Galaxy Relay Charger - Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G

I purchased a Galaxy S Relay, but it didn't come with the stock charger. Instead they included a generic charger that seems to output 500 ma. Anyone know what charger are compatible? I was thinking that we can charge faster with a higher power charger.

The stock charger puts out 1A (1000mA) at 5V so you probably could charge faster with a higher power charger

is there a big difference in charging times between chargers?

I have a 800ma charger that seems to take forever to charge my phone. I also have a 1A charger that charges significantly quicker. I am trying to determine if the cheap 800ma charger I have is just a crappy charger or do 1A charger charge that much quicker?
OE charger is 1A, from what i've seen it charges the phone the fastest, i should check what my charger at work is b.c i find it charges way slower then the OE
1A is the most it will take or you can just plug it into your computer @ 500ma. So 800ma will work just fine
great to know thanks so much!
The phone detects if you are using a wall or usb charger, the second is considerably slower. Some usb chargers cheat to seem wall chargers so charges much faster.

[Q] Charger Advice

Hello everyone,
So I have been trying to find the answer to what I am wondering but to no avail. I know that when using a charger that did not come with the phone it needs to have to same voltage to not hurt the battery, but I am unsure of the amps. I know for normal powering of things the charger needs to supply the same amount of amps or higher so that the item can pull enough power from the charger. However, phones do not need a certain amps to be powered by the charger. So I want to know if I can use any changer that has 5 volts, but varying amps. This is because I read that if you use a charger with lower amps it is better for the battery as it is not charging as fast increasing the life span of the battery, is this true?
Example: I have a LG G2 which uses a charger with 5V and 1.8A , but I want to use my nexus wireless charger that is 5V and 1.2A
Thanks for any assistance!

[Q] 5w car charger enough?

I am looking to purchase one "original" car charger for the Nexus 5, since LG do not have retails around here, thought of going for the Samsungs. Found out that Samsung have two car chargers, one for 5w and another one for 10w, the 10w one is almost twice as expensive.
Is the 5w one enough? Or should I get the 10w one?
Yes, it's enough. The 5W charger = 1A. Since the wall charger that came with your nexus is 1.2A, you'll notice that it will charge slightly slower than it does when you plug it in at home, but still way faster than USB.
9 watts at least.
Less just wont charge,The phone will just discharge slower.

The A/C adapter that comes with the Nexus 5 is only a 6W charger, so that can't be true.
This is from my experience bro.
Do not forget that watt=volt*amp (5 volts * 2.0 amp=10 watts).
Which gives us that 10 watts equal to 2 amp home wall charger or 9w which would be equal to 1.8 amp charger if you'll try a 6w charger It's just too low for the nexus it will charge up to 1.2 amp,and this is honestly not enough.
Also the Nexus 5 chargers really slow if the phone being used while charging (which in this occasion could be GPS,Music,Bluetooth),so yeah,9 watt at least.
This is interesting. So probably the 5W is enough for a slow charger and will charge slower than the Wall Charger.
10W will definitely charge faster than the wall charger.

Note Edge Fast Charge USB

Can we use this USB to fast charge our Note ?
Anker® 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger with PowerIQ™ Technology
Thanks
It's a charger that will charge fast simply because of the high amperage. I believe, and trust me I could be wrong, the fast charging capability has to do with the plug's output. Your typical outlet plug is 5v, anywhere from 500mah - 2.x amp. The higher the amps, the faster the charge. If you look at the fast charging plug, you'll notice it's 5v 2.1amp OR 9 volt 1.67 amp. I believe the ability to fast charger comes from the higher voltage capability. So while the 2.4amp charge rate is good and will charge fast, it's not the fast charging like using the higher voltage Samsung plug.

It is the phone that decides how much current to use, not the charger. A charger can limit the phone only if it is not able to supply enough current. If the phone is capable of charging at 1A, a 10A charger will only deliver 1A. The current ratings on chargers are for MAX current the charger is capable of.
