[Q] AT&T LG G2 All files erased, Twrp wont mount, please help - AT&T LG G2

So heres the story....wife has had lg g2 since it came out with 0 issues. About 3 days ago the phone starts doing some crazy ****, flipping through screens by itself, opening and closing apps, deleting things, rebooting, changing system settings. This was after earlier in the day she had downloaded some random games for my son to play (not sure if this was the cause/is at all relevant, just trying to be as detailed as possible).
My first though was that one of the games may have had some virus/malware **** going on, so did a factory reset. The reset was successful, however the issues continued. Next though was to root/unlock/install custom rom. (I have done this to all my phones, with minimal issues, so i felt fairly confident in doing so) So i rooted, installed twrp 2.7.0.0, and flashed this rom - ATT-stock-rooted-D80020K.zip - and all seemed well. Phone booted and behaved normally for the rest of the day (12 hours or so). Plugged in charger, went to sleep.
Next morning, wake up, grab phone, and its showing the LG logo (like when you first power it on). Restart (power button long press) and it boots into TWRP, and i go looking for the rom file to reflash, and its gone. All files are gone. In the file explorer in TWRP, i can see the files,(data, system, boot, and so on) but when i click on them there in nothing in any folder. All downloads gone. Everything.
But i can still get into TWRP, so i thought ok, ill just plug into pc, mount the phone, copy appropriate files, reflash rom, and all will be good. WRONG. I cannot get TWRP to mount the phone, and at this point ive got a pretty expensive paperweight.
All my unlock/flash/root experience has been on HTC devices up to this point, and i have never had an issue like this.
If anybody can advise what to do next, Im listening. Ive exhausted my knowledge on the subject at this point and NEED HELP PLEASE.
Thanks in advance.

"Converting data partition..." Problem

Alright, allow me to summerize to you guys the series of screw ups that happened in the day that I've had my captivate.
Basically, it's like this. I got this phone from my brother (it used to be his). Now when I got it, I began basically erasing his contents and setting up mine. The Phone is on the Cognition OS and everything seemed fine.
Now, when I tried to set up my google account, it said I had to do a factory reset, I did that. Then I realized the market place app was no longer there :/
I did another factory reset, still didn't help, and started looking around for info.
I told my buddy this and he said he could fix it. So he get's the update.zip for rooting the phone, sets it up on the SD card, and goes to root the phone normally. Except when he restarts the phone after, it doesn't go to the set up screen, so he just starts it normally and enters the setup screen by holding home+volume up+power.
Then he presses the reinstall packages, and the phone seems to get to work on the update pack...
Now, every time I turn on the phone the voice says "converting data partition to optimize extension four", turns off, then repeats.
I've looked up this problem and it seems to have something to do with voodoo, but the causes in the other cases the causes were different.
Can someone please help me out here? I've also tried doing a hard reset by holding the volume down button and pressing power, but nothing seems to take me to the recovery mode.
HELP.
Did you pull the battery during this our did you let it run? Should let it run.
Does your phone boot up at all?
At&t or rogers?
Do you have a windows pc with usb drivers installed?
What its your build number, located under battery, something like 1008?
Answer these questions and we can get you back up and running
-Well after he did the reinstall thing we let it run for like 15 minutes, then he pulled the battery out.
-The phone only shows the AT&T screen, say's the "converting data partition..." thing, then goes blank and does it again. I've let it run for like 10-15 minutes before having to turn it off because I couldn't have the speech going off.
-I have a windows PC, and but I'm not sure if I have the drivers installed. I have Kies installed and when I plugged the phone in before Kies could recognize the phone (though it wouldn't fully connect, it would just say "connecting" on the kies screen).
-The Model is SGH-I897, that's the only relevant thing I see under the battery, that good enough?
Thanks a lot.
No, your phone has a build, on phone under battery, the word build is not listed. Something between 1006-1012
If we are going to do this you need to be active, I can not wait 20 minutes in between responses
Sorry the internet kinda crapped out actually.
And I see a 1007 between the bar codes, that it?
Yes
Before we get started try this
Take battery, sim, ext sd our of phone
Plug usb into pc but not phone
Put battery back in
Hold volume up and down, while holding plug in usb
Screen should come on with android with shovel
You can pull the battery again
Confirm this happened
Yep, it happened.
It may be easier if we use gtalk, log in on your pc using google id, send me an invite [email protected]. This way we know when each other respond
Just sent u the inv

Have you gone back to stock and then reflashed? Seems like some files are getting corrupted. Because you have a voodoo kernel I would follow these steps. Make sure to back up.
1. Use Odin to flash a non vodoo kernel.
2. Flash stock rom and master clear
3. Reflash rom of choice if it is 2.2
3a. If you want 2.3 follow the tut on it.
4. Breath a sigh of releive lol

