I hope, it is the right place to ask and there is a (simple?) solution to my problem.
I'm using a Samsung Omnia 7, now with Dynamics 2.2.
I have got a problem to use an email-account from TU Dortmund with my WP7-device. Because it works without problems with Windows8 and iOS (and even with LiveEssentials under Win7), I assume, it's a WP7-problem.
I installed Dynamics-ROM to see, if this problem exists in a custom ROM and it doesn't work either.
I used the imap4 setting in WP7, installed all security-certificates provided by the university (after WP7 said, the certificates are not valid), and some time ago, I tried different port-settings. (as newbie here, I'm not allowed to post the links to show you the different informations)
My guess: WP7 can't handle the certificates like it should.
Perhaps someone here can give me another hint, what to do or to try. Or someone of the ROM-developers could have a look for it?
Some help/advice would be nice.

Since there is so much floating around on this subject here, I'm wondering if a mod or whomever might be able to get it all in one place for folks like me (formerly) who were about to cry because they couldn't sync?
As my little contribution, allow me to tell you my fix... I had no firewall issue, my drivers were all up to date, everything *should* have been synching correctly, but for one thing...
I needed to enable the DHCP Client service on my computer. Without this being on, the PC can't grab the network ID the device so desperatly wants to provide. Once I got this started, everything syncs like a breeze.
Hopefully this might help somebody out there who's about to pull their hair out. Good luck y'all, and add my name to the list of folks that thinks this site is just the coolest thing. Kickass!

Hi Guys
After trawling countless forums and google searches i have finally found a Ventrilo client for PPC and smartphones.
The programs is called CEntrilo http://www.g3gg0.de/wordpress/projects/centrilo
Now I installed this and was like "Hell YEAH!", it connected perfectly and I was able to use all the features that I love in normal ventrilo.
Then I hit a snag....when i unhooked from ActiveSync i lost connection and no matter what i did i could not get connected through WiFi or GPRS..Dammit! All i kept getting was the error "host name not found"
Once again I trawled google to find a solution. BINGO! I found that if you redirect a host to the IP (such as signing upto no-ip.org and creating a host) and then used that as the IP it works.
So anyways I hope this is usefull to all u hardcore gamers and Voip ppl

What if there is already a Server established and you can't access it? Or do you still go to the No-IP.org site?? Cuz the site makes it sound like your signing up for a server or something along those lines.... sorry I'm not really understanding how it all works.

centrilo dosnt work with new vent servers
all new vent servers do not support centrilo (as far a i can tell, would love to be wrong)
but..
if some one wans o work on i i have an old vent-server app.
Could you please tell me what version of ventrilo server do I need to connect on with centrilo. Thanks!
my centrilo was working fine up 2 Version 2.3.0 get hat and you'll be fine. 3.0 stops centrilo working. not had time to work out why but there you go

That's weird ... I can't connect to server version 2.1.4. You probably don't know if there is any bug.
I miss this program so much it hurts. There must be alternative. Perhaps some handy programmer would like to take a crack at this?
Yeah, updated the server to 3.0.2 and Centrilo is hosed.

The developer refuses to update his client to work with the 3.0 Vent servers. The new vent clients talk to the official servers and the CEtrilo developer hates the "we want to control everything" mindset.
So we are out of luck. Is there anyone else out there tackling this project?
Ok, I just found you guys while searching for a Vent program for my Blackberry Curve. Sorry if this is a dead topic and sorry in advance because I know nothing about this stuff.
I was looking at the Centrilo program but it didn't seem that the site was too user friendly so I was hoping someone here could help me out. Does Centrilo still work at all? And how do I install it, do I need to do it from my laptop or can I just install straight to the BB?

I'm trying to get real data on how much use I get from my TC between charges. Is anyone running a utility to monitor the cumulative amout of time that you've had your device switched on for since the last battery charge?
I Googled and found a few apps but they were all last updated in 2005 or 2006 and specified Windows CE or Windows 2005 CE as the supported OS; although they probably are just fine on WM6 I'm always nervous of putting very old apps on my device.
Has anyone found anything more recent or already tried one or more of these old ones on their Touch Cruise and can verify that they work?
I have a preference for something that isn't a Today plugin, I'd rather just leave a straightforward app running in the background since I don't expect to always want to be monitoring this, but if a Today plugin as all that I can get then that's OK.

Yes please! I did make a post about this on your PowerGuard forum, complete with some suggestions regarding a really simple way to implement it, but I posted from my laptop not my main computer so I didn't realise I wasn't logged on to your forum and my post appeared as being from "Guest" (but I did sign it with my name like I do on all my posts to any forum so that I can search on them at some later date if necessary).
My preference would be to add it to PowerGuard partly just to have one less thing to install but also because I suspect you already have a lot of the necessary code to support it in there already.

The Windows Mobile Version of mine is a spanish one. And i would lik to have an english version of it. Is it somehow possible to install a language packet or to get another version of WM?
I hope you guys can help me with this. I know this isnt exactly a pocket-pc-forum, but maybe you know something.

Just like Windows desktop OS's, you must reinstall the OS to change the language.
It's not an easy process if you are not familiar with your device. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, there is a forum devoted to your device. You should find a lot of information there.

Please let me first give some info about my device:
-Samsung OmniaPro B7610
-Windows Mobile 6.1
-afaik, there is no branding on the phone
Since I do not have an internet flatrate in my mobile contract, I was looking for a complete-no-cost navigation software for my phone. Thus I found We-Travel.
When I wanted to install We-Travel, my Java KVM (Aplix Jblend 20090908a) told me that there is a problem with the authentification of the certificate (Note: It did not say that the certificate is expired!).
So, after several forum threats, I came to the conclusion that my KVM was causing the trouble. I replaced it by a late Esmertec version - the installation of We-Travel worked without any problems. However, I could not use the software, since my display does not show me information about what is currently running when I start We-Travel. The installation of We-Travel itself was strange, as well. The phone asked me several times to choose "Yes" or "No", but the display did not show for what to choose.
Now that I have installed Esmertec, the KVM does not tell me any info about the current installed KVM-version. I tried Jbed 20090506.2.1 ,20090416.5.1 and 20090217.5.1.
For better understanding, I made two screenshots.

As you can see, there is no input there, no matter which of the 3 versions I install on the phone.
Esmertec is also not shown at "installed programms", and I cannot reinstall Aplic Jblend since I do not have the .cab on my phone and cannot find a late version to download.
I tried several soft-resets before and after the isntallation of Esmertec - did not solve anything.
Do you have any idea what to do?
There are not many alternatives to Esmertec - I would love to use this KVM...
