This guide will teach you the easiest method to root and install CWM on your HP Slate 7 2800! These instructions are for Linux, but you should be able to do this on Windows with the correct drivers instead of the android.rules files.
HP Slate 4600: I need someone to test this with the 4600!
DISCLAIMER: This was successfully tested on my HP Slate 7 2800 on Linux Mint 17. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY BRICK YOUR TAB IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG!!! Proceed at your own risk!
How to Root:
1. Download Cydia Impactor from http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/ and install it.
2. Download and install adb. There are multiple ways to do this. One way is to install the Android SDK from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html and install adb through the SDK manager.
3. Download the android.rules.zip from https://sites.google.com/site/jrc2swebsite/downloads/hp-slate-7-2800 and extract the .zip file.
4. Move the two **-android.rules files to /etc/udev/rules.d and mark as executable. Restart your computer.
5. Enable USB Debugging in Developer Options on the tablet. Connect it to the computer.
6. Open the Terminal Emulator on your computer and change the directory to the path where adb is located like this: cd insert/path/for/adb/ (hit enter)
7. Start adb and scan for devices by running sudo ./adb devices (hit enter.) You should see a serial number with the word device next to it.
8. Minimize adb and start Cydia Impactor. Make sure it says "# drop SuperSU su to /system/xbin/su." Click "Start." If you get a no device found error, click "Bridge" > "Connect" and then click start again.
9. Reboot your tablet. Download Root Checker from the Play Store to make sure you are rooted. Follow the tutorial in the next post for installing CWM Recovery and the SuperSU app to control which apps are granted root access.

How to Install CWM Recovery and SuperSU:
Download CWM Recovery for the Slate 7 2800 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49165523&postcount=1 and install following the instructions in the post.
Install SuperSU:
Download the latest SuperSU from http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu and flash in CWM Recovery.

Did the slate 7 have a software update? I will have to check that out. Just to make sure, what is your model number?
it is a 2800. I've tried some of the one-click root apps, scripts, and nothing seems to do it, Hp did a nice job at patching this stuff

if you have any old update.zip from 1.05.14 or 1.05.10 and can send it to me you'd make my day

HP has updated their website and only has the new update.zip there. The only thing I know of is a CWM flashable version of the old update.zip. You can find that at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608181
Looking at other threads, the OTA does make rooting no longer possible.

It is still 4.1.1, I'm back on 1.05.6(The stock CWM flashable one), Idk how I did this but i've been able to get CWM back on my device without rooting, I tried to modify boot.img to disable the install-recovery.sh script, this got me stuck in a bootloop but allowed me to flash CWM and the old firmware back in, I guess I got lucky
I got the stock kernel and the Rk30_sdk one to compile but I don't understand how to repack it in boot.img, bootloop everytime.
Thanks for the help anyway buddy.
We should make an all-in-one post for this device with firmwares, CWM, rooting options and stuff

I sort of started that in the 2nd or 3rd post here, titled "Useful Links".
I simply can't root this device.
Cydia Impactor responds with "signature bugs unavailable" and all this Chinese 1-click root stuff doesn't work at all.
Tried on Linux Mint and Windows 7 (both x64).
The problem might be my firmware, which is v1.05.18_user.
This is the stock firmware that was preinstalled on my tablet.
How can i downgrade the firmware?

Sorry I didn't see your post until now! I do not have the latest firmware on my tablet, so I haven't experienced this problem (I decided not to update after seeing the reports of people being unable to update. @math_green20 somehow managed to get it downgraded, but I do not know exactly how he did it. You might be able to figure out something from the previous posts in this thread.

I need a stock recovery image for the Coby Kyros 7022 build 20120106 (previous builds will not work). I tried to flash clockworkmod recovery on my tablet without making a backup of the stock image, only to find that cwm recovery doesn't work with the new build of my tablet. Can anyone give me a stock recovery image for this tablet? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Same Problem.
I have yet to find a solution since 02/2012.
Maybe you can try this?
stock recovery image for Coby 7022
same probleme right here
Coby 7022 20120106 build
I ended up with no recovery after trying to install clockwork. Recovery didn't work (it bypassed recovery when using the proper keys) and I had no good backup. Flashing older firmware in the 11 2011 timeframe led to boot loops. I've not been able to find a stock Coby 7022 firmware from 20120106. However, I did find another post here regarding a different tablet using the same tcc8803 chipset with the same build date. dub dub dub dxtremeDOTcom.au/forum/viewforum.php?f=15 (remove spaces insert correct www etc...) So I gave it a try. I'm actually able to get the 7022 booted using this firmware and system but the touchscreen is not working, so I'm guessing that driver is not exactly correct.
Completely a noob but wanting to learn. BTW I did not use the FWTool as I read posts this kills the TS
So my ask is, does anyone know of a way to get the drivers for the 7022 build dated 20120106?

