i have a Vodafone Smart Tab 4 and i want to be able to call with that tablet.
Could someone tell me how it can be possible

Hello, I also have this tablet from Vodafone Romania. Does anyone know if not having the phone call function is only due to software or could it be something missing in the hardware too?

I can install the dialler, but it won't dial.
skypeout works.
I have the same tablet. The tablet do not suport gsm call.

From what I've read that tab is the Alcatel 8S:

And here it says it can make calls so maybe it is vodafone software blocking the calls.

Could you tell me how you went about doing this? What firmware? Does it need to be rooted first to install custom recovery? What did you use to root?

I really have no where else to regarding this matter, after months of search I only bumped into some people with this same unsolved issue.
My phone is Sim Locked by NTT Docomo and just recently I've found out that source code for my phone is available for download from Fujitsu.

I wish it is chinese, I could have a chinese reading friend to do all the translation for me. I bought this set from Japan, I actually went to Docomo service center itself for unlock but they somehow told me for this particular model they're noti able to sim unlock.. =/

ı have a samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 3G (3105) which is same as (3100). includes 3g connection and sms messaging but phone calls via sim card is not in use because of limitation. ı got my device in turkey and probably this problem is special for my country ı can do all with my tab except phone calls and ı am looking for a solution. is there any rooting or hack solusion for my problem ? ı searched in forum but no result.
any help is appreciated

Could be locked out in your software. I'd suggest rooting and flashing either a custom ROM, or not rooting and simply flashing a stock jelly bean ROM from Sam mobile, or checking the development pages.
Try one of the stock ROM first and flash through Odin. I did this using the Taiwan ROM and it was great.
Have since moved to CM10.1 as I wanted stock jelly bean 4.2.1

i just purchased a used note 2 today N7100(unlocked international)
it was on version 4.1.1 official samsung
i flashed with odin to 4.3 indian stock rom.
now the phones working but the sim card is not registered on the network. it says emergency calls only.
i checked the phone its not at all black listed and the guy from whom i purchased was using it with his sim in it.
it cozed issues only after i flashed it to 4.3. also this is a phone from dubai as the guy told me.
the imei no is showing still but the network wont get registered. plz help asap!! thanks in advanced.

have you tried using other sims? maybe its not compatible with your specific sim.
maybe you just dont have any coverage, when i get the "not registred on network" message, it usualy means i'm underground, or in a place with low cell coverage, like in the woods or mountains.

The phone is factory unlocked so no issues related to not compatible and I tried with another sim too. Still the same problem. The problem only came when I flashed the 4.3 Indian stock rom. But that rom doesn't have any problem coz I've used on other note 2 too. Something related with the phone.
Hi there if you go into settings and then about device and then status you will be able to see if you have a service state if you don't have any but the network operator appears as well as signal stats. You most likely have a black listed iemi or something happened to the iemi when flashing the rom or more simple is the sim slot is broken. Hopefully you will be able to fix it sorry I can't give you that much help on this subject.

I don't understand why only the wind IT carrier SIM works, i tried french bouygues telecom SIM whitout success, same problem with italian Vodafone carrier. Can anyone confirm this problem via mobile q uprgrade. Maybe is becouse i istalled and use the upgrade q in italian? Maybe i mess something? Maybe is now carrier locked? With 5.0.2 no problems, also with eluga switch 5.0.2 no sim problem...legit marshmallow got this tricky problem.

Can someone help me to solve my phone network on unlocked samsung s7 ??
There exist a problem when someone try to call to my number it wont connect for the 1st time and need to disconnect automatically for the 1st time, after 1st call disconnected automatically same
caller can call to my number again.
Want someone to help me with this problem.

or, change your sim card and try to call your own number
or, change your firmware (try U firmware since your S7 is on ATT firmware).
