[Q] [ROM][4.4.2][Sense 6][SVN] help thread for LIBERTY ROM - The Sixth Element - HTC One S

Hello,
I can not find similar topic in the HELP forum so let me start it (at least for new users of XDA forum).
At the very beginning I would like to thank bilal_liberty for all his work given for Liberty ROM. Same time I want to thank all participants of his success - all developers, testers and helpers for their time and patience..
Now, my problems:
1) I can not run WIFI hotspot. The icon is working, working and... doing nothing.
2) From time to time I can not run WIFI connection in my home. Of course everything is "ON", I tried to restart the phone, turn of the data transfers and some other tricks - the connection was working just after installing the ROM, but it is a lottery.
3) I have an issue with memory: I can't see the "SDCARD" memory - only when in TWRP mode, after mounting the SDCARD drive. When connecting in normal mode through USB - I can see only about 2 GB.
Is there any solution for those problems?
HTC One S(4), s-off, TWRP 2.7.0.1, hboot 2.15 (I don't believe 2.16 will change it but "if" - I'll upgrade, of course...
Thanks for any help.

Hello xklonik and welcome to our community,
to answer your questions in descending order.
3) Sixth Sense is not compatible with hboot 2.15, so that's why you have problems with your sd card inside the rom (recovery is somewhat, "standalone")
2 + 1 ) These problems are well known issues and reported over the development thread. Developers are working hard to try and fix these issues but it's also a fact that without the source code of the sense roms, there's only so much we can do.
Also maybe because of your incompatible boot, these issues are getting worse.
There are two solutions:
a) Either upfrade to hboot 2.16 (with the procedure at maximusHD thread)
or if you are scared of this procedure
b) stay on hboot 2.15 and use LibertyMAX instead (both hboot supported and is more stable in my opinion - and by stable I mean no weird wifi issues whatsoever)
Other than that, both roms are excellent and it's really a matter of preference which one to choose. :good:

Hi ChrisAr.
Thanks for your reply.
I'm not scared with the hboot change I just couldn't see any reason to change it if the ROM (at all) was working. Now I see that my issues can be caused by this tinny missing so I'll update hboot after working hours
I'll update this thread after the upgrade.
Thanks for help.

No problem, glad to help
Be aware though. After upgrading hboot(following carefully MaximusHD's instructions), you must reflash recovery with 2.16 hboot support which can be found here -> mdmower.cmphys.com/twrp-ville/ (Cannot post full link due to post restrictions)
Just be sure to flash the one under /data/media storage (HBOOT 2.16.0000 only) header.
:good:

so.. there is a problem...
without any issue I succeed with hboot update to 2.16... however..
as you suggested, I also downloaded and upgraded TWRP with hboot 2.16 support (both, twrp-2.7.1.0a-ville-dm, twrp-2.7.1.2-ville-dm)...
unfortunately, after reboot to TWRP, I can not "mount SDCARD", which previously was available in hboot 2.15 & TWRP 2.7.0.1 in MOUNT menu..
also - I don't know why - I could not find my ROM on SDCARD and actually, I could not access the card at all...
so, I can not install anything.. I can boot to bootloader or TWRP, I can communicate with the cellphone via fastboot (I can change TWRP to any version I want)... I tried to flash-in my old version of TWRP, properly working with 2.15, but under 2.16 I have only 48 MB of free space when mounting the SDCARD
any advice?

ok, I found the way out...
since my connection with phone works perfectly, only one way to deal with lack of space and no ROM on SDCARD was to push it via adb
adb push yourrom.zip /sdcard/yourrom.zip
the rest after this was easy (recovery -> install ROM -> configure -> enjoy)...
thanks again for links and support!

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. I was away on vacation.
In that time, sixth sense got 2.15 support.. Irony
Not sure why you had that problem. Maybe you had to perform a full wipe (from the recovery options) to force re-partitioning. Old hboot had created different partitions on phone's memory and you had to create them from scratch, for the new hboot.
Also I assume you know that when you change hboot, you have to re-install also everything from scratch since everything installs according to hboot. If you just upgraded hboot, it would not work as expected if you just left the old installation there.
Anyway, glad to hear this worked for you and that you also found a workaround with "adb push" by your self. Good job :good:
Enjoy this awesome ROM. (Just flashed it too this morning) :highfive:

yeas... actually I did the instalation agait too..
and unfortunately wifi still wont work
btw. I'm always performing full wipe, so have no idea what happened then..nevertheless, I've full space and rest of toys, just without wifi and hot spot, what in fact, eliminates this ROM.. :/
unfortunately 2) no one answered my mail regarding any ROM supporting all One S features (camera, wifi, hotspot, BT) and Sense 6 on newest kitkat... so I'm still in the oblivion.. waiting for some light..