This restore didn't work on my system. The 7022 from 20120106 seems to be a rare animal and little info on it yet.
Same problem here, I tried to flash a previous CWM/Stock Recovery and nothing... just bootloop when I try to enter recovery mode. So, does anyone have the stock recovery for the 20120106 build yet? Thank you in advance for the one who can help

After reading a bit, it seems what we need are two files that could be copied off a working stock machine of the proper build date or later. In our case on or after 20120106. The problem for me seems to be the lk.rom file. The ROM I used for the DExtreme pad boots but no touch screen function due to the DExtreme being a 5 touch capacitance screen and the Kyros 7022 being but 2.
There may be other problems with the DExtreme files like the camera being different or even the network adapter but no way of telling without the stock boot file. Anyway, I've resigned myself. My 7022 is a paper weight until I find the stock files.
If anyone comes across this looking to root and clockwork mod your 7022 and it's build date is on or after Jan 6 2012, please stop and use ADB to pull a copy of your stock OS off it first. Not only will you be able to help us out, but you'll be able to restore when things go horribly wrong.

Well, I'm expecting another 7022 to arrive next week (kind of a late Mother's day gift), I assume it will be same build, so, I'll try to pull a copy of that unit and see if I can restore it on te semi-dead one. I will post again when it arrives to tell if it worked (or if I have two bricks xD). If it works, I'll upload a copy.

1) You need to install the Android SDK, instructions can be found HERE, but basically you need to:
-) Download the .exe and install it
-) Locate the folder where you installed it and run as administrator “SDK Manager.exe”
-) Check (if unchecked) the boxes for SDK Tools, SDK Platform Tools and Google USB Driver Package. You can check any others if you want, but for now, you only need those.
2) You (may) need the specific drivers for the device. You can use the Motorola drivers, which work very nice with the Cobys, you can install the drivers from HERE. Just download and install.
3) You need to root your device, for that, I recommend using SuperOneClick, which can be found HERE. Too root your device:
-) Make sure you have “USB Debugging mode” activated. In your tablet, go to settings -> Applications -> Development and check (if unchecked) the USB Debugging mode.
-) Connect your device to your PC, if it’s the first time you connect it, you need to wait a little while the drivers get configured.
-) When your device is connected and correctly configured, run SuperOneClick as administrator, and click on “Root”. Now wait a little while it gets rooted.
4) Last step, backup recovery image. For this, you’ll need a terminal emulator. You can download “Android Terminal Emulator” from 1mobile.com or any other app market. To do the backup:
-) Open the terminal emulator on your tablet.
-) Request SuperUser Permissions, to do this, write
Code:
su
and hit enter/return, you’ll be asked if you want to grant SuperUser rights to the app Android Terminal Emulator, click “Allow”.
-) Write this line and hit enter/return:
Code:
dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd6 of=/sdcard/recovery.img bs=4096
-) Now, a file named “recovery.img” should be automatically created on your /sdcard folder. THAT, my friend, is the file we so desperately need to revive our tablets, now zip it and uploaded to any server. (Please )
Now that you are rooted, you can do things such as installing the Google apps. There are a lot of tutorials over the internet, but, let me know if you have any trouble so I can help you
WARNING: Don’t, I repeat DON’T try to install ClockWorkMod using ANY of the tutorials found over the internet. Those tutorials work ONLY for builds previous to 20110106, and if you try to do it on your device, you are going to semi-brick it (just like we did xD).
I just got it as a replacement under warranty today and have not done anything to it. I am busy studying for finals now but when I get a chance(prob friday morning) I will follow the steps and upload the recovery.img file

Well, no problem. If you do that we'll be EXTREMELY thankful
This might be a stupid question but bear with me, I don't know anything about this. Does personal info get stored on the recovery.ing file? Should I remove apps like the amazon app store or other ones that I have to log in with?

For the recovery, no. You just need to reflash the stock recovery using fastboot. Let's see if this works...

