Sorry to keep bringing up old issues but it seems my ROM (1.90.707.4) did not respond to any of the recommended setting until now.
The issue is about making/answering a phone call without having the screen go blank AND having the mute when phone is faced down working together.
The recommended setting that works on my phone is
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\Sleep value from 1 to 0
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LightSensorPollingEnable from 1 to 0
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall from 1 to 0
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\GSensor\PollingInterval from 200 to530
Please let me know if this does not work for you.
With thanks
Thanks Taninu for the post. I was struggling to get this sorted on my Touch Pro - with the changes to the registry items screen is remaining on during call and calls can be silenced with the face down motion.
Cheers
not sure if this is what you want, but try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2632669 download No_Sleep_Raph.cab
EDIT: it does break the 'Face Down Mute Ring' function

I think the solution provided only works with specific ROM.
I notice that if I set the GSensor - PollingInterval higher than 530 then the mute when face down does not work.
So you might try playing around with that value. BTW, the original value was 200. Some suggested setting to 10000 to make the phone NOT go to sleep.
Today I made/received many calls , I realised that 80% of the time the TP does not goto sleep when it's near my ear. However I realised that around 20% of the calls the screen went blank again when I put it next to my ear eventhough TURN OFF BACKLIGHT was set to 3 minutes.
So it's not working correctly 100%,
Maybe I should increase the PollingInterval into a higher number ??
Trade off between mute when face down and blank screen

You know....I notice that with my phone too. But if you do increase the PollingInterval then you will definitely disable the mute when face down function.
Hi when I increase the Pollinginterval more than 530 than the reaction of the accelometer really slows down. I increased it to 10000 as I heard from some people here ...
For example when I view my photos and turn the TP around, the screen rotation does not respond as fast as it used to anymore actually it's very slow...
So I switced it back to 530 than the screen rotation respons is fast , but the TP may still goto sleep during a call......
So I guess a definite solution is needed.....
hi guys, i'm a bit of a noob here and to the WM environment, but how do you change these values? ie: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\Sleep value from 1 to 0

These are registry settings (similar to what you have on your desktop pc). You therefore need a registry editior to get to these values. I use Resco explorer, but there are some free tools available. Do a search on the forum.
tried but still no avail

What is our ROM number so we all know ?
cab worked
sweeeeet! I installed the No_Sleep_Ralph.cab on my ATT Fuze and it works beautifullly! Awesome! I tried diamond tweak and AEBPlus and niether worked for this exact application resolution (they both have other major benefits and worth your time to install). Thanks to the programmer of this .cab! YOU DA MAN!
the No_Sleep_Raph.cab works on my phone!
thanks a lot!
i have ever tried to change the registry ,but it didn't work. now, the cab have helped me. because i usually conect my phone to the pc as usb driver. before , when a call come in ,the usb driver disapeared ,and it came back after the call ended. after i installed the cab , it will never turns to sleep and the phone works as usb driver fine! it will never disapear!
Hi,
I have a problem with proximity sensor.
I looked through many threads here, but they didn't solve it to the end.
Problem:
When I am making/received call, my screen goes blank (near ear or far).
Tried using various apps (ProximityOFF, Sanity, ScreenBl), also tried adding "gsm.proximity.enable=false" to a build.prop file in system, didnt help.
At the moment I am using ScreenBl (it is always on), but it works kinda weird - it helps me keep screen awake during every SECOND call, i.e. call happens - screen off, call happens - screen on, call happens - screen off, call happens - screen on and so on.
Also, during that every second call with screen on, if i press speaker button twice, screen goes off (until call is ended).
So i wanted to ask, maybe someone found a solution of how to PERMANENTLY disable proximity sensor?
Thanks
P.S. I also cant figure out why it happens every SECOND call... maybe if you could help with that, we could find a solution?..
P.P.S. It's a Galaxy S, Darky's ROM, 2.3.3 - worked fine for many months, until couple weeks ago (dont know what changed....)
Edit: Same thing is happening without ScreenBl - still screen is on/off every second call...
hey,
similar issue with my SE xperia x10, the touchscreen broke in that corner where the sensor is so every time i make a call the screen gets locked and i have to remove the battery to end it.
the solution i found was intalling this app: Screen On from the market.
it keeps the screen on when some apps or process are running. i choose "active call".
please excuse my spelling, english is not my native language!
i hope you can solve the issue!!
rgrds,
Manuel
I have tried searching for some time and have encountered several different opinions on how to resolve the issue however, none so far work.
When taking a call or when placing a call after connecting to the call the screen goes blank in what seems to be 2 seconds even though I still have the unit in my hand and not up to my face and I am not touching/blocking the proximity sensors.
What is the definitive answer on what I can do to make a change to the settings to prevent the keypad/screen from blanking out while in a call?
I have the display settings set to keep the screen on when not in a call to 10 minutes and always on when connected to a power source. For the life of me I cannot find a resolution to this problem.
Exhibit II 4G with Stock ROM and now Cyanogen Mod9
have you got a proximiti sensor? Meaby you screen film blocked it
I think your proximity sensor is broken.. try to search in play store for "proximity sensor" i've heard of an app that can turn off your proximity sensor when calling but i don't know for rooted devices or non rooted
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Nope, I do have a screen film installed however, it clears and does not block the 2 proximity sensors on the top front of the phone.
I installed a Proximity Sensor APP from the market and it registers the device as working and activates the sensor at about 2 inches away.
I did notice today that when using the phone to call T-Mobile voice mail the dial pad does NOT blank during the call.
Does Android have a config file anywhere for this or is the screen blank setting built in to the system or perhaps the dialing app itself?
Hi,
I just updated my Droud Ultra and it looks like there are missing two features:
1. in the 21.xxx sw if I approached with my hand the proximity sensor the phone shows the time/missed events. Now if I want to see the clock I have to move / to jog the phone it is not enough to go close with my palm to proximity sensor
2. in the 21.xxxx when the phone was charging a stripe/band was going up and down -- now it is missing, too (
How could I enable this features or they are turned off ?
For the first one. Yes, waving the hand over the phone no longer wakes it up. According to one of the moderators on the Moto support forum, the ability to display notifications with a wave of the hand was a bug that Moto fixed. I know..... So there is no way to reactivate it 23.3.24. Sorry.

Also stock messaging app no longer allows you to open the address book and multi select recipients. Hangouts is the same.
I could slap whomever decided to do this!
Touchless controls actually goes to speakerphone now when making a call if you have the setting checked, it was broken in the last update and wouldn't actually go to speakerphone even though it was checked but worked before that one. I'm so glad it works now.
MIUI issue - unable to disable " prevent pocket dials " & stuck screen while calling
Hello everybody!
I have a little problem on every MIUI ROM I tried and that makes me so mad. I'm using original OPO flip cover and everytime I open it I get "Don't cover the top of the screen" message instead of lockscreen.
I disabled this feature in Display & Call settings but it didn't help. Is there anybody else solving this problem? It's soo annyoing.
Another my problem is that when I dial and call to someone the display turn immediately off and the call still runs. So I'm not able to control phone when calling. I can disable this feature but it's draining battery a lot so I would prefer to keep this function enabled but in the working condition.
I think there could be some problem with proximity sensor. I would like to calibrate the sensor wihin *#*#6484#*#* but when I dial this nothing happens -_- I'm quite desperate now. Didn't find any solution on xda and even oneplus forums. Tried 5 various MIUI ROMs and still same problems.
Thanks for reactions. :good:
