Replace downloadproviderui and downloadprovider apk on a stock rom - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello I had a question about replacing the download manager on the stock samsung rom with the one from cyanogenmod in an effort to use stock apps. I am indeed rooted, and I have copied both files from priv-app and app directories to their designated locations and also set their permissions to rw-r-r. However, unlike other apps i've installed just fine using this method such as lockclock and gallery, these apps dont appear to be installed after doing this. Are their other dependencies I might be missing that are preventing this from working?
I am on the 4.4.2 stock samsung rom and I am trying to use apps from the m7 cm 11 build based on 4.4.2 as well.

bumping my own thread, if its a simple no you cant no biggie XD

Skyrocket CAMERA.APK

Took the plunge last night and flashed the DarkSide VENOM #666 kernel on my Skyrocket running CM10 jellybean (unofficial Team Chopsticks). True to the posts of many forum users, this got all camera-related functionality working reliably and consistently. But there is still no stock camera app present, even after flashing 0729 Google apps. Is there an easy way to install the stock Android camera app now that my kernel will support it?
If u have a cm9 rom simply extract the apk and use root explorer and paste it in /system/app, and set the proper permissions using long press > permissions (should be the same as every other already present app) then reboot. Presto! Camera

So...interestingly enough, I'm on CM9 (Skyrocket I727) and extracted the original UCLF6 Stock Samsung Camera apk (and odex) and attempted to restore it to /system/app (first just the apk and when that didn't work, the odex too). The camera app simply was missing from the drawer. Even after a reboot.
Any thoughts? Does this, perhaps, require the SGSII Framework? If so, is this something I can restore without messing up other components? Sorry if these questions are stupid...

Flash PA GApps. They will replace most stock apps. Plus the installer is configurable so you can customize as you like.

[Q] Gallery app from Kit-Kat

Is it possible to load the old Photo Gallery app from Kit-Kat onto a Lollipop build? Would I just need to find an old apk and install that?
No. You'd need to compile it from AOSP code and use that (and you'll need to be rooted to install it as a system app - I think)

I just downloaded the apk from http://www.mediafire.com/download/v39fjo4vcb9b8bn/Gallery.apk and installed it without root. Seems to be working fine so far. I don't care for the new Photos app, I prefer the way the Gallery organizes photos by folders rather than date.
Each to their own! I have unlimited data so don't care where they are so long as they're somewhere!

can someone help me?

so recently I accidentally wiped everything on my phone except TWRP. Then I managed to boot up the phone with liquid remix installed with android 9.0 and now my phone is missing the Samsung apps (which I want on my phone) how can I get them back is there a flashable file or any installable pack I really want them back
so if someone can help please tell me what to do I will really appreciate it
Aosp based roms and Samsung apps usually don't mix very well.
You could backup your Samsung apps using Titanium backup, then try to install them one by one in your android 9.
You could also Google for a site that has Samsung apps apk's.
Don't expect much success ?

I have the APK s I just can't download them to my device if you know how to install them can you help me or redirect me to someone else that knows what to do
I suppose you've enabled install apps from unknown sources in settings.
Try to install as you would any apk, i.e. open in file explorer.
As mentioned before, don't expect them to install anyway (maybe 1 out of 20??); most are not compatible with aosp roms.
For your aosp custom rom - look for similar gapps or apps from the app store or XDA.

How could I update system apps ?

Hello, I am currently making a few software modifications on my rooted Galaxy S9 on which I installed Noble ROM from AlexisXDA to be able to use one ui 4.1 with android 12. Now I’m trying to install One UI 5 apps on it, so I already installed Samsung Messages, Contacts, Phone dialer and Gallery as system apps using Lucky Patcher and everything worked as expected, and these apps simply replaced the old ones. Though, now I am struggling to install One UI 5 files app (aka Samsung My Files 14.x). This app is only supposed to be compatible with android 12L and more recent, but I managed to change the min SDK requirement to make it run on android 12. After I changed the min SDK I installed it as system app using Lucky Patcher and now everything is working until I long press a file which makes the app crash. Digging into android files, I noticed in the system/priv-app folder that the original version of MyFiles was still installed and I can’t delete it. Second thing I noticed, in the original MyFiles folder (in private app) there’s a file with the same name as the apk but the extension .prof is added next to it. I don’t know what this file is but I’m pretty sure this is what makes the original version work fine. So, can anyone tell me what this prof file is, and how I could make one for my custom My Files App please ?
Only for clarity:
Apps stored in /system/app are APKs what are indispensable part of Android OS - user apps has nothing to do there
whereas
apps stored in /system/priv-apps are APKs to be granted system permissions, regardless of the app signature: they at any time can get removed - mostly without any harm but requires Android is got rooted

So, if I understand it correctly it means my version of the app gets rejected every time by the priv-app folder right ? Unlike the preinstalled My Files app which is granted system permissions ?