Negative, the recovery.img file contains only information about the recovery partition, which is used mostly to restor the tablet to factory defaults

IT WORKS!!!! IT FREAKING WORKS!!!
Dude, nduke416, thank you VERY MUCH. You have definitely provided a solution no one did. So, again thank you very much!!!!
for chiefcrewdog:
to reflash it, you just need to enter fastboot mode in your tablet (power + vol down), copy the recovery.img file to your platform-tools directory on your android sdk folder and from there on a cmd:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
and that's it, you have your recovery back on your 7022!!

Man, is there a possibility you could upload a backup of the boot.img too? the procedure is the same, just changing the dd command to:
Code:
dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd0 of=/sdcard/boot.img bs=4096
I could really appreciate it, that way there is the possibility to have custom ROMs on our builds
Thank you!
ROOT SOLUTION AT #8 POST IN THIS THREAD

Hi, i try to root this phone and i don't found the way.
First of all, this is the phone info:
Hardware : MT6575
Model : TSD A93000
Build number : SJ_A952_A881_M00_S07_120827
Build date UTC : 20120827-095217
Android v : 4.0*
Baseband v: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V10, 2012/07/03 17:10
Kernel v : 2.6.35.7 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #1 Mon Aug 27 17:45:08 CST 2012
(if you need more info, only demand me)
* I think that this phone IS NOT Android 4.0 because tap-in several times in "setting→about the phone→Android version" show the Zombie Arts by Jack Larsson and also the kernel not belong to Android 4.0, for this think i doubt of the MT6575 processor, thereby, how can i be sure of this info? something apk you know?
When i connect phone (mode debbuging and unknow sources ON) at MTK Droid Tools last version, the software "not responding". I try to install several ADB drivers, but seems none work. The only way to "connect" is when MTKDroidTools is "not responding" i open a cmd window and kill the adb server with "adb kill-server", in this moment the MTKDroidTools stop and read the phone, in this moment i copy&paste the phone info up here. At this moment i click on "root" button but don't work displaying:
"Only through CWM it is possible to get root in this phone! look urls (url chinese) (url xda-developers)" sorry i can't post urls, under 10 posts
I try to follow the tutorial of the 2nd link ([GUIDE] How to ReadBack ROM using SP FlashTool, to make the CWM recovery, to install SuperUser (get root) etc.If your phone not rooted using the ROOT button.), but i can't because the phone not connect at MTKDroidTools for take back the scatter file and etc.
What can i do?
Sorry for the tocho
up!

2. Then download Clockwork Mod Custom Recovery.
3. Then boot into recovery mode, and choose "install from SD Card".
4. Choose Clockwork mod recovery.zip, and it will boot you into a different recovery.
5. From that recovery mode you should be able to flash .zip files without signature verification.
6. Choose install zip from SD Card and choose SU Installer.zip.

hello, i have tha same smartphone, can you please write the tutorial in english as well ? google translate isnot something i trust for these procedures.
Also som questions:
Do you have the original rom so that if we brick the phove we can revive it via SpFlashTools? Have you managed flashing CWM recovery?
It is very cheap for its characteristics.
Back camera is most likely 2mp (or 3MP) and front 0.3 for sure. I tried resizing and i found that out . Still more than acceptable quality. I got Antutu score of 4500. It is really high for 6575, since my old 6575 could reach 3700 and my current 6577 gets 6800. I really apreciate that too.
dont really understand what is the real clock of the cpu. . Antutu says 19998.84mhz which is rather impossible for a 6575. Cpu spy as well cannot retrieve the frequency states.
checking the gps now

Still need help or have you rooted your phone?
I did root my phone and removed every chinese appi didnt want.
It would be very usefull for someone to post here the original rom so as to be flashed via SpFlashTools since it is 6575.
PS i dont own it now, i gave it to a friend but i m sure he will ask for my help soon, since i am the one who is aware about technology products...
Thank you anyway
I got really big problem with rooting that phone...
i did everything as this instruction says (that spanish one posted by nomerallo, using mgyun software)
and now some of the root checkers says that i do have root acces, and some of them says that i dont!(WTF!?)
And still programs that need root accesto work - doesnt work
and i cannot make root process again because program thinks that phone is already rooted (i cannot click on that ROOT option)
any ideas how to deal with it?

