[Q] ZTE V970, restore to factory default bricked me? - ZTE Grand X V970

Hello.
I've experienced a very odd issue today. my battery died and after I placing it into the charging it about an hour I started up the phone again it said something about an encryption error and gave me only 1 option - factory reset.
Reluctantly I agreed. luckily I had almost everything backed up, however after doing the factory reset my phone got in an endless restart loop. right after the ZTE flash screen I get a brief (a second or two) screen where theres the android mascot with some gears spinning on his back and some weird 3d hexagon spinning on its front before it reboots.
I cant seen to get into rescue mode (trying power+vol. up), factory mode works however (power volume down) but its all in Chinese. tried fiddling it but its mostly hardware tests apparently, didn't find anything helpful for restoring.
I figured I'll try reinstalling CMW so I followed bgcngm's blog guide but it didn't change anything and I still cant go into rescue mode.
What should I do? how do I force into a recovery mode?
EDIT:
After some digging around I found a video on youtube which depicts my issue almost perfectly. dunno if it will help:

still having the issue, can anyone please assist?

[Q] Galaxy Nexus Boot Loop (stock)

I have an unlocked HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus imported from the UK to the US. Ordered from Negri Electronics.
It's not rooted or modded in any way.. Mainly because I don't know how to. As far as I know, it's running stock ICS.
I was using it normally, (using the fb messenger app if it makes any difference) when it suddenly rebooted by itself. The Google logo comes up, then the start up animation, and sometimes the home screen will appear but is not touch sensitive (i cannot slide it to unlock), and then it 'hangs' and the screen goes black. Repeat.
I've tried to fix this by myself and there's a video on youtube (sorry, noob here. can't post links. video is by robbidwv and title is "my galaxy nexus won't boot..") of the same problem that I have, but the posted solution doesn't work for me.
So far, I have entered Coin Mode and pressed Start. Entered Fastboot mode and gone into Recovery Mode (no options appear after that. it just starts booting up and the loop begins), and I've also tried Restart Bootloader.
I've almost given up. Now all I want is to extract my SMS, if they're still on my phone. I can't access the folders on my computer because it won't boot up and connect. Is there a way that I can extract my SMS by using DOS in either Coin Mode or Fastboot mode?
Or even better, does anyone have a solution to this boot loop problem? I'll contact Negri Electronics tomorrow and hopefully they can send me a replacement.
Please help!! Thanks
that problem just started happening with me an hour ago!!
i hate this!!
we need a solution please!
Hey guys, sorry about the issue.the major problem I see here is you wanting to retrieve your txt messages, which might be possible with a little Modding, but if yourwilling to lose them to get a working phone back, then this is what your going to have to do. Make sure your phone is completely off. Hold the 2 volume buttons and the power button together. You will get into a mode with an android Guy. Press the volume button up or down until it says reboot recovery at the top. Press the power button. It will rebootand come to a screen with an android. Hold volume up,down and power at the same time. A menu will come up. Go down to wipe data. Click it, and after it is done reboot. Your phone should work now.
If this helped you, or you simply appreciate me taking the time to write this out then please press the thanks button
Hey!
Thanks. Yeah I 'fixed' it already. I was just about to post something similar. After a while I just gave up on trying to recover my data. Good thing that Google syncs everything so the only issue would be recovering my messages, which I decided weren't worth sending it in for a repair which would probably not be able to recover anything anyway.
The thing I didn't know about was to press power + volume up WHILE on the recovery screen. I thought navigating to the recovery screen was it!
Still, this kind of sucks. I love my GNex, but I can't help but be slightly pissed seeing that my crappy iPhone 3GS never did this in the 2 years I had it. Oh well, hope it doesn't happen again!
hey guys! i also did a complete wipe on my phone and got it working again!
but i wonder why this happened in the first place?
last application i installed before the crash was double twist, i dunno why but i feel that it was the reason behind the boot loop!
Sorry for reviving this thread, but I just had this happen to me TWICE!
It happened to me first last Monday, the 23rd - the phone crashed when trying to send an email with an attachment - and went into a boot loop - Google logo would appear, no make it to the animation, and reboot....
I performed a full reset and things worked again. I didn't install all the apps I had before - figuring it must have been due to some app messing with the OS.
Well, it happened again to me yesterday! I was connecting to my bluetooth headset when the phone crashed and went into the boot loop. Full reset worked again, and I've installed even fewer apps - essentially only those that I use on a daily basis.
My phone is still on 4.0.1 and I'm hoping once 4.0.4 is pushed this may get resolved? I have a canadian GNex from Negri. I will call them again (I called the first time, but when the full reset worked I never contacted them again).
I would like to this this is a software issues, and not hardware.
I have the same problem. If you figure it out let me know.
Today my phone also entered a boot loop: [Google logo]->[black screen]->[vibration]->[Repeat]
I tried Recovery Mode, but this is what happens: (sorry for the link but I am not trusted with powerful tools such as outside links apparently, as I have not yet reached the maturity of a person with eight posts... )
dl(dot)dropbox(dot)com/u/53568097/Android.jpg
This is what I see when I navigate to Recovery Mode
For a split second I can see an image of an Android with spinning cogs in his innards, but then this little sad fellow appears. WTF is this?
EDIT:
Oh, and I'm running Android stock 4.0.2, never rooted or unlocked, Swedish. At the time when the phone started doing this, I was using Endomondo, and was about to set off on my bike when it died on me.
Stock ROM galaxy nexus bootlooping after wiping data also.
Hi,
My GNex went into a bootloop so i searched xda and found that factory reseting would be helping my prob. But after wiping the data also its still in going through the loop . Please help .:crying:

[Q] DESPERATE HERE: Phone won't boot after soft reset?

