[Q] Nexus 5 does is dead???

I installed latest CM rom and unfortunately xposed framework on top.
after that my device does not start and seems to stack in CM logo for ever.
I can get to recovery but does not find any backup files! Seems like scdard is empty or not recognizable.
I tried to push a new rom for with adb from fastboot but my pc does not seems to find the phone. Like adb debugging is not enabled on the phone.
I also fails when I try to erase the device from recovery.
Any help is welcome.

Boot in fastboot and flash a factory image. Best way to fix pretty much anything.

Try to reinstall the universal drivers, and try different usb ports on your computer.

You need to make sure you're in the bootloader.

Hi, your phone is ok, just empty. the problem is on the computer. You need to fix the driver for nexus 5. You probably have them installed since you unlocked the phone. just keep your phone connected and on recovery mode.
go to device manager, look for nexus 5. Choose "update driver"
"Browse my computer for driver...,
"let me pick from a list of device drivers"
choose any ADB driver, and install it.

If it can boot to the bootloader, and it still cant find the device, the problem is either with your computer(driver) or with the usb hardware on the phone(highly unlikely since it happened after you messed with software)

problem solved.
i tried the exact same process on my imac and worked perfectly!
( i had already reinstalled the drivers on my pc with no luck...)

Vodafone Smart 4 Turbo - Few Q's

I just got this phone today. Its a good little phone for the price but Id like to try some other stock 4.4 kernels if possible.
I have rooted the phone and I can get into fastboot mode but fastboot.exe just hangs at waiting for device.
I think this is a driver issue as in device manager in windows I have "Android" listed with no driver. I have downloaded fastboot and adb drivers but this has not worked.
Is there another driver I need for this to work with a Vodafone Smart 4 Turbo?

I did it via vroot .

Question: how can i readd the clock & weather widget? I removed it from the homescreen and can't see it in the widget list. Only reset to factory?

Depends on your phone-revision.
If it's 890N, it's more or less not possible.

Tried every root app
ive tried every root option i know to root this phone 890n 4.4.4 and nothing works,cant even get it to connect to adb as it goes into fastboot mode only if you remove battery and plug usb in but it only says fastbootmode and no other options and when its like that adb cany see device, it does when phone switched on gives serial number. im stuck. Anyone had any luck yet or still no joy?

when you said you got into fastboot mode, did it just say fastboot mode or did it give you options? mine just says fastboot mode which is no good as it doesnt give options to start fastboot its because vodafone or coolpad have messed about with it that much its useless. ive just had a reply off coolpad americas as i sent email there didnt know uk address but they said there waiting for a reply from uk counterparts and then theyll sent me source code and other tools for phone.(we'll see if they do).
i thought bootloader was locked on these phones or is it because some have 4.4.4 firmware it cant be rooted as a lot with 4.4.2 firmware have confirmed root?

I dont have this phone anymore.
I never did manage to try other kernels etc

My friend has this phone, rooted via kingroot. Any custom roms (esp cyanogenmod) out for it? BTW, cant find any custom recovery, pls post links to them if you can find any thanks

2017 still main phone
Rooted it & took Gapps & everything off...still using it daily for surfing sessions.
Have the 7 version which is just as excellent...waiting for an easy root method, but I think they're being locked tight.
Would be nice to have an option in 'developer' section that pops up after 3 months & offers root...,....

[Q] Can't get ADB to recognize my device

When I plug my device into my computer, run an ADB command window and type "adb devices", my phone isn't recognized. I'm running 5.0 right now, but I switched back to a sense based ROM and it still isn't recognized. I looked online and it said to check if the correct drivers are installed, but when I plug my phone in nothing happens and I'm not sure where to check to see if they're installed or not. I'm trying to figure this out so I can flash the newer 4.4.4 or 5.0 firmware, but I can't if my device isn't recognized. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

I assume that you are using Windows?
Click on Start\All Programs\HTC and you should see HTC Driver in there.
Have you tried a different USB cable?

I haven't tried a new cable, I don't have any others with me unfortunately. I see the HTC driver folder, it looks to me like the drivers are installed, but I'm still not sure. I'm running Windows 8.1
Also, how can I check which firmware I'm currently running?