surely, when appeared the Chinese superuser, click on the left icon, you have to right click icon to give superuser permissions

sorry, but i have no idea what are you trying to tell me. can you be more specific?
Hey guys, since I wanted the flashcounter to keep from climbing up too high, I was looking for a rooting method, that would not involve Odin.
I searched all day long and finally had luck with THIS ONE.
Works like a charm, but leaves a chinese version of superuser behind. But I guess everyone who is looking for root and makes it, should be able to change the superuser.apk (dont forget to set the correct permissions ).
To grant Superuser permissions, you need to hit the right button at the superuser prompt!
-sidenote- mine updated during the setup process, so wait till it goes all the way to 100% and installs again.
Well other than that, have fun and now I need to look into mobile Odin, because then I guess we wont need Odin anymore and can keep the flash-O-meter from climbing
Maybe someone can also create a full system-dump, so we can restore untouched partitions if needed. Would be great if someone who is new here could do so!
TWRP ADB flasher(no Odin-no flashcounter):
http://d-h.st/xde
Credits go to @gr8nole (TWRP) @Ilko (the script) @redy2006 (the package)
If I forgot you here, please PM me and I ll add you ASAP!
Hope it helps some fellows out
Oh and maybe I can find out about the exploit they are using, so we can make our own software, without having to install their software
root
Thanks for the post this worked once I remembered to set to USB bugging mode good thing I read Chinese (joking)
Cool!
Too bad I already rooted my SM-T210 with Odin by now. Still an interesting find!

I also had it rooted before already, flashed back, rooted it this way, flashed TWRP and guess what, I think I also found a simple way to turn you custom status to official again both in the tab and in downnload mode, so I got root, TWRP and am still status: official and able yo update already made a nandroid, so others can test it as well

Does anyone wanna try to restore my backup and see if you also get a rooted but still "official" device? If yes, PM me and I ll upload it

Nice, the value has to be stored somewhere where flashing neither custom ROMs nor Recovery touch it...shouldn't be too hard to find it - but probably dangerous...(bootloader partition?)

Try the following:
I first flashed the ROM released in October 2013, then rooted and installed TWRP.
Then:
Delete Sysscope data
Stop the process
Stop Enterprise vpn (not sure, if this is necessary)
Delete Enterprise sysscope data
Shut your tablet down,
Reboot to upload mode, enter it and check for the change, then hold the powerbutton for 10 secs to reboot and also check in Settings-About phone-Status
And please report back

Did it but it didn't help, would probably have been too easy . Still 2 Flashs and both on "custom". In settings, too. I don't care too much about it, but if you'd like me to try something else, I'll try to help.
EDIT:
I did find this though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315942
Maybe I'll check it out later.

After flashing stock I tried your rooting method but it did't work... I also found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460 wich was originally designed for Sony Phones but is reported to work on Samsung devices, too. Unfortunately it didn't work for me either...
I flashed CWM (from the forums) and rooted via CWM afterwards. Continuing with CM 10.2 now
U could also root the tab 3 t210 using cydia impactor. It didnt increase my flash counter since this tool uses adb to root although u have to install busy box and superuser apk from play store

Does this mean that my current sm-t210 (in fw 4.1.2) which is stock and non rooted can be rooted without losing warranty ?
and the mention about a chinese superuser is easy to "repair" and get back my French status ?
Or what about this other method from Ironman38102:

Thanks.
In Cydiaimpactor, do we need to change anyoption ? (you mention "#drop supersu, etc." : do we need such options or just leave them as they are ?)
Is it the cydiaimpactor which is allowing root, or the supersu and busybox ? Those apps (busybox and supersu) are supposed to require root, but I didn't know they are used to root.

I downloaded cydiaimpactor, but It doesn't find my device. When I connect tablet on PC, the PC can see the tablet. Just in case, I downloaded some drivers (not found on samsung which apprently only lists in downloads some manuals.. but google drove me to some pages with samsung drivers) and my PC can discuss with tablet.
But when clicking "start" in Cydia, I receive an error message "no device found" and if I tru the USB/scan menu, I also receive an error message "no such device". Any idea ?
Cydia had no installer, so I unzipped all files in a temporary folder (c:\temp\cydiaimpactor) and double click on the .exe .

I'm stupid... I had forgotten to enable "usb debug".. Once enabled, I run cydia with same error, but retrying 1 minute later, it worked !
After cydia, I did not install supersu, but only rootkeeper, which detected the tablet as rooted.
What is the advantage of supersu ? Description lists many features, but are those really helpfull when usage is not to develop but rather to enable use of apps such as adblocking, security, etc. ?
Thanks a lot for your help, and bravo for having found and published ths method which allows my device to remain with "official" status !

