You changed the MEID/IMEI and therefore broke the signal and IMEI certification. The only way to get it back is to restore the original. Otherwise you're stuck with a baseband bricked phone until the super IMEI range is found.

I think you meant to say you want to change your carrier?
You may need to unlock your phone and use a different SIM?

Each phone has a unique identifier for them to be recognize by their provider. You cannot change your imei. It is also illegal in some places. If you really try and get another imei from a different phone, then two phone will share the same line.
That it's why i think you mean something else when you say imei.
Why don't you take your phone to your carrier and ask them what is needed?
Only possible reason one may want to change IMEI is to prevent from getting stuck with data plans that not everyone needs. So, if you have a dumb phone, you could change the IMEI of your Infuse to the IMEI of your dumb phone (it is quite a process) and then use it with AT&T.
Most of us have WIFI at home/work/gym/hotels; hence, it is really unnecessary to be paying $30-$40 bucks for data every month, it adds up, $350/year.
I like to have my unlimited data plan to listen to Pandora in my car and you can do just fine with $10 Medianet as opposed to smartphone data plans if you use dumb-phone IMEI.
IMEI can be changed to another IMEI, or Samsung generic IMEI (which is easier to do). Carriers in some countries (not US) block generic IMEIs.
Overall, it has uses. Legality, obviously, is a question. Some people attribute it to changing VIN on the car, which is understood. People pay a fortune for their phones and IMEI modification allows thieves to get away with our prized possessions - major downside. I think of it as changing identity string on the browser.

If you are serious and really want to do that you can try an delete the efs folder with the help of Root exlorer.
BEFORE DOING THAT TAKE A BACK UP OF THE FOLDER.

IMEI on Chinese Smart Phone

I have a Cobalt SP300 I bought on eBay. It has a MT6575 SoC that has a 3G radio integrated according to the manufacturer. I know other phones like the Zopo 100 with this same chip can access 3G bands of 850/1900 mhz. I looked up the IMEI number on some websites and it shows it to be a basic flip phone from early 2005. I currently have a feature phone unlimited data plan on my account, that worked fine on 3G on my old phone, but I can only get EDGE on this phone. When I go on the AT&T website and look at my account, it shows the device as unknown. Could it be since the device is unknown they restrict the data to EDGE only?
I happen to have an old 3G flip phone. I can be sure it will never be used again since the pins on the SIM slot broke. If I were to change the IMEI number to that phone's IMEI number, is it possible it would allow 3G?
You can't change your phones imie number its illegal and would get you into serious trouble

I have one which had two legal printed imeis which worked until I pressed factory reset which wiped them. How can I put them back.
There is nothing illegal in this as I have proof they are the phones numbers
sent by reversed alien technology....
You will find no info here on editing the imei as this is illegal and not to be talked about here.

I9100 imei changed to 0049 generic imei

I know this is an old thread. But spent so many days reading all those stuffs. Finally contacted samsung service centre and they says they can't repair my phone since its not manufactured in my country. Tried repairs like '' GSII repair'' and lots of other. Am not sure what I did. Deleted efs folder and copied, pasted. Nv files restarted. But of know use. When I tried inserting another network simcard(my friends) . The imei didn't change. But I was able to make phone calls and 3g. Bought a new sim of the same network. But I couldn't use it to make calls. It shows network not registered(like my previous carrier). The only thing I am able to do is I can use 3g. And I am typing from this same phone. Thank you for reading this..

[HOW-TO] Fix LTE for International Model Note 3 (USA Carrier)

So something weird has been happening since purchasing my mint conditioned note 3 on Sprint. Every time I was inside my home, my note 3 would lose LTE and stay on 3g. I was looking for answers and not finding a single thing. I came up with a solution myself and here is where the explaining begins. Be careful when purchasing a phone online as some are international phones (which we know). I happened to purchase an n900p note 3 model and it was actually made in China but my signal radios were set to Japan. If you are in the USA and using Sprint then do the following:
-Download from the play store an app called Samsung phone info
-After the install is complete open the app and open the menu on the left side
-Select Secret Codes
-Scroll down to settings and select Launch 0
-Choose Phone Information
-In the upper right hand corner there are 3 dots, choose radio baseband and select USA from Japan
-Enjoy LTE

Are you rooted? Or on the default ROM for your device? The problem could be sprint uses CDMA not GSM, GSM is for devices without sim cards but I think is used on sprint for the sole purpose of emergency calls

the phone is rooted and running close to stock tw 4.4.4 rom.
true that sprint is a cdma carrier. but the n900p has all the gsm basebands which my carrier provides.
also phone has been internationally unlocked using sprint unlocker. (ssu.apk.)

baseband is nk4 and my imei number is shown which starts from 99.
so i think everything is pretty normal here.
i am just concerned about the phone not activating and it refuses to register to any network. i've tried 3 different indian carrier sim cards.

The phone might not be compatible with that specific carrier or you might have to take your sim card to the carrier and have them activate it but who knows.I took mine to Sprint and the guy asked me where I got the phone, I told him online. The problem with me having a Japan radio baseband set as default my LTE signal gets lost when I go in a building but when I'm outside, it picks back up again. If I switch the radio to USA I get 4g but then can't send/receive MMS. After a period of time on the USA baseband, it will completely lose signal and show up a black empty service in my status bar

S6 920F has new imei number related to different model?

Hi
I hope somebody can help me as I'm so frustrated. I own a S6 920F which has 2 different IMEI numbers and I'm unable to use the phone for texts, incoming and outgoing calls. The sim card is fine.
The IMEI Number stored in the phone does not match the original IMEI printed on the back- Both imei numbers are clean and are not blacklisted. The IMEI number stored in the phone brings up a completely different phone model.
I have contacted Samsung and EE as when I bought the phone the phone was unlocked but had EE apps and both are saying to contact vice versa. Shocking CS.
I unrooted the phone and put it back to stock which worked fine but I'm still unable to use the phone features. when I dial *#0011# it says the IMEI is NG.
Can somebody please help, can the original IMEI be restored on the phone?
