[Q] Swipe down to answer phone call with speakerphone? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had a ROM, don't remember the specific one at this moment, but it had the convenient option of swiping down to answer phone with speakerphone. This was in addition to regular option of swiping right to answer and up to reply with SMS.
Is there a way to add this in?

Incoming call "send to" option...

Hey guys!
The NS is my 2nd Android phone, the first being the Epic 4G for about 3 weeks (no signal in home ).
Anyway, one of the cool features of the Epic was that when an incoming call came in, you had 3 options:
1) Answer/take the call
2) Send caller directly to voice mail
3) Send caller an automatic text response (it offered some common replies, as well as allowed you to customize your own text responses in its settings).
I don't know if this was a Samsung feature, or an Android 2.1 feature, but I was wondering if there was a way to set this up on our NS's, or if there's an app that offers something similar to this?
Thx!

Yeah, that's what I was a afraid of - too bad, as it's an awesome feature! Do you know of an app that can do something similar? Thx
Back on 2.1 if you hit the power button it would silence, and if you slide to reject it would send to voicemail immediately.
I'm not sure if it's still like that as I've been on CM for quiet a while now, and those were changed.

Tasker profile to enable flip silent?

Does anyone know how I can replicate the sense function of putting the phone face down to silence the phone during an incoming call? I'm not using a sense ROM any more so would like to add this feature with tasker.
take a look right here man
I've seen that already thanks, but the apps available to do it start ringing again as soon as you turn the phone back over. On sense however it stays in silent until they've stopped trying to call. That's what I'm trying to replicate, hence why I'm wanting to do it in tasker since it's customisable.

Nop u won't get that features sorry mate.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
If sense could do it then tasker should be able to too, if I knew how to do it of course!
Does anyone know how I could do this with tasker?
I have the following, just made it for you, it's rather simple:
Create a profile, name it like "Turn Down"
Add the State->Orientation:Face Down
Add the task u want to(Silence phone, block calls etc) And done.
Cheers, I'll have a look but I think when I tried last there was no option for it to only silence the ringtone for that one call. I'd actually forgotten about this thread, so I'll have another look.
Just looked again and remembered why I couldn't do it. I can't find any options to choose orientation.

[Q] Answer calls with simple swipe

When I receive an incoming call I would like only a simple swipe to answer. Currently I get an option if I swipe up to send a quick reply. Sometimes when driving etc I accidentally swipe up instead of right and drop the call. Very annoying. I've searched everywhere and cannot find an app or a setting to get rid of quick reply's.

Is it in your country allowed to use phone when driving. If it is, report to Google.

Not exactly a solution to my problem, but yes we can still use phones while driving in Florida. I usually use Bluetooth, Just using driving as one of many examples.

Doesn't your bluetooth device has an answer button?
OK lets forget about Bluetooth and pretend I'm not in a car. No Bluetooth just don't want to have instant reply when I accidentally swipe up. Do you have a way to address my problem or not. If not no more reply's please.

If you are not in the car then clear your mind, think three times "right, not up" and answer your call. With time you will get your own mantra.
Also you can try to find working button remaping app.
Stop txting and driving, you might injure/kill someone
There's handicap/disability options somewhere in settings

Device still rings with vibrate on

So, me and my friend both have the oneplus 7 pro from t-mobile. My phone is rooted and his is not. Recently, we've both encountered the issue of setting our phones on vibrate via the slider on the device then, only to find, our phones will still ring. We're both on the latest 9.5.13. Anyone have
recommendations on how to fix the problem?
You want no ring, slide the switch up again to silent

That's not the correct answer! When I slide mine up to vibrate my phone does not ring...it only vibrates like its supposed to. When you slide it up to the top it doesn't ring or vibrate...like its supposed to. I do not know why theirs is not working properly but your comment is just wrong.

It your devices are not working contact One Plus
Is contacting the manufacturer the right answer ?
The issue may be with the sms app you're using. I remember google's message app and the default OnePlus sms app had different behaviour for me

The same way you're experiencing, I would set the slider to the middle position for vibrate but the device would still ring for text messages. This is the reason I switched back to the default messaging app.
Try changing apps and see if it's any different.

How can I make it more difficult to answer an incoming call?

Lately my phone answers incoming calls too easily. Just the slightest touch anywhere on the screen answers the call. The green dot means nothing anymore. I keep my phone in my pocket and now many calls are answered by simply pulling the phone fro my pocket. Is there a way to truly lock the screen or make it more difficult to unintentionally answer a call?
buy a cover,,,

You mean like lock in the box? That seems useless. I do have a cover. If moving the green dot answered the phome, that would be fine. But any touch to the screen answers it now. Something changed in recent updates.
I mean like a wallet type of case.
You have checked the phone setting that there isn't option to answer with a key?
Also some Accessibility setting might help...

I can't find any setting for answering a phone call. Several configuration settings have seemed to have been removed with recent updates. Not just with answering but also with data control.
Accessibility.. "motor and cognition" in my LG.
Touch control areas --> make most of the area in phone app not responding to touch.
Touch and hold for calls -> is it on? If not, try it and change the "touch input" time to much much longer..
These I found ... might work.. depends..

Thanks for replying. I do not have a touch control area setting. I do have a touch and hold delay, but changing that setting did not help.

Certainly isn't an issue on my fully updated, stock 4a. Check Accessibility settings. If no joy reset you phone
I switched my Dialer to a third party and the problem cleared. I guess the stock dialer just became too sensitive. Not sure why Google did that.
