while i dont know if they do or dont, a. the stock keyboard could be doing it, and the system itself could be too, you have no way of knowing.
b. if its extremely important to you, root yur phone, download and install the xposed framework, and the module xprivacy, and use it rto block the permissions of your KIQ.

Most things are harmless, infact %99.8 of apps are okay. The main ones you want to watch out for are apks that aren't from Google Play as they could have loggers bundled with them but most if not all apps from the Play store are okay, their main issue is bring tons of malware ads

Bloatware apps?

Hey guys, Iam not 100% which apps are considered bloatware but i know that any app that is... i would like deleted/disabled at least!
Dont suppose anyone fancy's putting together a list of apps that are safe to delete/uninstall ? Iam reluctant to go disabling suspected apps myself incase i mess up the phones performance or incase they are needed for other apps to function properly so a compiled list would be awesome

all the apps which comes pre loader with your phone which is installed by your device manufacture are bloatware apps, you can delete all the bloatware apps you want like fb, google+, maps, news and weather, sociallife, play games....
This is my first Sony phone. Coming from Nexus devices and LG G2 - it's amazing that you can delete all preloaded apps.. I had the S4 for a week, those bloatware apps were the hell. And if you unlock the bootloader you can say goodbye to the efuse.. So I got the G2. Had bloatware, too, you could only deactivate them but not delete them. However, it was better than the s4, but not as great as the Nexus devices or the Sony Xperia Z3.
Love Sony's attitude towards this.

In fact, that's what you CANNOT do with a bunch of that bloatware apps if you didn't obtain root. :/

You can't delete all the apps sadly. Most can be disabled which is great, but What's New will always stick out in your face everytime you try to swipe up for google now.

Would this not rely on being rooted? Can't say many people will want to be rooted with the damage it does to the Camera.

Yup it does, so for now uninstalling those possible and disabling the others possible is the only option...

Requires root, which stops me from using banking apps, so it's a no-go unfortunately.
You can disable What's New without root.
First you need to connect with ADB Debugging:
1) In Settings, go to 'Developer options' - If you don't have that, go into 'About phone' and tap on the build number a bunch of times until it tells you you are a developer. Now you have the Developer options menu.
2) In there, tick the USB Debugging option
3) Connect the phone to the PC and install the ADB driver. The phone will ask if you trust that pc, say yes (tick the box if you want it to remember that PC)
Now you have ADB access, do this:
1) type adb devices to start adb and check your device is found
2) type adb shell
3) type pm block com.sonymobile.advancedwidget.entrance
4) type reboot
Your phone will restart and What's New will be disabled! If you want it back, just repeat the process changing block to unblock in step 3.

[Q] Android permissions

Hello everyone,
since am new to android os and i recently came from iOS, i do have some questions about how android apps work. first of all i noticed the lack of permissions you can choose to give to spesific apps like iOS allows, when i try to install an app from play store, it just shows me what permissions the app is going to use and thats all, they dont allow me to change that? and my biggest complain is that i downloaded viber from play store before one day, and the app modified my contacts list app adding viber out/free viber calls shortcuts.. for me thats unacceptable, i mean its like installing an app on your pc and not being able to deny the toolbar that comes within it to your browser.. how can i change all that and control the freedom of the apps. btw sorry for my bad english, i hope you ppl can understand me

in cm go to settings->security or privacy->privacy guard and choose the app you want you can block there any premissions you like
but my friend that doesnt change the fact that viber modifies contact app, it adds a 'plugin' to the app with viber out and free calling/messaging, you need to let viber have access to contacts in order to sync and check whos from your contacts has viber, but at the same time it adds the plugin.. am i wrong?

