[Help needed] Android KitKat native screen recorder. - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I've tried the native android KitKat screen recorder on my nexus 5 and it's working totally perfect, but when I record the games (horizontal one's) half of the screen is recorded. What do I do? If you guys need a sample of recording I will give you.

Unless you had an android specifically with camera built in slow-motion to take the video, it is not possible unless you get a 3rd party app that can do that (don't know if one exists yet that will work). But you can try the app AndroVid to see if it works for you. Says you take the video using regular camera app and then this app will convert your video to slow-motion. No a direct in camera feature but may work for you.

The new Lollipop 5.0 API has opened up the camera function so that the speed of the camera can be discovered and then if it supports a faster frame rate (AKA slo-mo) then it can be used. There is a guy who is trying this with this beta(?) camera app: https://github.com/PkmX/lcamera
Please try it as the guy has done some work with the 5 and 6. I would like to know if it works. I tried it on a nexus 10 and the app crashed/wouldn't open. But then again I doubt the camera on a nexus 10 supports fast frame rates.

Regarding Screen recording

I got this device a while back and i am using durecorder for screen recording.
When i play the video it is not in full screen and edges are cut from all sides. I tried changing resolution (1080p and 720p) but results are same.
Is there anything i am doing wrong.
Please help. Thanks.

Try this one
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hecorat.screenrecorder.free
The phone is not in the standard 16:9 format. Look for an option to record your screen in native resolution or use an alternative.
I like this one, been using it on the OP6 without any problems for months now: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kimcy929.screenrecorder

Try to set the app that you want to record to full screen mode then. I had the same with Asphalt 9 and once I set it to full screen, no problem.
use this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kimcy929.screenrecorder
its the best. not taking too much ram, not laggy, easy to use and supports 120fps screen recording, which is extremely smooth.

as you already know better than me, with android 9 all call recording apps are not working anymore, the only solutions are just recording what the mic is hearing, and it's really not so good

Thanks

Because the built in screen recorder takes the video at compressed 720p instead of 1080p

Most of the built-in screen recording apps are very limited, both on phones and PCs. I recommend that you always install a third-party screen recorder or screenshot app because you will take the time to figure it out once, but you will have much more video recording and editing options. For example, I currently use Movavi Screen Recorder on Windows. I'm a university student, and we have couples through Google Meet, and Movavi helps me a lot in that I can record a lesson and then watch it again if I forgot something or I'm not sure about something.
