Hello Team,
I got my OnePlus One Chinese flashed with Cyanogenmod 11 built ( not 11s ) , it was working just fine and then went to update section and installed the latest cyanogenmod 11 ( cm-11-20140805-SNAPSHOT-M9-bacon.zip ) build , and after which DoubleTap to wake / sleep doesnt work.
Any idea to what might be the issue and how to get it back working ?
Thanks
Faisal

I would look into flashing a custom kernel that support doubletap to wake.
Sent from a tablet thingy
double tap to wake is built into the rom / kernel.
double tap to sleep is often double tap status bar twice. depending what rom you're using.
You have to double tap right below the ear speaker at the top for it to sleep. I tried other placed on the screen and it doesn't work. I'm stock rooted CM11s.

You were right zephiK , I had the cm11 running Android 4.4.2 initally and it was built in the ROM and it worked , after updating it ot 4.4.4 they removed it

Should still work on cm 11. You need to activate them if they aren't default on.

I did check the settings but there is no option on Double Tap to wake anywhere but i did find Double tap to Sleep ( which worked when clicked on the status bar ) , since i have flashed the 11s ROM , i dont the environment available to confirm the same.

It's in the gestures. The same place you'd see camera and music gestures. Also make sure your proximity sensor isn't covered. The newer version uses the proximity sensor to make sure that your phone doesn't do gestures when your phone is in your pocket.

It is not in the 'gestures'.
There are only three options within that category - torch, music, camera.
You may find what you are looking for under Settings > Display & Lights, then scroll down for "Advance Settings".

I wish people would check before they spout off answers ya know? Haha jk @zephiK is awesome, but he's human too.
The setting is in Settings > Display & Lights > near the bottom.

WAH I'm human?! I thought I was a automated robot, noooo
But yeah, I use a custom ROM so its not in the same place as they've re-organized the settings around but I for sure remembered the setting being somewhere around there.
Its somewhat close, ultimately its up to the user to find the settings anyway. I just remembered it being present but I can't nicely point out where it is since its moved around.

I've looked everywhere for an answer to this, but so far to no avail. Is there a way to manually disable this Knock On feature included in the stock software? I'm running CyanogenMod 11 nightlies and it causes my phone to crash 50% of the time and gets annoying after a while. I looked through all the system files on the phone and can't even find a pointer. Be as complicated as you want with your answer. Thanks.
P.S. This is not a new problem with CM11. Did this with 10.2 as well.
On the stock software its easy !! Go to configurations > general > gesture > on/off screen (its the first option) !!
Hope i could help:good:

If your still trying to figure it out i found it after about 3 hours of searching its located in settings under display and lights just uncheck "double tap to wake"
Disable Knock on / Knock Off
Go to settings, device, display and lights, and uncheck double tap to wake. Then settings , personalization, Interface, Status bar, and uncheck double tap to sleep..
Worked for me.. Hope this helps
Thank you!
Is there a way to disable knock on during calls only? My face keeps unlocking my phone and apps are opened or settings changed. It's annoying.
Found a FIX disable Tap 2 Wake/ Knock code
Hi all, I have a LG F220K (LG Optimus GK). :silly:
And I'm running a modified version of LG G2 CM11 (currently on M6) on my mobile.
After flashing CM11 ROM I figured that the option to deactivate the Tap to wake/ Knock code feature is not available in the Settings menu itself.
The Tap wake function is something I hate as it turns on display and press buttons during calls, so somehow I was lost with all the forums having only questions yet no answers...
This is How I sorted it!!! (Sorry, I am not allowed to post images or links as a newbie)
1. Please install Kernel Tweaker from the play market (It's free).
2. Open the Kernel Tweaker, access the main menu of the app by tapping the top left hand corner.
3. Browse through to Kernel (Under Kernel Params) tap open.
4. You will see that it has two options Under Kernel Tweaks "Double Tap 2 wake" and "Sweep 2 Wake", there will be two ticked boxes.
5. Untick both boxes and exit!!!
Now you can tap on screen like no tomorrow but Tap to Wake/ Knock code is no more... :highfive:
A THANK wouldn't hurt!!!

I 'm looking for that answer too..
Me as well! I hate Knock-On as it always turns on the screen in my pocket.
I tried Kernel Tweaker but there arent any options under Kernel Tweaks for me to choose from. Im running C-Rom 7.1 which is CM based I believe.
Is there an .apk or sys file I can disable? What kind of file and what is the name of the file/code that is responsible for Knock-On?

No, you're not the only one!!
I use a flip cover and i close it during a call, i think the proximity sensor is so sensible..
Anyway, are you rooted or stock? Because with the stock rom appened too much, with custom rom a little bit less..
I'm using the stock rom...not rooted. Is there some kind of a fix but changing rom?

If you are having this problem and youre not rooted you can simply press the power button once you accept the call. You wouldnt face the problem then.

You had a problem. I gave you a simple solution. Its upto you to do what you want. If you had root you could recalibrate your sensor.

Date & time opens after call FIX
I'm using HTC Desire HD with samsung rom, and this issue happened to me as well. However, I've managed to find rom options under settings and there I've put automatic sleep whenever I turn off the screen instead of 5 seconds on default. Also I've found that pressing the small clock in the upper left/right corner opens date and time and I disabled that option... since then I've had no problems with my phone... I hope this helps

the tricks is not turning off the screen completely like a lock, the screen is still on when you double tap it, just it is not very visible.
after you double tap, you still can scroll or tap the screen and the nav bar will shown.
I believe because of touch sensor build in lcd, & the can't separately powered.

There is a simple way to turn off the screen with double tap. But there is no way to turn on the screen with double tap.
opo cm 13.1 , just flashed from 12.1 i think.
i was used (like almost a year and a half) to lock my phone with the middle (circle) navigation bar - just long press on it and move my finger up.
after the 13.1 update i just cant find this feautre, has it gone?
Set the middle button as double tap to turn screen off, and have instant lock.

I was in same exact situation after upgrading to Marshmallow. The thing you used to use is called Navigation Ring Targets. Marshmallow removed this functionality in favor of long press Now on tap which I personally hate (don't ask why). So, after that, on Marshmallow I started using Greenify's "Long-press action on nav-bar" option. Just install Greenify, go to Settings, select that option and follow the steps. You'll be set plus you cal also save some precious battery life . I use Fling Nav bar available on various custom ROMs which beyond perfect if you set it up correctly.

I actually don't know about COS 13.1 but every CM based ROM or for that matter AOSP based ROM I've used, had this option. Just search for "Sound" in Settings, if it is there, you're good to go, if not, then I don't know. Even if it is there, it might not work with Greenify's screen off method.

Yep, doesn't work for me either in Android Auto. Double tap and lift both enabled in Moves and working except in Android auto. Was wanting the double tap as my phone mount obscures the power button.