just to confirm - build 106 - after changing 1.35a.32.45.27, WCNSS, ADSP, wifi & hotspot still not working,
what is interesting, previously the wifi icon only blinked - currently "scanning" & "disconnecting" subtitles are visible under this icon...
also previously just right after installing I could connect to my network and wifi was turned off just after authorisation and few next screens..
now with new 1.35a.32.45.27, WCNSS, ADSP I can not join at all..

I've been following your posts on the development thread.
This issue is really weird...I wanted to write about different WCNSS versions (some people flashed it from the Viper ROM) but I couldn't post due to post count restriction. Anyway, bilal noticed that too in his recent post. I have flashed everything you flashed and only reverted to radio 1.20 but with hsdpa fix (it is included in one of the flashable radios, don't know if it's included in the version you downloaded)
WiFi is working perfectly for me. Only this "keep always on" issue.

Hi everyone,
First off thanks to bilal for his amazing work, second I hope I am not off topic since this is a help thread for Liberty SixthSense.
After reading the entire development thread on this ROM, I still can't figure out how to install it on hboot2.15. I get a feeling that there is a different way to install this rom on 2.15, or I'm missing something.
So yes, I download the zips of r106 version and the radio 1.20 version. But afterwards I just do as I would do with any other ROM? I mean full wipe, dalvik cache wipe, recovery cache wipe, and then install from zips? and if so, which should be instlled first, the radio or the whole rom?
Mindue, I am noob at this, so I don't understand everything I've read so far and this would be the only way I know to install a rom.:silly:
quick checklist:
- S4
- recovery TWRP 2.7.1.0 the one from Cyanogenmod 11 since I'm on this rom now.
- S-OFF
- hboot 2.15

Hi!
I think you are good to go. Since you don't know any other way to install a ROM (adb sideload/push), I would say to be carefull what you wipe because you might erase the OS and you won't be able to transfer the zips from your computer (regularly, like a flash drive).
Other than that everything is good...recovery is for right hboot(since you already have cm11; official I suppose which is for 2.15)
Flash radio
Flash ROM -> choose full wipe during install
Never heard of recovery cache wipe so don't mess with that
Best of luck! :good:

Thank you! I will try and see where it leads me, if it fails I believe I can put back the cm11 right ? even with the new flashed radio.

As far as I know, there are no problems with cm11 and radios...but even if there is, you can always flash an older radio...but 1.20 is the recommended for our device in general.
Glad I could help :good:

Ok, so I try to flash the radio (before full wipe and rom flash) but it fails, I get the followings:
checking for MD5 file > no MD5 file found
verifying zip signature > failed
any ideas to where I went wrong?
LATER EDIT: scratch that, the problem was the 'ZIP signature files verification' box should have been unticked and thus no more md5 file required. --> radio flashed! now on 1.20. later I will try to flash the liberty rom. update afterwards
PS. found this in another thread:
"an md5 is not "added to a file", nor is it "a part of a file". An md5 is merely a hexadecimal readout of the contents of that file.
Here's how it works: A file is created, in our case it is a zip file. The creator or publisher of that file uses an md5 generator to generate the md5sum, which as I said before, is just a numerical readout (like a fingerprint) of the contents of that file. Now the end user has a tool to make sure that the file hasn't been compromised during a download or transfer. Using an md5 checker is a simple way to verify that the file is uncompromised. Input the md5 given by the publisher into an md5 checking app, then the app calculates the md5 of the file you've downloaded, if they match you know the file integrity is good."

Just installed the ROM, everything works fine, very fast and smooth, no WiFi problems, HOPEFULLY no radio problems (I previously had Venom Viper Sense5 and had major issues with radio and lots of random restarts).