You need to go into the bootloader to see your firmware version.
Hold Power + Vol Up and as soon as the screen goes off, slide your finger down to Vol Down while still holding Power.

I did that, but I still don't know how to comprehend all the stuff on that screen. Which one of the lines in the firmware version? I still can't get ADB to recognize my device, I'm starting to get frustrated haha. I've tried multiple ROM backups that I have, I uninstalled HTC Sync Manager and installed it again, I can't get anything to work. Anyone have any more suggestions?

its the drivers
From time to time my computer doesn't like to bring up the drivers when I plug mine in. The driver is definitely the issue though. Make sure the drivers are installed, then plug your phone in and restart your machine. It might find your phone at boot. It's worked for me a few times.

Do you have USB debug enabled on your phone?

Fastboot waiting for any device

Hello everybody, I was trying to update my Magisk and that process failed. I thought nothing of it put it off. Tried to restart my phone a few days later and now it's stuck in a fastboot loop. Cannot even go into recovery. So I'm like okay, probably need to reinstall recovery and flash a clean rom again. Try the "fastboot boot recovery.img" command and it's giving me a "waiting for any device". Googling says it's a driver error, but that's strange because I have used my phone on this computer before with ADB and fastboot. Fastboot and ADB commands work fine on my Oneplus 3T.

A week ago I also had the problems after the Magisk update. But connecting to the PC worked normally for me. Once you've installed the drivers, there shouldn't be any problems. You could use a different cable.
Incidentally, Magisk only messed up the boot image. It is sufficient if you flash your boot.img, then the twrp.zip, reboot into recovery, then the magisk.zip.
That was completely enough for me. Cell phone works normally again, without data loss.

Yeah that's exactly what I am trying to do, I can't even flash the boot.img to get into recovery, my computer won't recognize the device for some reason now. Do you know where I can find the drivers? I could only find shady 3rd party sites. Thanks!

No joy, looks like that's the same file as the one I downloaded. Thanks for your help anyways.

Now I can't even turn my phone off lol. It woke itself up this morning magically and now whenever I hit power off in fastboot it just boots up again into fastboot. Might have to send it in...the horror

Your phone is crying out for help. It doesn't like to die.
I think you will have tried everything possible. Have you already connected it to another computer with the right drivers? Tried other cables?

Haha yeah, it's like your kid who refuses to go to bed and is throwing a tantrum. Yeah two different computers that are known to have worked with this phone in the past (how I unlocked the bootloader in the first place). Different ports, different cables. It seems like I'm having the same issue that a lot of other people are having with the last Magisk update, except they're able to flash the recovery image in fastboot to get back running.

This is a ****ty situation! That was really a nasty magisk update. I wonder why its consequences are so different, even though it is the same cell phone.

usb debugging is enabled on device. running latest version of adb, fastboot. Have tried on both mac and win10 but same issue on both. Oneplus 7 pro is running 10.3.0GM21AA >fastboot devices >adb devices List of devices attached 966c8016...

Stuck on drivers

Hey so like i have a problem. It\s seems to be to simply impossible to get any drivers to work, i tried everything google drivers, sdk ,drivers that come on phone and drivers from some random websites. Nothing works, tried both w10 and linux ubuntu. On my older pc i had 0 issueas other than simply doing something dumb.
Im out of ideas, help? Also tried with sony z5 premium instead of my nokia 7 plus but same thing -_-
Sidenote:fastboot device from phone drivers kinda works(?) But still im not able to do anything because im stuck on waitig on devices when i want to flash

To manage an Android phone from PC you at least need
1. ADB - provided by Google
2. FastBoot - provided by Google
3. Android-USB-driver provided by OEM/Carrier matching your phone
and nothing else.

Have all of those and im stuck on waiting on devices after i reboot to bootloader. Seriously annoying maybe i will try on other pc and see what happens but its not really a solution

If your phone supports Fastboot - take note that not all phones do - then when Fastboot returns "Waiting for device" it's a driver problem: Install correct driver.

True but as i wrote official drivers don't work it's on the phone after all. Rest doesn't work too then . Heh
