These little mods are for the latest (at time of writing) stock firmwares: N7100XXDLL4 / DLL5/ DLL7 and N7100UBDLL3
Whenever I flash a new ROM, the first thing I do is re-do these little mods (unless the ROM already includes them) and flash them, so I thought I would share as some of you may find them useful.
They are all in a Clockworkmod flashable zip.
*And now with CWM flashable Aroma installer with my stock launcher and PopupBrowser mods added to it, so now you can install the ones you want and leave the ones you do not want.*
Thanks to commandersafi for his tool.
Included are the folllowing:
SecMms.apk - No sms to mms convert, number of contacts limit removed, better smilies (see pic) and the option to keep the screen off when a new mrssage arrives (CWM_SecMms.apk_ScreenOff.zip only. Thanks to sling for the screen off/on mod))
SystemUI.apk - Black status bar instead of grey.
framework-res.apk - Stock Browser useragent set to desktop as default, better smilies for third party messaging clients (same as the ones in SecMms.apk), screen will now not come on when unplugging from charger/usb (I found this really annoying!), the menu bar (if you enable it) has been reduced in size (see pic to see the size it looks) and the lockscreen rotation has been enabled (only in CWM_AROMA_Stock_UBDLL3_Mods.zip).
SecLauncher2.apk - Stock launcher mod: 6 x 7 icons instead of the stock 4 x 4 and also has up to 7 icons in the dock instead of the stock 5, plus with 6 x 7 icons in the app drawer instead of the stock 5 x 5. (Only in the Aroma installer version)
PopupBrowser.apk - It is now larger (see pic to see the size it looks). I did not see the point in having the PopupBrowser so small as I was always 'maximising' it. Now, with this mod, there is no need to. (Only in the Aroma
installer version)
SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk - This is the default weather widget from the Note 1 (N7000) which has the 5 day forcast on the widget, it has been modded to fit the Note 2 (N7100) screen size (see pics). Even the app the widget opens up into has been modded as they both bled off the screen due to the Note 1's screen resolution, This widget is an addition to the already installed Accuweather widget and nothing gets removed or overwritten. And I will add that they took me hours to sort out! (It is in its own CWM flashable zip)
You should be able to use these mods for odexed as well as deodexed roms, as the odex files for SecMms.apk, SystemUI.apk, PopupBrowser.apk and SecLauncher2.apk, if you have them, will be deleted when the apps are flashed, I have not tested them on a stock odexed rom but there should be no problems.
Both flashable zips will work on stock (and maybe custom) XXDLL4/5/7 and N7100UBDLL3.
How to:
1. Download the CWM flashable zip
2. BACKUP YOUR ROM! Just in case.
3. Reboot into recovery and flash zip.
4. Reboot.
5. Click 'THANKS'

*If you use your Note 2 to download the file, please use a browser other than the stock one, otherwise it may just download a large .php file.*

How to:
1. Download the attached modded SecLauncher2.apk
1. Go to /system/app and rename SecLauncher2.apk to SecLauncher2.apk.bak (in case you want to revert back)
2. Copy over the modded SecLauncher2.apk to /system/app, rename to SecLauncher2.apk , set permissions, reboot, done.
Please note SecLauncher2_10x6x8_NoScroll.apk will have no app labels on the home screen pages due to the cells being so small.

Please note CWM_SecMms.apk_ScreenOff.zip is the same as the mod above but with the added option in the app settings of having the screen come on/stay off when a new message arrives, if you have an odexed rom, make sure you delete the SecMms.odex file before flashing. (Thanks to sling for the screen off/on mod)

That's weird! I have just followed the link and downloaded the file (31.9mb) without any problem. I don't know what to suggest?

Try using a different browser, the file is fine.
I have just installed the latest N7100XXDLL7 and these mods work as they should, which is no surprise as DLL7, DLL5 and DLL4 are essentially the same

I tried to install with CWM Touch 6.0.25 and aroma didnt start. I tried twice. Wanamlite DLL5 here!
I moved the file I wanted manually.

Hello padlad,
Thank you for the mods.
I have one important find that you should know. IT DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY, specifically the framework-res mod, WHEN Simplistic Framework is installed. I'm pretty sure I installed everything correctly. So there must be a conflict somewhere.
What happens - the home screen shrinks to about 1/2 the size, on all pages.
I'm reverting back from a backup and will install only the SecMms mod in Aroma. I'll let you know what happens.
Update - All is good with just the SecMms mod.

I'm running my launcher @ 270dpi and with your launcher mod looks really great but when I open a folder the size is really small.
Anyway to increase the folder size to the same as original and remove page dots?

Edit: nevermind I modded my original omega 10 launcher with default folder settings and 6x7 app draw and at 270dpi it looks awesome.