Glad to hear that.
I had also these random restarts, but they are gone now.
Enjoy

Still new here so can't post in the dev thread, but...
Installed the latest version (clean install), everything works solid. Hotspot works as before - have to turn it on, then reboot and Wi-Fi mostly works but occasionally needs restart to work. Other than that, everything is stable and quick, very happy with the ROM. As I primarily use 3G and don't rely on Wi-Fi as well as can use USB tethering instead of Wi-Fi hotspot, I'm not that annoyed by these issues.
However - on r107, I tried out the ElementalX 7.0 kernel as well but as I experienced issues with touch screen, I searched the thread and found a fix which turned out to be a special kernel. Therefore although the kernel in the ROM was updated and now there are no touch issues with the default kernel, the ElementalX kernel also needs updating. Really miss DT2W but a responsive touchscreen is more important to me.
Tried the kernel now after r111 install but the touch problem is still there so had to revert to default kernel.
I hope the kernel's developer sees this and can release an update :fingers-crossed:

no recent apps
I cant find the recent apps in this system

Problems
Hey guys, first post in this forum. I'm a total noob when it comes to rooting and roms and all this stuff, but if I didn't try it I would always be, so I tried this rom on my htc one s.
Several problems, I may have screwed up of course, I followed some tutorials, so I have this rom, but I am S-On, and my hboot is 2.15, I think that is what is causing me problems (SD card not recognized, meaning, no storage space, wifi problems, can't log in to google play).
But I can't get S-off, I've tried every single way, and something always goes wrong, I don't know what to do now, I think the solution would be to change to hboot 2.16, but I just can't do it, probably need to be S-off? No idea, would love to hear some feedback, I'll leave you with whatever it says on my bootloader.

Upgrading from MIUI-v4-Saga-2.5.4-RD - stuck in bootloop

I've been trying to install either MIUI 2.8.3 or 2.8.10 as I'm currently running MIUI-v4-Saga-2.5.4-RD_Edition but the phone keeps getting stuck in a bootloop. I'm doing a factory reset, cache and dalvik wipe then installing from Revolutionary 4.0.4.
The phone is currently:
SAGA PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT: 6.98.1002
RADIO: 38.03.02.11_m
eMMC: BOOT
I've searched the Q&A's and Development for a solution but can't find anything other than maybe changing the HBOOT version or updating the Kernel, but nothing specific to my issue. Any got any ideas?
Yup, changing the hboot to 7... or 2.00.2... will probably do the trick

Will this cause an issue going back to earlier versions of MIUI such as 2.4.20 (last Gingerbread)? Will it also have any effect on any Nandroids I've got stored and might want to reinstall?
Nope and nope
Although, installing one of those hboots will add a new partition.
This partition is what makes a non-modded ICS work, but it also means a waste of space if you're running GB.
Edit: there is a feature in 4ext to include system_lib in new nandroids.

Thanks for the info. Two (three) last q's:
- Do you have a link to the Hboot upgrade? What determines whether you should upgrade to hboot to 7 or 2.00.2?
- How do you find 2.8.10? I've tried a few ICS MIUI's but they've been too laggy so I always end up back at GB as it's more stable. Wondering if things have changed in the later releases.
Check out the INDEX in development forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146601
And about the hboot; doesn't really matter that much, but I would downgrade if I were you.
I downloaded .10 from the UK site.
There's a new release every Friday (yes, today! ) http://miuiandroid.com/

[Q] Radio 1.13.50.05 & HBoot 2.15

Is anyone familiar with whether or not one can flash a new radio on the HBOOT 2.15.000? I believe the one it comes with is giving me trouble on the T-Mobile network (data drops randomly). I've tried CM10.1 with the 3.4 Kernel, Illusion Rom and PACMAN rom and none of which seem to get a stable connection with the radio-1.13.50.05.31_10.50.08L. Additionally, I can't edit the build.prop file as it's COMPLETELY different than the previous ones. Suggestions?
I've attempted to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255906&highlight=radio the radio found there via fastboot and received an error:
C:\Users\TE\Downloads\BehradGH_HBoot_2.15.0000_TWRP_Recovery (1)\fastboot>fastb
ot flash zip radio.zip
sending 'zip' (19455 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.160s]
writing 'zip'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 2.194s
I then attempted to flash via recovery and it goes through successfully however, nothing changes, it's still the same radio once I reboot. I've even tried the AROMA Installer for ALL HBoot and that doesn't work either. I've tried install higher radios and lower radios and none hold true once the phone boots. Should I try a different ROM? If so which do "you" suggest? Am I missing something prior to installation that I'm doing wrong?

we dont have a enginering hboot so forget it using fastboot.
use the temp or sense installers in the dev section.
As I said, I tried the AROMA installer from that post (which is the temp installer you are referring to) via recovery and it still didn't work.
I'll try a sense installer and a sense rom later. Thank you.