A couple of months back I decided to root my device. I did this using the unlocking the bootloader method. As a result, I lost my DRM keys, and I managed to restore DRM function by following the methods detailed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/xperia-z1-z2-z3-series-devices-drm-t2930672
I had to download the stock Android 4.4.4 from online, which I flashed my phone with - no problems. Things ran smoothly from then for about a month, and then I realised that my cellular network started to malfunction, and I couldn't access apps like YouTube and Snapchat on the cellular network. This prompted me today to do a "soft reset" of my phone, by holding the power button and volume up button simultaneously for about 3 seconds - under the impression that it would restore my phone settings back to the factory default.
Much to my horror, the worst case scenario happened. When I performed the soft reset, my phone vibrated 3 times and switched off. When I tried to turn it back on, it would show the boot-up screen indicating "SONY", followed by the next screen indicating "powered by android", and then it would show the blue screen with the wavy lines. It stayed on this screen for about 20 minutes. I figured something was wrong, and I tried to soft reset it again, only to be stuck at the blue screen once again. I decided to let it stay that way for 2 more hours, in order to drain the battery. When the battery drained, I turned it back on, and it was still stuck at the blue wavy screen.
I don't know a whole lot about Android phones, and I have no idea why this is happening, but it is causing me an immense amount of frustration - I have invaluable data on that phone, and to lose it would just be devastating. I can't even begin to describe it. I'm using TWRP recovery, and I'm also using TitaniumBackup which is backed up onto my phone's internal storage, and I can't access any of the files on my phone from my computer, because it doesn't recognise my phone.
This has been a long one, thanks for bearing with me. I've got a few questions:
1. What's the problem that's preventing my phone from booting?
2. How do I fix it?
3. If it's unfixable, how can I retrieve my data from my phone?
Really, really hoping someone can help me out on this - I'm completely lost and am desperate here. Thank you in advance!
Can you boot into TWRP's recovery mode using the volume down key?
Just press volume down when you see the green light on your notification led upon powering on your phone
Well something keeps the phone to boot, try to clean cache in recovery, it might help.
But to restore data on internal storage, count it as unpossible.

[Completed] Stuck at LG logo on LG L5 II e460

So, yesterday I decided to reboot my phone since it was very sluggish for whatever reason. I think it shut down properly but when it came back on, there was a very interesting problem that had come up - it didn't boot any further than the logo screen, which didn't even play its standard animation; it just stood there with the LED on the home button changing colors (like normal). I left it on overnight hoping the problem would be gone, but to no avail. It still hadn't booted when I woke up. If it matters, the only thing I can boot to is download mode. It doesn't let me get to safe mode or however it's called (the menu you navigate with volume up/down and the power button). Needless to say, I was very puzzled. Then I went on and tried to flash the latest kdz since I thought that would fix the problem. I hoped that would easily fix the problem. But no, it decided to be funny and give me more headache. I tried using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409308 but after step 20 the LG Mobile Support Tool crashes and I can't continue. Sure thing, I will try the Upgrade Recovery that the tool has built in. It properly detects my phone, the software download and extraction goes smoothly. Then I reach the S/W Upgrade part of the process. The few first seconds everything is fine, but then the bar reaches 5% and just stops. Just like that. Now it's been 8 hours since I began the recovery and no progress has been made.
Can anybody help me? I'm lost here...

[Completed] My s4 is soft bricked and I'm trying to do an Emergency Firmware Recovery, have ?s.

So here's the gist. My s4 has been rooted for a while and very recently while removing some apps and bloatware I decided to remove the "Help" app since it seemed useless. I think I messed my phone up by doing that because by then my s4 would randomly give me the black screen of death or get stuck in a boot loop. To fix these problems I would take out the battery and hold the power button for a minute, or clear cache from the boot loader menu or reboot in safe mode which would inexplicably fix my phone normally for some reason. But all these options only temporarily fixed my phone and it would just continue with the same problems (Boot loop, black screen of death, etc).
I eventually resorted to factory resetting my phone, all though not the conventional way At first I tried decrypting my s4 but my stupid usb cord stopped being recognized by my pc and that screwed up the decryption so my phone factory resetted itself on it's own pretty much. Now I'm having trouble getting to the boot loading screen but I can get to the download/odin screen.
I looked up online and different guides told me the last resort is to do something called an emergency firmware recovery. I looked up on youtube what to do, tried using Kies but Kies said it doesn't support the s4. I then tried using Smart Switch but when I get to the screen where it tells me to enter my serial number, I enter it and it tells me that I'm entering the wrong serial number, even though I triple checked what it is! I google searched if other people were having this problem with smart switch and other people are having similar problems as I am. I'm running out of ideas on how to save my phone. I don't think it's a hardware problem because I haven't dropped my phone very recently. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do next?

[HELP] GT-I9300 Stuck at bootscreen and "more"

Hey guys,
I spent about 2 days reading through every piece of guide I can find in here to resolve my issue and now, here I am. So the thing that started this whole pileup is that I did a cache and dalvik wipe. After which it booted to till the bootanimation and stayed there............Forever. I understand this is fixable, but here is the real problem. My volume button doesn't work. So I cannot go into recovery or download mode (download mode was accessible for a while until that button failed too). So then I tried rebooting with adb. But then it says that the device in unauthorized (I remember that the USB debugging option was set to ON a long time ago). In a desperate attempt to fix things, I opened the phone and checked out the volume buttons to see if anything can be done. The buttons are like fully damaged from the wear and tear over the years and I'm not just talking about the button but also the contacts. It still boots up to the bootscreen. At this point I'm only interested in getting my data back. My last backup was done a month ago.
Can someone please help me?
