if I unlocked the bootloader of my device, is that mean i have also unlocked the sim lock ?
if not , are there any way i can do a sim unlock?
Hello, first time to write post in xda...
I have xt925 with fido. I rooted the device and I realized that I must have unlocked device to flash ROM or etc.
So,
I bought unlock code for my xt925 from GSM.
Instruction is
turn on the device with different provider sim card.
I tried with "Rogers" and -_- everything works...
So i guess my device is for Fido and Rogers.
Now, I turn on the device with "Bell" sim card
and the menu window (to input unlock code or pin) did not pop up at the bottom of the screen,
it says "something with sim card (in English) / Perso blah blah (looks like Spanish)"
Anyone knows what this means? any further instruction?

What you are attempting with the unlock code is a "Carrier Unlock". To be able to easily flash custom roms, you need to unlock the bootloader. These are two completely different types of unlocking. Search a little more for unlocking the bootloader.

I there,
I try to unlock the bootloader, but mine status information is "Boot loader unlocked allow: NO".
I want to unlock the mobile SIM card, its locked by vodafone portugal.
Can anyone help me to unlock SIM cards without unlock bootloader?
Regards
Hello!
I have a question about unlocking!
If i unlock the Sim-lock on a smartphone (by a code), does this also set the bootloader settings from:
"Bootloader unlock allowed: No" => to: "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" ??
Thanks, regards,
Stefan
Try and see
You have nothing to lose from trying, if it works you have phone without Simlock nor bootloader lock and if it doesn't work you'd still have a Simlock-free phone. I don't even know why you haven't tried yet...
Bootloader and SIM locks have nothing to do with each other.
Thanks for the expressive one answer !?
I cannot try it, becaus the phone is not my phone, i want to buy the phone! So, if i could unlock the bootloader with a Sim-unlock,
then i buy the phone & buy the sim-unlock(code). If i could not unlock the bootloader, i am not interesting to buy this locked-phone!!
My consideration is: Buy a cheap locked-phone & unlock it by my self (+pay the unlock-code) OR buy a expensive unlocked-phone!!
... or don't pay for the damn unlock-code an hack the damn bootloader, so that i could change the "bootloader unlock allowed" to YES!
regards,
Stefan
"Bootloader and SIM locks have nothing to do with each other. "
... OK, i understand - Thanks!
If you sim unlock your phone you will be able to use any sim card, but unlocking your phone in that way does nothing to allow unsigned or non-officially signed bootloaders, recoveries, or roms to be loaded on the device in the same way that unlocking the bootloader does not sim unlock the phone.
OK, Thanks!! - this is a very important information for me!!
regards,
Stefan

It's impossible to unlock...
Is it simlocked? If it's simlocked to some network you are unable to unlock the bootloader. If you unlock the phone, you will be able to unlock the bootloader

I had several phones that were sim locked and I was unable to unlock the bootloader. After sim unlocking them I was able to unlock the bootloader. The same goes for the Xperia M2, it was locked on T-Mobile MK, after unlocking the phone I was able to unlock the bootloader.

So, I assume that if I flash a debranded firmware from Xperia M2 (My cellphone can't unlock Bootloader about the "[x]Newtork 10" is locked in SimLock) may unlock the bootloader without any troubles? Is that so? Or I'm mistaken?
If I'm correct, that'd be amazing, I'd like use other ways to personalize my phone but I can't 'cause of the stupid Bootloader xDD.
Thanks!

Debranding basically removes all the bloatware that slow your phone down. You can't sim unlock with debranding, only with special code provided by some other sim unlock sites/ebay

Exactly that. Try to enter it correctly because there is a limit on how many times you can enter to network unlock code. If it doesn't work on KitKat, downgrade it to 4.3 and enter the code. I had similar problem where I was unable to unlock on KK but on 4.3 worked fine.

Well, about that, I have a "plan", or, better said, a contract between the carrier and the cellphone, so, I must wait for two days to complete the "legal" contract. So, after that, I guess that I can unlock the device and then, unlock bootloader.
Thanks for everything!