Bootloader freeze

Ok. So i have completely screwed up my phone. I have rooted my phone and installed a few different ROMs on it. I have clockwork recovery installed on my phone and I was using it to clear my data to install a new ROM. I cleared my /system and then did a "reset data/factory reset" and I believe the factory reset is what messed everything up. Now when I boot up my phone it shows "Google" and has a little progress bar that gets to 100% and does nothing after that. My phone will show up on my computer as an ADB device but nothing more. When I boot into my bootloader, it freezes up completely. The volume keys and power button don't do anything.
I have clockwork mod installed but I can not get into it. My last ROM installed was Slim ICS from slimroms[DOT]com (I can't post links yet ) I'm not sure if that is needed but I thought I might throw that in.
Any help would be much appreciated. I am without a phone right now because of my toying around with it.
EDIT: I have solved my issue. I just came back to tell what I did in case someone else hits this problem. Every time I took the battery out and put it back in, my phone would instantly turn on. After about a million times of taking my battery and putting it back in, I noticed that every so often it wouldn't boot up (either because I put the battery in weird and readjusted it or left the battery out for a long time). Whenever my phone would not boot up on its own and I booted into the bootloader, everything would work great. Once I realized this, I left my battery out for about half an hour, put it back in, and everything worked out great. I installed a new ROM and my phone is back to the way it was.

Fighting a lost cause?

I've got a rooted (Super SU, but the original root manager was Superuser) LG C800 that I was having problems with. To be specific, I installed some apps on to the system. Some of these apps would be Titanium Backup for root, Avast Mobile Security, ROM Tool Box Lite, Super SU, and a quite a few others. From day one they seem to be kicked right back to my S.D. card, but not all at the same time, and some would stay on the system. I read where I should move the apps back to my S.D. card and try to re-install them on the system minus the data. When I did, the phone went nuts. Now it stays in a restart mode but never fully boots up. Can I salvage it, and if so, please tell me how?! I have tried the hard reset/recovery boot where you hold down the power button, volume, and a few other keys, but it did not work. I'm a broke college student and can't really afford to buy a new phone. I used this one for everything including tethering it to get my assignments done at home and turned in on time. Please help! I'm open to suggestions....... My phone will be completely off. When I plug it into my computer, via U.S.B., it automatically turns it on whether I want it to be on or not. Then it starts off in "reboot recovery" mode, will boot all the way to the point to where the home screen would normally turn on, but then it starts in that "boot loop" all over again but never fully boots up before going back to the beginning of that "boot loop" yet again. I can't even get it to register on my laptop as being plugged in. The reason I took the apps I placed on the system off was because sometimes when I'd re-boot the system the apps would be on the system and sometimes back on my S.D. card without my involvement of any kind other than rebooting my phone. Is completing a Nandroid recovery or re-installation of my ROM even possible with my computer no longer recognizing it as even being plugged in? From what I can tell it won't be. Am I fighting a lost cause or is it salvageable?
Rooted myTouch Q 4G, a.k.a. LG C800
I believe it has a 2.3.4 GRJ22-perf, and then something like 2.6.35.7? I can't remember off the top of my head, and I can't pull it up on my phone anymore or else I'd double check.
Have you tried booting into recovery?
(More about my phone from the original post) Honestly.........I'm not what you may consider technologically inclined. I have however done about as much research online concerning this matter as any one person can do. I've looked it up on all major sites, and many smaller ones too, that post remedies for phone, or "human" if you'd rather, malfunctions. They all talk about still being able to reach a home screen or doing the whole holding the power and volume decrease buttons until I "reboot recovery" screen appears (if that's what you're referring to as doing a recovery reboot as). Don't forget the one where you hold hold the power and volume decrease buttons along with the "A" and "F" keys as well. I even tried one from here where you're supposed to push the genius button after the Android figure leaves the screen. My phone won't allow me to do either. Basically if it's online, I myself, or this girl that's been staying with me, have tried it without any results. On the initial boot the Android figure and the box with the arrow coming out of it show up and it boots until just about the point that it use to switch over to the home screen and it will start the whole "boot loop" over again. The thing is though that the Android figure and box aren't there any other time after the first boot, and with every boot loop it makes after that, the time is reduced from the beginning of the loop to the end when it starts all over again. The phone won't shut off unless I remove the battery and even though my laptop no longer recognizes the device, when I plug my phone into it or another power source and it's off, it automatically turns itself on and begins that boot loop all over again. there is one thing I have yet to try. I read on one site where I could download a custom ROM on my S.D. and then try reboot it, but it never makes it to the point in which the files on my S.D. card are ran, much less scanned. I am still 100% open to any and all suggestions in the diagnosis of this issue. I may record and place a video on one of the more popular "tube" sites to better show or further explain what's happening and then come back on here to post the link?! Feel free to reply back if it's possible you can help before I'm able to complete that later this evening. And thanks for any and all help in advance to everyone.