Try using a different browser, the files are ok.
Added a resized (larger) PopupBrowser mod (see pic on first post) to the Aroma package zip.

Any file that I edited, that is also in the theme/MOD you are using previous, will break it. This goes for any MOD./theme. Sorry. If you show me what theme I can try and make a patch and PM you.

Tried the clock mod, I was using kindacrap mods to accomplish same thing. So I reload rom, patch, kernel then clock mod. When I restarted phone my system UI, was constantly FC'ing. Any one else try this, if so how's did you make it work. I use kindacrap, for this one mod, would like to just use this.

That's what I'm using it for and it works flawlessly. I seriously run it at time of fresh install of Clean Rom without a hitch then installed Wasabi's theme over it. And to me it works better than koc because the time doesn't get cut off and repositioned.

Did not work for me on CleanROM Lite Edition 4.5. Lots of hotboot until I pulled the battery and re-flashed the ROM.
I can't seem to get any of these to work, I've tried flashing over Cleanrom 5.5.1 with and without my Wasabi theme and every time I've had to restore a nandroid backup because it didn't work.. on reboot I get to the lockscreen but it's black, unresponsive, and my status bar shows up for about 5 seconds then disappears.. only a battery pull and restore fixes it
I'm probably messing up something very simple but I can't figure it out

I tried this on mohans UCMC1 deodexed rom..boots only to at&t screen.stays there and never boots into the system...any idea why its doing that?used the latest cwm as well.

Yea.100%...I know you havent seen my name over here but I just came over from the htc evo section.i am in no way shape or form a noob.lol just new to at&t and samsung.but I guess u have to ask these question just to make sure..sometimes
Im working on a slimmed down optimized version of mohans stock ota deodexed..when I finish it and flash it to my phone,im gonna test the redownloaded 23 mod toggle on there..just restored my phone twice today...little nandroided out for the moment.should know by this evening if its working for me or not. Thanks again for your response.

so i got my slimmed down rom booted up and running very smooth..just need to do a few more optimizations and add SU and ill be ready to serve it up to the rest of the world for use.
After i booted into the ROM,i booted back into recovery and flashed the SU/Busybox.zip,booted back into the rom....redownloaded your toggle mod and booted back into recovery..flashed it and now its running great..even the flashlight is working.lol
(something i noticed...the original file i downloaded from you was like 500kb larger than the 2nd one i downloaded....very odd,cuz ive never seen the the bad download actually a larger file than the right one...just thought it was weird..)
But all is well now and THANK YOU for the awesome mod!! the stock toggles piss me off!! how the hell are you gonna have the DATA toggle png's in the framework but no actual toggle for data!!?? :victory:
BTW,the Theme for it is clean...i like the ICS blue..but you should make one thats a minimal (white) and also a stock..just a thought.lol

Well it looks to me like the only thing there isnt a toggle for that I noticed,was toggle on/off motion..I dont use motion and im not requesting it by any means....but if your ever really bored and want to fiddle...lol

Hi..UCMC1 de-odexed here , I pushed all 3 files to their places , lidroid-res.apk in framework , LidroidSettings.apk and SystemUI.apk in system/app (renamed original systemui.apk to .bak , set permissions to 664 for all , clearned systemui cache in all apps , rebooted , phone boots fine , android upgrading , goes to desktop but no status bar .. Playing with advanced settings for toggles didn't help , rebooting again also didn't help , no status bar lol

try the other way, make a backup of systemui original
flash toggles see if it works, if it works delete the flashed files put back original system ui and try again to push them...
I always have problems when I try to push files manually
btw: I've seen that I have to delete the backup in order to work when pushed, try moving the backup in a diff folder, like exsd...

i made edited your togglemod to have the stock battery (ICS BLUE) instead of the circlemod battery,for everyone (including myself) who HATE circlemod batteries...you can add it to the op,just throw my name in there for editing the files.

Its all good...I flashed the stock ROM before work..couldn't look at the circle batter any longer.and I got bored. So I just fixed the issue myself.figured I'd share the wealth.

you can extract the png from systemui, there are about 200png, open with 7zip and copy.