It will only change the radio version shown under settings-about phone. It will not change it on the bootloader screen. Only the sense installer will do that, but you must have soff. The temp install will also work for sense in the same way.
The signal issue is also a known problem for the new 3.4 kernel aosp roms

It doesn't even change it in about phone section.
So, what you're saying is that if I change the kernel I could potentially solve the erratic behavior of the radio?
I'm not sure if you were linking DarkSense hinting that I should try that or if it's just your signature but I'll get it anyways. Thank you. I'll try your suggestions after work.
I had the same problem, couldn't flash radio, i flashed 3.16.401 through cwm and then flashed ruu 3.16.401 which changed the radio, couldn't flash ruu before because i had higher version than 3.16.401 orange uk branded and had problem with signal once a day i got emergency call only, now i'm with 3.16.401 and no problems whatsoever, stock runs nice on one s till cm gets stable
I struggled with the radio flashing for 2 days having bootloader unlocked and s-off, ****ty branded network

It's my sig. I do the theme work on plus tweaks and other stuff.
You can't just change the kernel on a room that uses a 3.4 kernel, you would either need to switch to a sense room or an older asop style ROM.

Hello all on my first post.
Background:
Long story short, screwed up my phone a little while back, recovered with: RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_TMOUS_2.35.531.7_Radio_1.08ts.50.02.16_10.08e.50.04L_release_279577_signed
Everything peachy after that, then a couple of days after I got a hold of:
RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_TMOUS_3.14.531.17_Radio_1.13.50.05.31_10.30.50.08L_release_320836_ICS_2_JB
Then the problems started, every ROM I tried, the connection dropped and had to restart the phone. Tried to Facepalm, Moonshine, Super CID 11111111, nothing. Spent hours reading and thinking how I could get around this, I can't S-Off, so I can't change the radio and use a regular ROM like CM or BlackBean, not that I'm not grateful, just Sense is not really my thing. Tried BlackBean 9 with kernel 3.4 and didn't worked.
Any ROM that is not Sense based would not keep the signal for internet, unless rebooted.
So my question is: once you have HBOOT 2.15.0000 and Radio 1.13.50.05.31 you are screwed, did anyone in the same situation got S-Off or got it to work some how?
I did make a mission to check the forums for the methods I mentioned for the past 3 months, weekly if not daily.
The phone had originally:
HBOOT-1.14.0005
RADIO-1.11t.50.02.22
OpenDSP-v29.1.0.45.0622
eMMC-boot
Nov 21 2012, 12:17:41
But couldn't find the RUU with that radio, so used the one with 1.08ts.
Thanks in advance.

Nope. Tried Unknown, DarkSense, TrickDroid and SourcE connection is all good. AOSP [regular] ROMs need to reboot the phone, reload APN settings or get in and out of Airport mode, then it works for a while then drops the signal.
I forgot if incoming or outgoing calls work or not on regular ROMs.

Try the 4.2 ROMs. Data drops have been removed.
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Installed ville_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v23.0.0_20130716-224253 last night, in the morning, tried to see a few pages, same shtick, no data connection. But remembered to test the phone and it connected to voice mail.
Hmmm.
Tried Odyssey 2.50 for about 10 hours, no problems. But didn't installed my usual apps, just kept checking on the data to see if it dropped, all good. Then got a hold of Odyssey 2.70 actually put all my apps in, configure the interface and such, nothing fancy.
Then I tried to use the data, nothing, but not even tried to load the pages, I found it strange, because before it was usually after a few hours that the data started to act up with the other ROMs I tried. Then it occurred to me, why not try deactivating DroidWall 1.5.7, BINGO!
Data did dropped at times but it came back up, and loaded the page, I guess it was because a data cap, I'm just guessing. But if it makes it the whole day without giving problems, that was probably the culprit:victory:

Hey the problem is the rom! it just has the meta it need the system file without it it will fail. also you need recorvery clock work mod or twrp without then it is a fail but find a better rom first
I got the same problem. Ran the JB_TMOUS RUU and lost my phone signal. I tried newest CM rom (4.4.2) but it didn't help. Tried flashing temporary radio V4, and it made no difference. How do I get my phone service back?