[Q] Bootloop Issues

Okay, this is my first time actually posting anything on XDA. I won't bother with an introduction and I'll just get to the meat of the issue. I am currently running CM 10.1 JB 4.3 with vincom's Superlite 4.0 (kudos to vincom btw, easily the best rom for this phone imo). Now, I know the problem is not related to the ROM as this exact same issue was occurring when I was running the Liquid Smooth ROM (I apologize I don't remember the dev for that one right now) and the Slimbean JB 4.2 ROM. Without fail, when I turn my phone off, restart it, whatever, it shows the Samsung logo for the appropriate amount of time, then goes to a blank screen. Zip, nada, nothing else. I've alowed it to sit for an entire night in such a state to see if it was just really slow. Still nothing. To make things stranger, when you hold down the power button to hard reset, the screen does the CRT monitor off animation... No clue why it manages that, but not to start up. Tried just tapping the power button when in this state and it still does nothing. I won't bother with logs unless someone truly wants them, but here's where things get really interesting (at least to me): I found that I can get the phone back up and running, and so far I've done this 50+ times and it's still a working method, but if I 3 button hard restart (or just 3 button power on) the phone to recovery, which for me is TWRP 2.6.3.0, there are no issues entering recovery. Then, after many many many trials and errors I found that if I make a recovery image for JUST the data (instead of the cache, android secure, etc etc), then flash the image for just that data, then tell the phone to reboot from within TWRP, viola! The phone boots up, no issues, no lost data, nothing. I would really just like to get this issue resolved . Sorry if this was more of a book to read than necessary, i'm just very confused and thought a detailed explanation would be best. Thanks to anyone for any leads, ideas, or suggestions!

"UIDs on the sytem are inconsistent" error message + deleted data partition

Hey,
yesterday i faced a problem i didn't knew of yet. As i mentioned sometimes, i came from an One M7 2 weeks ago as it didn't work the way it should - camera useless and awful battery life. I rooted the M7, had problems with it and so on - just how it is with a rooted phone + custom roms.
However, due to the DRM i didn't root my Z3 yet. Yesterday i took it out my pocket, thought it was a bit warm.. nevermind. It worked. 30 minutes later i pulled it out again, still warm, and screen wouldn't turn on. I reset it (power and vol+ for those who didn't know), tried to boot again.. well, it took several minutes and finally showed me the attached error message. The system performance was really, really low. Everything stuttered, i couldn't even enter my pin. A few forced reboots later i could finally enter my pin and get into my system only to notice that my data partition wasn't doing fine. I had to set language and so on in the initial setup process, apps kept force-closing in seconds. My own apps were still on the device, however when i tried to open WhatsApp there was no data there, i should have gone through the registration process. The phone froze after seconds each time. I tried to enter the fastboot menu (is it called that way?) while booting to just do a factory reset, didn't find the button combination. So finally, after i found home without navigation from no man's land (sure, why doesn't it happen at home anyway..), i managed to boot it, get through settings and initiate a factory reset. Of course, all the apps were deleted then and i could install all apps like LightFlow again. Had to re-enter all the settings i did in those kind of apps, it was kind of annoying.
So, my questions: Why the hell did this happen to my Z3? Not rooted, didn't even think of it. There wasn't a day on the One M7 without flashing anything and it never happened. It wouldn't have been as bad as it was on the Z3, as i HAD root, could have wiped data in TWRP in a matter of seconds and also had backups of my data, which i of course didn't have for my unrooted Z3.
Is it likely to happen again? Can any app do this on a non-rooted phone? I read a bit about the error, that it would be caused by some apps, but not in the extent as it happened on my phone. Most of the times it would just be an annoying error message.
I got a thing in always getting a defective unit, so i hope it isn't happening again on the Z3
Maybe the internal flash is corrupted/failing. I had a similar issue with my HTC One X I went to nap one day and half hour later it shut down, it restarted but boot looped. Eventually it showed no data partition as being mounted and completely died. They replaced the motherboard.
Better contact Sony, maybe you need a replacement.
Mh, actually that's the least thing i want to do.. I'd have to wait for at least 2 weeks to get it back and chances are that they won't do a thing or damage it (bad experiences with my former Razr i). It works just fine after the factory reset, no errors yet. If it should happen again, i'd of course send it in for repair but i think, until then i will use it normally, with more caution and backups of course.
Probably the cleanest solution HERE
