So I am testing a MS Surface and its expensive for what it is however I really like OneNote. My fall back device is a Note 12.2. Has anyone tried the Ink functionality in OneNote and the Note 12.2? I really like OneNote but the Surface is too slow for the money. If it were the same price as the Note it might be worth it.
TIA
I have done some basic tests of the OneNote ink/draw feature on the Note Pro 12.2 using the S-pen, and it works fine. The ink entries sync to OneNote Online and also to the OneNote 2013 app on my Windows 8.1 desktop.

Installed and works excellent. Though, it seems to be compatiable with Office 2003 formats, but not Office 2007. That seems a bit short sighted to me...
Still a nice find...
Can anyone point out the differences between Office 2K3 and Office 2K7 (besides the file format issue)?
Is migrating worth the hassle of updating a ROM?

Unless you use Office 2007 on your home PC, I really don't see the need to move to Mobile Office 2007. Sure, it has OneNote but PHM Notepad does about the same thing (well OneNote allows you to put pictures and/or sound in your notes, but I doubt I ever use that).
If you are cooking a rom, Office 2007 is significantly larger than Office 2003 so it takes up more space (even with it compressed with the Squeeze tool).
With that said, I'm putting Office 2007 in my new rom (or so far it looks like I am), but I don't know if I'd flash a new rom just for it.

Really its all about how many poeple use office 2007 at this point to waste the space, as office 2003 works ok on the PPC.!!!
I will not be going to the masses, i am sticking with 3003 in my rom! And if people dont like it well thats hard!!!
Thanks, guys. Based on your responses and other web chatter, I figure it's not worth it.
Guys, I use Office 2k7 in my desktop so I would like to have mobile office 2k7 in my device (the real 2k7)... Where can I find the cabs to install/upgrade my office mobile?
as far as i know, there aren't cabs to update.. you just have to update to a new rom.. but i may be wrong.

Help!
I have OneNote 2010, Windows 7 and a Touch Pro 2 running WM6.5
I had syncing through WMDC working and then it stopped (I accidentally deleted the OneNote Mobile Notebook). Now I get the 'Attention Required' message.
I have searched online and tried the fixes I have found. I have already tried:
Recreating the notebook
Deleting the cache folder
Reinstalling WMDC
Reinstalling OneNote 2010
Reinstalling Office Mobile
Hard resetting my phone!
It never recreates the OneNote Mobile Notebook and always says 'Attention Required'
Does anybody know if when Office 2010 is uninstalled from the PC, any files are left behind that might be causing this? If so, how can I get rid of them?
Does anybody have any ideas? I really want to be able to use OneNote Mobile 2010.
Hi,
I'm dealing with this issue as well, no solution found yet. I'm struggling with synchronization of my notes with my PC, having originally Office 2003 (where I could open PWI note files in Word) and upgraded to Office 2010 (where OneNote dedicated for Notes cannot open PWI files, nor Word can). Hello MS guys, what's up? Is that all you can do? You develop a fresh new version of software that actually doesn't do what it should do!!!
I want Microsoft to succeed, but they always do this!
Has anyone successfully used OneNote mobile? I get erratic syncing, no option to enter notes via "touchscreen writing". Important things disappear after syncing on regular basis. I had a very consistent method when I used 2003 with the notes and tasks. Upgrades to 2010, and haven't found any improvements with anything, just everything is more complicated and not as reliable. After hundreds of dollars, and hours of frustration...I'm going back to 2003!
Everything Microsoft comes out with these days makes me wonder what they are thinking over there! I no longer have any convincing arguments to promote them as good products when recommending software...
same here
are there any real solutions?
I know it's not a solution really, but after giving Windows Phone 7 a test run...I'm begrudgingly moving to Android. I've been a huge user of windows mobile over the years, but I'm finally jumping ship. Windows Phone 7 is totally sand-boxed and locked down, some people seem to like it...just not for me. I've been trying out other options the last few months since I saw the finished product of Windows Phone...I think after the initial time of getting everything converted over, Android is the way to go.
Temporarily to solve the OneNote things, I went back to using 2003. After I move to Android I will re-install 2010. I know...totally ridiculous, that I need to do this.
Hi
I have recently bought HTC Touch Pro 2. Since I am a heavy OneNote user, I was very disappointed to see that OneNote in WM6.5 is very restricted - no tabs, sections etc.
I then upgraded to Office Mobile 2010, hoping that OneNote would have improved but there is nothing there.
Is this expected or am I missing something? I was hoping to organise all my information in sections and tabs, just as I do on the PC.
Thanks,
Saime
PS Ironically OneNote app for iPhone seems to be a lot better - I would have thought I would get the same functionality on Microsoft's own OS i.e. WM6.5!
There is a big question to all developers to give / suggest a solution to following problem-
In Office 2013 Professional Plus, there is no Adobe Acrobat Ribbon available in various programs like Outlook, MS Word, Excel etc. Is this an issue at Microsoft side or Adobe side? Though we are paying pretty high amount to purchase these softwares, both Microsoft & Adobe are squeezing us without giving proper solution. Has anyone overcome to this issue?
