I noticed that the fps with the Droid mini/maxx/ultra when in low light conditions Hovers around 15fps... Whats mind boggling to me is phones i've had in the past (htc evo 4g lte for example) Held a solid 28 - 30 fps in the same low light conditions with now outdated hardware. I did have a droid 3 back in the day and once rooted you could change a line of code and set min low light fps to 25. Im wondering what work arounds, if any, are there to improve the fps of videos recorded in low light situations.
If I had to guess(I will) its extending the exposure time for each frame.

So I've moved to the Thunderbolt from the Incredible and I noticed that the intensity of the LED bulbs are not even close to the ones on the Incredible. I tested the flashlight app and at the highest setting, my Incredible could almost light up a room. The highest setting on the Thunderbolt seems like the middle setting on the Incredible.
Not sure why they chose lower intesity bulbs given the limited usage that they get from them; it can't simply be a battery issue.
Well the Incredible also had an issue with washing out pictures when using the flash because it was too bright. Perhaps the T-Bolt is calibrated a little better?
Not to mention, when ever Cyanogen 7 is working on the T-Bolt, you would be able to use the flashlight app (torch) because it has an high intensity setting that maxes out the LEDs.
I was shooting my friend's dance performance at a show a few days ago, I tried filming 2 video ahead, each with 1 minute long, then let the phone settle for 1 minute and start shooting my friend's dance, it only lasted 1 and half minutes then it showed temperature too high force close, after a minute I started shooting again around 1 minute and 20 seconds the camera force closed. The whole filming was on 1080P, storage is SD card, class 10, is this normal? I remember when I use my older phone, I can shoot 10 minutes no problem. What is your guys' average? Thanks.
Hey, how much your phone heat after it shutdown camera?
I had same problem but my phone heats up to 75C, so i found a way to disable thermal control. but high temperature may damage your phone / battery and do it with your own risk.
With this method i recorded 15 minutes 1080P @30fps video without any damage but temp rised to about 80C.

Thanks, I will look at the temperature next time.
Depending on the ambient temperature I can record [email protected] for:
5-7 minutes at 20-23 C
2-5 minutes at 25-28 C
That is starting from cold. I assume the overheat is expected, however I'd like to know how it compares to others. Would you please try it and post your results here? Thanks

Well I can record 4K/1080p60FPS without any issues between 20-25 C...cpu temp reads up to 52C...
But it's the start of summer here and we usually have 28-32 C! (more than 80% humidity).
Now I can record up to 5mins of 4K/1080p60FPS before getting the temperature warning message! (start from cold)
cpu temp shows 56-58 C these days which is normal...
At least on my device, the video recording is a strong function of ambient temperature. While I don't actually use it to record continuously for more than 5 minutes, which used to work fine in winter, now I had the unpleasant surprise to have it stop the camera in the middle of my shooting my child's performance, less than 5 minutes, air conditioned but still at around 25C I reckon. I will be wary then about filming in 60fps from now on.

Managed to record 18 minutes FullHD 60fps before camera shut down. Ambient temp 22C
Thanks. That's good, I guess. Compared to my numbers.
Update: tried it again, for science as at work I have a quite precise thermometer, 24.7 C. Got the warning at around 4 mins, stopped at 5min40sec.

Hello,
I have played with the U11+ for a couple of days by now, making many tests, but something that got my mind was the fact that the video at 60fps is not 60fps, and is not even close.
I have tried to record in [email protected], but all the videos come in really low fps, around 30-35. I can immediately notice that is not even changing the fps when I change the mode, and with the output is the same.
Someone with similar experiences?.
Thanks!
Is it was in day sun or at night ?
I think the frames will drop at night but night as much as 30-35 fps
Make sure you have selected 60fps in camera options

As I said, the option is selected and I have tested both in daylight and night.
Frames shouldn't drop that much, because what's the point to choose the option of 60fps if it will record at 30fps?.
I think is a bug of the camera.
Note 20 ultra become very very hot when taking pictures and video.. my phone was exynoss.. especially at camera area... everyone have same issue??
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It depends on your resolution. If you do 4k-8k then it will get hot since it takes more resources on CPU and camera.
The lower resolution you take the less load on CPU and camera is needed so then it won't get has hot.
The cpu/gpu needs to work more if you are taking videos... The exynos is also a hothead... Also the sensor produces heat... My friends note 20 is a snapdragon and also warm if he takes videos (4k) but my girlfriends eyynos is a bit hotter... The sensors are also different. Do you have a case on your phone?
people say this every year on release of a new note.
yes its normal. this is why the camera times out after X minutes of inactivity because the sensor is getting hot and draining juice more than normal.