[Q] Rom without apps / clean

hello guys
finally i bought a new mobile - the samsung edge - my old samsung omni 900 (something like 5 years old) i sent in pension.
on the edge are a lot of staff which nobody needs like the whole google shid, or the samsung apps. i was going thru the last published ROMs but i couldnt figure out that this apps was removed ! actually i understand they wasnt removed.
i there a clean ROM for the edge out there where I CAN decide what i want to install ?
i also couldnt figure out (i used the search with the word "panel") if the custom ROMs build the panel has no problems, also the PEN, multiwindow, ...
i also use the samsung gear cycle (an excellent ear speaker - can really recommend) - this uses the samsung app for it - will it work with all functions ?
maybe somebody could advice a CLEAN ROM.

there are a lot of bloatware removers.. Bloatware are the extra apps that come with the rom, that are useless basically
there are tons of apps to remove them
there are members here, who created a zip to flash from recovery to let you choose and the rest is done automatic
but if you prefer removing them yourself, root is a must
and i would suggest installing either, Titanium backup, or Romtoolbox
i love romtoolbox, very user friendly, so as Titanium backup
good luck
remove bloatware

Please Help Walkfree folder is really bothering

Hi guys
I've a little problem (in fact it's really big to me).
Recently there were a folder created automatically in the internal memory called "Walkfree"
It has some downloaded apk(s) without my knowledge and after I delete it, it appears again and again and download more and more apk.
How can I stop it please the internet in my country is really slow and this folder is killing it.
Note: I'm not the only one a friend of mine has Xperia p with the same problem
If anyone has an idea please share it
And thanks in advance.
check your installed apps for any suspicious application that you might not have installed yourself. Most probably there will be one like mobogenie or some other.

There are some apps on play store that allow you to do so. Search for 'firewall' and you'll find some that work on non rooted devices too.

op7pro without google

Greetings,
Since the begginning I use all my android device without google. I know that this phone is new, not so many rom out there, I can't wait to have one, where we can flash gapps separate.
But til that, I deciced to delete all google staff manually (except for gboard, as I can't find any decent keyboard).
I'm not sure, but I guess for this decision I have some issues. All the apps with a built in browser force close or don't react if I wanna use its browser. Some other apps won't even start. (Not even says any "missing google play services msg")
My question is, how can I make sure what cause the problem, plus how I need to do properly to skip google?
I deleted gapps with titanium backup.
I have also an ancient galaxy s4 on lineage, only rom, there these things work like a charm. (With its limited speed )
Or do u think there's gonna be option soon to do only rom for the phone?
Plus if u have the same "googless" system on any device, please share with me how u do with google pendent apps, which play store alternative u use etc..
Thanks

Might be the webview, it defaults to chrome. look into developers option/ webview implementation and ensure its set to Android System instead of Chrome. That may solve part of the problem

Yes, that was my first guess as well, but as i deleted google, the only option is the android system, so nothing to do there, its set on that. Also checked on the s4, just by curiosity, it has exactly the same version, therefore this part should be fine.
Thanks

I would start over and go gradually removing stuff and testing starting form the mist insignificant to the most complicated ones like services and framework, etc
Perhaps you want to look also into the tomato debloater thread. They have some tested scripts to remove google apps
Yeah that could be an idea, at some point that will be the next step.
I looked for this tomato db, it also gets closer to my idea, but til i don't find out the thing u mentioned, i'm not sure about it, as it's not 100% google free. Though sure i'll do the invisible option.
Plus there r some things in the extreme, that i'm okay with, like ambient screen for example. My dream is to have fully optimised and stable rom, that use all the benefits, what this exact device can offer, + tweak options, but obviously without all the trash, + without gapps. Y they don't just let us choose if we want netflix for example?
Apart from this, i really don't get, y stock roms don't give basic option, like disable pop up notifications. Such a little option, but so useful.
I wish i knew how long it takes to make these clean roms, but in case if not soon, i'll go for this options what u wrote, thank u
Is there any way to have push notification?
(And i know it's nothing to do with google, but also if you know how to disable popups, please share with me as well)

I did the same, but includeing paly services, framework.., all. I use apkpure store, now i even managed the the system webview to work. Not the one built in, that did't work, no matter what i did. From magisk i found something systemless webview, that does the job.
The only thing i miss is the push notification. (And block popup). Im shocked that no solution so far, that's y we like android. But with some things they look to move on the way of ios.