Ok, after spending a few hours on my LG smart wine (EU version) and with the help of the guys on 4PDA, here is my little how to for rooting our LG H410:
Beware, I'm not responsible if anything goes wrong with the manipulation on your phone and all this was only possible thanks to the people over at 4PDA.ru, thanks to them! I am/was on firmware V10e-EUR-XX official.
1) Use Kinguser apk to get root on your device (don't worry, you can uninstall it later through superSU).
2) Install Flashify and backup your current/original recovery. You'll need to be root to use flashify, that's why we need #1) first. You'll find flashify on the play store.
3) Install TWRP recovery either through flashify or with flash.bat found in LG_H410__Flash_Recovery.rar (this one will be russified, but you can always go through flashify and install the english version afterwards !EDIT!: Since the file was too large to upload, I took the russian recovery.img out of the zif archive. You'll will have to unpack it, copy the recovery_en.img provided after having renamed it to recovery.img, and it should work).
4) Install latest stable or Beta superSU.zip (search google for the official maintainer/version and copy it on your microSD card) from within TWRP.
5) Restart the phone
6) If you open superSU, it will ask you possibly to update the binaries and then to uninstall the other software that might interfere (it's Kinguser). So just say yes and it will take care of everything.
7) (optional) If you're like me needing more storage place on your device, install Link2SD from the play store. If I'm right, you'll need to have a second partition on your SD card (Ext4 file system), after the Fat32 one, to be able to move your apps to the SD card with Link2SD. I even bought the Plus version in order to be able to move the whole app.
You can use MiniTool Partition Wizard Free to set your partitions on th card. Add the new primary partition in Ext4 AFTER the Fat32 one, otherwise windows won't recognise your card.
I forgot to backup my stock recovery before flashing the new one, but all should be fine for you if you do it in the order above.
You have to unpack recovery_en.zip and flash the .img you have in the folder, don't flash the zif through TWRP, it won't work. And don't forget to rename it to recovery.img if you use it within the LG_H410__Flash_Recovery folder.
Once again, thank the people who did the job over at 4PDA, especially Soft-Man for trying out things, they did all the work. I'll try to attach the files needed here.
Hope it will help someone, have fun with your phone!
Sure it is interesting .... just one wuestion ... what about if i stop after step 1? If kinguser gets me root i personally don't have any need to go further ...
Of course you can, if you want to keep the official recovery (probably better if you want to be able to install official OTA updates).
I would still install SuperSU through flashify though (I think you can do so without having a modded recovery installed, but I'm not sure), and get rid of Kinguser the way I described it. Thing is I don't really trust those rooting apk, you never know what they install and what they keep track of on your phone... Not sure what's left of it when you uninstall it either.
Tell us how it worked for you.

