[Q] Best "No Data required" Phone for AT&T. To be used for text messaging only.
I have an AT&T family plan & one line is for my mom but she has no use for data. She has just learned how to text and I would like to get her the best, easiest to use texting phone that doesn't require a data plan.
I am capable of modding/hacking a phone if necessary.
Thanks for any help

[Q] Sprint Samsung Transform on Boost

Did know where exactly to put this since this phone does not have it's own forum. Usually searching Google gets me an answer, but I'm even more confused then ever. Basically I have a Sprint Samsung Transform...It was cheaper then Boost and a Boost Rep said it would be possible to call an activate it. I have called several reps (seven at this point) and all of them say no. Is flashing my phone (or whatever the process is called since some say its not called flashing) my only option or are the Boost Mobile reps getting me the run around because I will note that almost each of the seven reps give me a different reason as to why the phone can't be activated.
I just want a clear concise answer cause I really like this phone and I really want to use it. I assumed since Boost had the Transform it would be ok.

Best VZW Option?

So my GNex is getting long in the tooth and I'm thinking on a new phone. I am grandfathered into VZW unlimited data and run the house off of it to the tune of around 50gb/mo. I was looking at the Galaxy S4 (I do like Samsung) but it seems pretty darn locked down in regards to being able to run custom ROMS on. Any input on what else I might consider? Obviously to keep my current plan, I'll be buying my next phone on the open market ...

Which handset I should buy?

Hello!
I need your kind suggestion as I am looking to buy a new phone for me. According to my purchasing ability I can afford following handsets.
1. Samsung Note 3
2. LG G2
3. LG G2 Pro
4. Nexus 5
5. Iphone 5
Currently I am using Xperia Arc. I usually do not use handsets. If I buy any handset, then surely I will use for next 1 and 1.5 years. I need a device which will have better and faster data service, exchange mail service, handset apps, camera, longer battery life and good camera option.
I am confused. Please suggest me which handset I should purchase among them. You can also suggest other handset. Please also mention the reason why should I buy!
Looking forward to your suggestion.
Thanks,
Shimu

Need new phone - Advice wanted

Hello,
I have a Samsung Exhibit II 4G (2.3.5) and need a new phone. The ExII is just too slow and irritating. My wife has a Sony Xperia T (4.3) and I am not so pleased with it either.
My big complaint is the instability caused by memory filling with apps that I/we don't use. I don't use a phone for social media or movies and do very little texting. I do write my own apps with Eclipse that make it a worker for my engineering work so do want a smart phone. I have tried a few root ROMs on the ExII but it always becomes unstable and will lock up or refuse to boot at the worst times.
I am looking for models that users either have rooted and are stable or didn't need to be rooted to keep them running fast.
I prefer smaller screens (4-4.5") and less than $300 but will go outside those bounds if I gain stability.
Any suggestion are appreciated.
Happy Trails