I'm working on Superbean ROM v1.3.1 files, so this MOD will work flawlessly if you already on root, deodexed, XXLT4, preload system app files, have CSC folder/files, AND 320 DPI.
TW Launcher + accuWeatherWidget + GoogleSearchWidget from S4
4x4 home grid size, like galaxy s4/note 2. (menu grid size is default)
auto rotate 360
wallpaper scrolling + page looping OFF (so it will look nice), for page looping OFF you MUST have CSC folder/files
page count until 9
layout accuwetherwidget looks different but still looks nice, I'll update next time

white theme like galaxy S4 with best size
Stock Keyboard

enable secondary symbol -- you MUST have CSC folder/files

unfortunately it still has Superbean Addons menu, so if your ROM isn't Superbean it will make FC when you click the Superbean Addons menu

How to install:
- Backup your original File
- flash file zip below from CWM
- for polaris office and samsung apps just install
Some Tips:
1. for backup, copy my zip file to another folder on your computer and replace all things inside with yours (preload / non preload system will has different location), so if everything goes wrong, you can easly restore by flashing your original file
2. if you don't want to use all things above, just remove file FROM ZIP that you don't want install
example:
lockscreen - /system/framework/framework-res.apk
videoplayer - /preload/symlink/system/app/videoplayer.apk AND all inside /system/lib/*
keyboard - /preload/symlink/system/app/samsungIME.apk
etc.
3. if you're non preload system apps
compare all my files inside the zip with yours original file.
example:
if your AccuWeatherWidget.apk has location in /system/app/ then move my file AccuWeatherWidget.apk to /system/app like yours.
etc
4. if you come from another stock ROM 4.1.2, you can try and tell me always do backup first!

I don't know, but I guess not.
you can try to modify yourself, I found THIS guide to enable Auto Correct.
Why don't you mod it for next update? Because Samsung keyboard isn't perfect without auto correction. Some more my laptop spoiled. Can't do anything. Lol.

So this is a rather heavily customized Keyguard, taken from Xperia Z3 (some Xperia Z3 exclusive features had to be removed, like One Time Pass and Bluetooth Unlock), and brought to Xperia Z1, and it was modified purely by editing Smali code. This probably will work on Z1s too, not sure.
This mod removes the "Change lockscreen wallpaper" option in Personalization settings and adds some customization to the main lockscreen, see screenshots.
This is only intended for 14.4.A.0.108 and 14.4.A.0.157, because it replaces your firmware2.jar file, which is different in every firmware version.
More versions will be added later.
You may use it in your custom ROMs, no need to ask my permission!
BEFORE YOU FLASH:
* Tested only on Xperia Z1 14.4.A.0.108 and 14.4.A.0.157.
* Works on deodexed ROMs only!
* This mod does NOT work well with GraviryBox's lockscreen mods, so turn "Lock targets" off (I'll add my own Lock targets feature in the next version).
* You must have "app/ExperienceFlow2LiveWallpaper.apk" for "Xperia (Particles)" to work! (In Xperia Z1 it's there by default so no worries)
HOW TO INSTALL:
1) If you are using deodexed stock ROM, add these lines to build.prop (this is VERY important!): ( Thanks a lot @niaboc79 )

dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=v=n,o=v,m=y
2) Backup and delete "app/XpeiaLockScreen.apk" (on stock/custom ROMs) OR "app/LockscreenSettings.apk" (on some custom ROMs)
3) Backup "priv-app/Keyguard.apk" and "framework/framework2.jar" in case of any failure.
4) Flash one of the attached packages (according to your firmware version).
5) After flashing, wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache!

Well basically it's just the stock lockscreen or the blinds lockscreen (from older Jelly Bean versions) or the normal particle effect lockscreen. There's nothing visually different (unless you set it in the settings). Most of the changes are under-the-hood, it's in the code.

I'm surprised you actually tried to flash it on 14.4.A.0.157 firmware, while this package replaces your framework2.jar with a modified one from 14.4.A.0.108. Obviously it would crash. I'm on 108 myself so I'll update when I got the time. It's just a side-project after all.

Well working on mine, romAur9.1(108 firm). Anyway, I found an issue regard camera on lock screen, which isn't work and shows System UI reboot. Couldn't get logcat (sorry), but I think Blind might make this failure.

Hi mate,
I'm having problem with this mod, everytime i try to enter the lockscreen settings i get systemui fc. Currently running .108 with modified systemui (transparent notification panel and different number of quick setting in a row is what is touched). I have attached a log file, hope it helps.

java.lang.VerifyError means that the method signatures found at runtime did not match what was there at compile-time. Do you have a stock framework-res.apk / framework.jar? It seems like your log has many errors. Might be related.

My framework-res contains advanced framework mod, hwere you get sony iu on other apps, the same goes for framework.jar as it seems to take place in the same mod. I'm thinking that these two mode are not compatable.

It's just that you can't compile this mod against any possible framework mods. The error log doesn't specify what exactly failed to verify there, unfortunately.
Even though I'm pretty sure that I'm using Advanced Framework too.

I'm talking about the mode that switches all the connections (3G, wi-fi, etc.) off when you're in an airplane so your phone wouldn't mess with plane's equipment.
Look at the attachment. Turn it on and then off to see if your systemui fc.
Guys this is a very experimental app, and all mods were done manually with no error checking (Smali has a very minimal error checking), so if something was missed in the coding process take it with understanding. I have very little time to work on this project but I'm getting to it.
