I've been having audio trouble with my SG3, and have narrowed it down: no app will play music that is stored on the device (internal or SD card). I can stream audio and video, but it just won't play stored files. Ideas?????

I installed the DoubleTwist app but it will not see any of the songs on my SD card. When I click on Albums or Songs I get prompted to use the DoubleTwist app on my PC to sync my music but I already have over 4 Gig of music on my SD card. Is there a way to make DoubleTwist see the SD card? I looked through the settings but could not find any way to do it. Interestingly enough I can browse to the songs through ES File Explorer and select a song and the DoubleTwist player is an option and will play the song. Is there a way to get the app to see my songs? All the songs are MP3 format. Thanks...
A new version of Google Music came out yesterday, I upgraded my app to the new version and that fixed the problem. The new version does not have the pause problem when the screen goes out.
I had the Media server service restarting issue when I upgraded to JB. I formatted my SD card and removed all the corrupt camera360 files and it got cleared. Now when I start music player, the media server starts and uses up a lot of battery. I found 540 songs in the SD card but only 498 showing up in recently added in the Google Music app after I refreshed. So I assume the rest of the music files are corrupted. Can someone help me how do I go about finding the corrupt music files? I have only .mp3 and .m4a files in my phone.
I have root access file explorer.
On Google Music, you can cache music to the device for offline play.
You can find the cached music in /data/data/com.google.android.music/files/music as mp3 format.
I tried to copy the mp3 to SD card and try to play it in my computer but the file does not play. The file itself has size but no tag information and no music player for Windows can open it.
Has anyone come up with a solution on how to extract mp3 files from Google Music?
Thanks.
I have the weirdest MP3 issues. I buy all my MP3 (yes I buy my music) from Amazon MP3 app. I move all the files from the amazon mp3 folder on the internal card into the Music folder on my SD card.
Any music player I use finds the songs without issue, even the Amazon MP3 app. My typical app is the Samsung Music app. All the songs I move it finds without issue. If I don't move the files, it'll find them inside the amazon_mp3 folder on the internal card where Amazon downloads them to.
It works flawlessly. Except for the following issue. If I move this one Album (Lorde - Pure Heroin) to the external card, it isn't found by any music app. But if I leave it in the original Amazon folder it can be found without issue. It only seems to happen to this one album. I can't understand what is the deal. I move all my other downloaded MP3 from the internal card to the external card and they are all found.
I have a Galaxy S4 Tmobile.
Any ideas?
I was having no problem playing music through the stock HTC music player and Google music off of the SD card.
Added new albums and they didn't show up.
Made the mistake of clearing the Media Storage data to refresh the music and once I did that I can't get the stock photo or music player to recognize the existing files or the older ones.
Fx file manager sees them fine and I tried JetAudio but it can't find the music either.
any suggestions?
got the photos back but still can't get the music apps to find my albums from the SD card.
am I missing something simple here?