Now, I am in the same s*** position as you. Did you solve the problem? If you did please, explain how did you solve it.
"cough" A bit late, but just for future reference for anyone that might find themselves with the same problem.
Get a hold of rumrunner to S-Off, thats the only method that I've tried that worked, also if you can't find rumrunner, get a Sense ROM to keep you using the phone.
I gave up after a long wait for a reliable S-Off method, so my phone was stored for about a year been using my old Sensation 4G.
And just to put it out there, always check, double check and triple check before you do anything, if you are impatient at the moment, go out for a smoke, get some gum, drink a beer, whatever you need to do to relax a bit, and then go back to the task, I know is not surgery but it felt like that at times.:silly:

Wifi Issue

Hello, recently I got my HOX (AT&T version). Obviously, the first thing I did was rooting it (And yes, I'm pretty sure that I did it correctly, I rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, rooted it again, S-OFF it and updated the HBOOT to 2.14 in order to install CM 11). The first rom I installed was the official CM11 and the wifi issue started, I thought that it might have been a bug because it was a nightly (despite the fact that it was the latest nightly). I tried to fix it by installing another rom (PAC rom), and the issue was still there.
After searching for solutions, I tried everything I could: I did a factory reset (both in the ROM and in the recovery mode), I formatted the internal memory, I installed the latest nightly, the official release, I flashed the boot.img using fastboot, I erased the files in /data/wifi folder. But none of this solutions worked.
Here's exactly what happens: I flash the rom and the gapps, then I reboot the phone. Once it boots, I choose the language and I get the google account screen (The one that asks if you want to use an existing account or if you want to create a new account). Before it allows me to choose anything, it goes to another screen that says "To see available networks, turn your wifi on" for about 2 seconds, then it says "Turning wifi on" and nothing ever happens, no matter how many hours I wait, no matter how many times I reboot the phone, it always says the same thing.
I went back to JellyBean for a while and everything worked fine, now that I saw a thread in which an user posted a CM12 build. I did everything again and flashed the ROM, and I still got the same problem.
Please help.
PS: Sorry if I made a lot of grammar mistakes, English is not my main language.
Have you tried running an RUU?
Transmitted via Bacon
I solved it, I was searching how to update the RUU and I read that some ROMs have mobile data/wifi issues if your Hboot wasn't at least 2.15, and I had 2.14.
Anyways, thanks for the help.

One mini, which ROM+Kernel ?

Hello,
I'm very new in Android world and I know about nothing but since two weeks I have an One mini and I discovered it was rooted, so I've tried to understand what I can do to improve it...
Android 4.4.2
Sense 6
N° 4.14.401.1 CL372462
HTC SDK API 6.20
Kernel 3.4.10-g3862988
and @ ABM101 # 1 SMP PREEMPT
1.25.40g.00.19_10.31.40.1111L
TWRP 2.8.5.0
... here is what I can read in the bootloader screen:
TAMPERED
UNLOCKED
M4_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID 1111111
HBOOT 2.22.0000
RADIO 1.25.40g.00.19
OpenDSP v19.2.0268.0927
OS 3.10.502.3
eMMC-boot 1024
In the SD card, there is this file M4_4.14.401.1_Stock_v3.0.0.zip, I think it cames from http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...-official-stock-sense-6-rom-firmware-t2817921
So if I am not wrong I have the stock ROM.
I would like to try another custom ROM in order to have better battery management and better battery life.
If it is possible, also "tape to wake" would be nice, but if it is too complicated to install MLG I will not install this future. I'm a totally newbie!
I like the experience with stock Sense 6 ... so I am looking for a very stable ROM without any known bugs. The simplest the better !
Can you suggest me a ROM+kernel for my purpose ?
PS: the mic doesn't work, I've ordered a new one, hope it will work.
I've already done a backup with TWRP.
Thanks !
Marco
try insertcoin 3.7.0 for the most stable build and better performance and sense interface. I'm running cyangenmod 12.1 and it's running quite stable for me and is just beautiful because of lollipop. but other users had issues with that.
kernels are within both roms.
Hi Rosi91,
thank you, I've read some threads about InsertCoin 5.0.8, but someone has bug with blutooth that's why I wait befor install it!
Insertcoin 3.7.0 could be nice to try for me.
Some more information about installing it.
Can I install the ROM by simply flashing Insertcoin3.7.0 zip file with TWRP in recovery mode?
I've some problems with USB drivers, sometimes it works and sometime not. I've tried many different drivers. So, if I can flash it by using TWRP that is better for me.
Does it need some other action before flashing the ROM, like change partition layout or... what ?
Does this installation wipe completely my SD card ? I mean, I would like to keep the Stock ROM zip file in the phone memory, to be sure to come back to stock if needed.
Cheers,
Marco

I think you already got the newest layout with your hboot version. So you can just flash it via twrp. You should be able to keep the files on your phone but save them first anyway
Thanks Rosi91
I will try this ROM in the next days !
Marco
... I'm reading IC thread but I cannot post there
So, does one can install Xceed kernel with IC 3.7.0 in the way to have more battery life/option ?