still looking for a way to flash my bricked h410
..sorry to bother you guys, but where else to ask for help if not at xda ?
After finally reactivating my phone i like to share some bugs in stock firmware.
First of all LED notification: Is there a workaround for the blinking time, i find 15 seconds are much to long, i like to have 2 seconds. Tried some third party apps but the ideal solution would be by modyfing the stock app.
Second the T9: Its horrible ! Is there a way to switch it off ? By deleting the XT9. apk i totally messed it up and only have the numbers left.
Third of all, the keyboard .. Is there a good alternative with bigger (resizable) keys. Currently am using big buttons keyboard but am not really happy with it
I try to root LG H410 (EU version) but after installing Kinguser apk, root was not available so Flashify rapport an error about impossibility to access root.
My version of software is V10c-260-01
Hi all,
I have a Wiko Rainbow Jam (which is provided with the stock rom "Wiko Rainbow Jam version 8", Android Lollipop 5.1 and the latest updates from Wiko), is about a week that I attempt to root my phone, but I am unable to do this operation, since I am totally unable to mount the /system as RW, and furthermore the bootloader is locked.
Firstly I found this method which consist to write/flash the TWRP custom recovery in place of the original one:
Root method 1
(sorry for the Google Translate link, but I cannot find the same how-to in English)
Which seems similar to this how-to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63803008&postcount=5
But seems that these two methods will wipe/erase everything on my phone, and I would avoid this risk.
I also read that by flashing another custom recovery I will be unable to install updates from Wiko.
Then I tried this method using adb which is more simple:
https://f-droid.org/forums/topic/tutorial-how-to-root-an-android-device/
But when I launch the "adb root" command, all that I get is "adbd cannot run as root in production builds"; so I attempted various workarounds to "fix" adb, but all unsuccesfully.
I have to mention the fact that I have some skills in using Linux and the shell commands: maybe there would be a way to place the "su" binary on my Phone using Linux on my computer, by logging on the phone as root user, by acquiring the needed privileges?
Any help/suggestion/hints would be very appreciate! :good:
Kind regards.
I have a mtk6580 phone and also had the root issues, for a while I used kingroot, which rooted fine but I didnt trust it. Then I used supersume to get rid of kingroot which seemed to work but again, wasnt 100% it was all gone. Followed a similar guide to your first link which wasnt working. What worked for me was:
Download the twrp recovery .img file
rename it to recovery.img
open SPflash tools
add your own scatter file from your stock rom
deselect all the boxes except recovery
double click the recovery address box and find the renamed recovery.img
click download
plug your turned off phone in,
let it flash.
reboot into recovery
select reboot system
TWRP will tell you its not rooted and ask to install superSU
swipe for yes
reboot and you are rooted.
NO DATA LOSS
Thank you for this detailed how-to! However, for me, nor kingroot, kingoroot, framaroot and no other apk worked on my phone, so I will attempt to try your method, but first I have some questions:
1): On my phone, under SETTINGS > DEVELOPER OPTIONS, I can see the option “OEM unlocking”: I have to enable this option to permit the flashing of the TWRP img?
2): Is ok to download TWRP from here? dl.twrp.me/i9300/twrp-2.8.6.1-i9300.tar.html
3): "add your own scatter file from your stock rom":
where I can get/grab such file?
4): "TWRP will tell you its not rooted and ask to install superSU":
so TWRP is already provided with the SuperSU utility?
5): To be sure to avoid any risk, here I have a backup of my phone, which was done using "adb backup -apk -shared -all"; in case of emergency I will be able to restore my phone using this backup?
Many thanks for your attention! :good:

Ok, seems that such file was available in the first link:
s000.tinyupload.com/download.php?file_id=53888272183191245346&t=5388827218319124534686744
is called MT6580_Android_scatter.txt , can you take a look and tell me if is ok?
Many thanks!
1) cant hurt to turn it on, however the phone will be flashed whilst turned off so dont know if its needed, but Im sure I wouldve enabled it.
2) and 3) I dont know what your exact model number etc.. is for your phone, so the twrp you would have to find and check yourself, go here: http://www.needrom.com/category/others/u-v-w-x-y-z/brands-w/wiko/ and you can try to get a twrp from there, and definetely get a stock rom. Use the scatterfile from an 'SP TOOLS FLASHABLE STOCK/UPDATE ROM'
4) yes
5) I dont know, I dont use adb and wouldnt like to say its OK. You can use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.onnandbup&hl=en which will make a TWRP or CWM backup of your entire phone which you can then flash in TWRP or CWM once they are flashed, or get all the data from the backup. I would advise to find this out before trying though, just in case. I personally didnt lose any data, flashed twrp in SPtools, took 5 seconds, rebooted, added SU, rebooted, took 2 minutes and everything was still there.

it has to be a scatter file from your exact model of phone, as everything has to match, partitions, nvram...etc... loads of things that can go wrong if the scatter is wrong

I went there, but my model is not listed.. As I stated in the subject is a Wiko Rainbow Jam: if i search for Rainbow Jam is such link, no model is displayed..

I got the scatter file in the first link "Root method 1", where there is the how-to for my exact model.
ah right, in that case, its OK

Ok: it was painless differently from what I thought: now, following your advice (I used the TWRP and the scatter file from the first link) my phone is nicely provided with the root access
EDIT: was necessary to activate the “OEM unlocking” option under SETTINGS > DEVELOPER OPTION, without this option activated, I was unable to flash the TWRP recovery img.
Many thanks!

Glad it worked lots of guides I saw also made it excessively complicated, this way took you what? 2 minutes? And am guessing all your data is safe and untouched.

Yeah, it took about 2 minutes, just the time to figure out that I needed the USB OTG cable with an usb mouse and to browse to the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76.zip file (as I said I used the TWRP posted in the first link, which doesn't work with the touch screen).
I want to say thank you again for your friendly assistance!
EDIT: Yes: all my data is safe and untouched!
