hi.
motorola has not updated the camera app in play store since "4.4.2" version. could someone with moto x 4.4.4 kindly upload the camera apk?
because of customizations i have made, i'm not planing to take an ota before the android l comes.

Most of the enhancements to the camera functionality in the updates are usually in the kernel driver, not the camera apk. So unless it adds a new feature, the camera apk won't do you much good.

Hey guys,
I searched the web and haven't found much. What's really keeping me from going to a custom rom - be it GPE/AOSP (like Paranoid Android) or CM-Based - are those 3 features (Moto Assist, Camera, Gallery - even Radio FM). Sadly I only found negative evidence.
Are there any apks of those apps out there that work 100% on AOSP/CM-based roms? Or alternatives that have the same simplicity of design and functions?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Alternatives :
1. Assist - Quiet hours in various roms or profiles option.
2. Camera - In my opinion, the AOSP camera is much better than the stock camera application. The only thing missing is slow motion recording.
3. Gallery - There are many gallery applications available on the play store.
4. FM Radio - All of the roms I have flashed till now had a FM Radio app. And it also allows you to play the audio via the external speaker.

Thanks for answering mate, much appreciated.
1. Main feature I use from Assist is that the phone goes quiet during an calendar appointment and auto replies to favorite calls (family). Can't find a similar app that just does that and/or doesn't have a bulky, ugly interface.
2. agreed, but Google Camera doesn't support panorama nor slow motion + HDR on the Moto G
3. tried a few. Again I like the simple, unbulky Moto Gallery with sidebar and autohide status bar feature.
Did no one ever try to port those 3 apps? :/ I can't be the only one wondering/asking this.

1. No that feature is not there in AOSP ROMs.
2. I'm taking about the AOSP camera and not the Google camera. In the AOSP camera we have panaroma and HDR. The only thing missing is the slow motion capture.
3. If you want simplicity then the AOSP gallery is good. The only thing not available is the sidebar.

I don't remember if it does the auto-SMS, but Llama (FOSS, on the Play Store) can certainly use the calendar plus a whole bunch of other conditions to silence the phone, change "profiles" (enabling things like different ringtones at home and work, or silencing/changing some notification with the LlamaTones ringtone selector) and generally trigger actions.

Exactly same situation here. I'm torn between staying stock and going CM but loosing these three apps.
Moto camera and gallery apps are absolutely the best around. AOSP gallery is outdated and downright ugly. Also, there is no gallery app that performs nearly as smooth as moto gallery.
It shouldn't be THAT hard to port these apks, right?
I'm not giving up
Moto G Camera App - don't know if it's CM only - (zip also seems to include Gallery)
Found a Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2614700
"dhacker archieved to get the native moto g camera app working --> loki.rombitch.com/Devs/Dhacker29/MotoCamera442.zip"
Moto G Assist, apparently only for CM 11 (maybe CM based also, maybe PA, don't know)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52202333
I've no way to check these since I haven't rooted my phone.
Maybe someone wants to try and report back. Would be very appreciated.

BTW , Moto camera on AOSP , about slow motion not working too.
I was upgrading some of the system apps on my phone with KitKat versions, since the LG stock versions weren't that great. I downloaded the KitKat camera app, and from what I read, was advised to remove the stock camera app to prevent any problems. I backed up the stock LG camera app on my SD card, and installed the KitKat camera app. I got the panorama mode to work, as well as the filters in the KitKat gallery app. I thought everything was working, so I deleted my backed up camera app, only to figure out later on that the Kitkat camera app would freeze anytime I tried to take a video. Granted, the camera on my phone sucks horribly, but I could not find a way to get it to work with the Kitkat camera app or even the early 4.2 Camera/Gallery app. So what I'm asking is, can anyone upload the LG camera apk and odex file that comes with the LG Optimus Dynamic II? Or would it be possible to try and get my video camera to work with the Kitkat or 4.2 camera app? I've uploaded a cat log file, but I'd rather not do much work since the camera is not that great at all, and I just want to be able to take videos on my phone.
I'm running GPE 5.0.1, is there anyway to sideload the Motorola Camera and Gallery apps? Tried the simple sideload apk, obviously doesn't work, maybe some missing libs.
I like GPE and no moto care, moto id crap but I really like the camera and the gallery. :_
Help.

I remembered someone tried hard before to get moto camera. But failed. Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644340
Maybe try another app and you will find your new favs, right?
Btw, is there FM radio in GPE 5.0.1? I ask it because there was no FM radio in KK and I missed it a lot

I actually don't really dislike the Google Camera. My problem is mainly that I don't like Photos Google+ App (I disable it) so now I'm using Quickpic, but when you swipe left from the Google Camera it uses it's own weird built-in gallery unless you tap edit.
Also, no FM radio on 5.0.1, however I didn't use it even once

I'm still the guy who use FM radio, old fashion guy hen ╮(╯_╰)╭
Quickpic is great. And for camera, I choose Open Camera. It is customizable and the photo preview app can be configured.
Waiting for Moto Camera too, I miss HDR and slow-mo was a cool feature.
You could flash this zip http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...llery-apps-t2965282/post57456853#post57456853 . Tested myself and everything works just fine. HDR and Slow-mo aren´t there, though.

Without those features it doesn't worth it. There is probably some missing library.
We need someone in stock Lollipop (non-GPE) rooted to bring the Camera apk and the needed libraries.
Is this camera app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.vipek.camera2&hl=en compatibile with Xperia Z3 running Lollipop? I read somewhere that the Lollipop API isn't implemented yet, so i was curious if the ones that have Lollipop installed can check it out, even if just for the trial.
If it is I might just upgrade, since i'd love to have manual White Balance control and many of the other options, and that would be enough to offset the ugly, imo, new redesign of the UI in Android 5.0
No.

No
We should all send emails to sony to request them to implement the camera2 api ( all those who want ).
Hello,
I've always loved to click pictures and never am I able to compromise on picture quality and enhancements. I've been using Cybershot Camera Mod from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/themes-apps/mod-camera-cyber-shot-superior-auto-t2501740
But the thing is, that mod is available only for JB 4.2.2 and not for kitkat or lollipop. I've asked the developer for it but seems like he is not responding to any queries. I am still on stock JB for that camera only.
It would be very helpful if you could port that app. Any other camera app porting from latest xperia z series is also highly appreciated.
Thank you.