Ok
I've installed IC 3.7.0 + Xceed kernel + Synapse as pure.by suggests in IC thread p. 156.
The screen didn't work, then I reboot the phone it's working well. Also T2W runs !
Hope it doesn't crash...
I've and old HTC Desire X with Android 4.1.1 and Sense 4+, the internet browser allow to read web pages without banners, that's very useful option but I don't find it in IC 3.7.0.
I've also downloaded the last upgrade of HTC browser ... but it still doesn't give this option. Do you know how to enable it ?
Cheers,
Marco
since it's rooted, try minmin guard to get rid of the ads if you're using exposed framework or adaway. you could also try another browser with adblock plus extension.

Ok, I will try... but it's not the same because with the old browser option, not only the ads was avoided, the page was re-opened in a new totally cleaned window , no images, no colors, no ads... like a clean text file. That was nice to read

Flashed ROM won't take even with S-Off

After a tragedy with my S3, I'm having to limp along with my old One SV. Unfortunately I am having trouble getting this thing to keep a newer ROM. And before anyone says "turn s-off" I have S-Off already.
Booting to the boot menu it says:
moonshine S-OFF
K2_CL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-SPCS_003
HBOOT-1.01.4444
RADIO-1.1250.0516
OpenDSP-v9.2.0268.1214
eMMC-boot

I've tried jellybean flashing
I tried the viper ROM (which gets stuck flashing unless I don't install all the google apps)
Post every flash, I turn the phone off and then power it back up. For a little while it'll say something "correctly" like that it's android 4.4.... buuuuut it is still the default wallpaper and goes back to saying android 4.0 and of course the bugging to update to a new stock android is still present as is the "out of storage space" error message....
I've tried updating the recovery (currently a somewhat buggy cwm where the screen is 1/8th offset half the time... v6.0.2.8) and that hasn't worked... Typing this out I decided to try flashing the recovery once more since when I first was doing it I apparently had S-ON... So I flashed the latest TWRP (3.0.1-0-k2_cl) and..... now it's bricked.... it won't boot normally nor will it boot into recovery mode, but I can get to the hboot menu.... HALP! lol
The final kicker to my scenario is that I'm on linux and don't have access to any Windows machines, but I do have heimdall and adb installed.
Okay... So because I was still able to get into the HBoot menu and then put it into the Fastboot menu with the USB cable connected I was able to flash a new recovery.
I got the TWRP 2.8.5.0 recovery from http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/k2_cl
I was able to install fastboot and adb thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638673
I re-tried flashing the Jelly Bean rom I had with the same result as before the bad recovery problem occurred... It boots up, but it's still Android 4.1, even though it is S-OFF-ed.... And that shouldn't be happening... I'm pulling the battery and rebooting after flashing so nothing should be overwritten... What gives?
Your best way to go:
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...V_NV_Boost_2.20_150_release_389346_signed.exe
As far as i remeber, there was no custom rom that was made for k2cl.
correct.. there is no custom rom for the boost variant.. there is a partition swapper changing the 4gb media with the 1gb internal storages.. romcleaner works to get rid of all the boost garbage.. twrp will fit your screen.. havent used cwm since my hero
The Viper rom claims it covers all variants. And somewhere along the way I downloaded two Boost based roms aside from that.
I tried to get the RUU to work, but couldn't. I borrowed a friend's Windows laptop, installed adb and fastboot and it just would not connect or see my phone in the RUU. I even tried forcing the driver to be installed correctly, which never worked for some reason.
I ended up installing Link2SD and setting up a 16gb partition for apps. So at least it's not complaining about being out of space anymore. It is still wanting me to download the OTA update. Not the end of the world.
I do have a new issue though. For some reason the "wiper" app keeps crashing. Not sure what it is or where to find it. I suspect it's named differently and I either need to flush it or install an uncorrupted copy. Any suggestions?

This was a permission bug from updater script, when i remember.
Wiper is some wifi or network location service. If you don't need it, rename it or delete it.
