[Q] xPosed on bluestacks 0.8.12.3119 - General Questions and Answers

Hi
I want to install xPosed on bluestacks 0.8.12.3119 version. I 've downloaded the xPosed installer, then I clicked on and clicked on framework/install/update
I have an error message:
Carte SD:/mnt/sdcard/android/date/de.robv.android.exposed.installer/files
Copy of Xposed-disabler-recovery.zip...
Montage de /system en écriture ( writing I think, sorry the message is in french)
cp: can't create ' /system/bin/apps_process.orig' : Read- only file system
Echec de la création d'une sauvegarde de /system/bin/app_process which I think could be translated in
failure of the backup of /system/bin/app_process
I'm a beginner in this and in xposed so please answer the more precisely you can.
Thank you in advance

it would seem to indicate that you are not rooted, or something is wrong with your root. i could be wrong.
if your root is working fine, you could try getting a root file exploorer like "root explorer", and change that directory to read/write (r/w) before running the installer to see if it will help.

I've checked the root it seems good. ( with root checker)
Could you detail the process please? I do not understand "hange that directory to read/write" how to do?

get "root explorer", open and go to the /system folder. above the files, near the top, there is a box that says "mount r/w".
just click on that and it will make the hole system able to write. i think after you reboot it will change back to default by itself, but check it when you are finished, and change it back if it did not.

don't know if it helps but i also installed busybox binaries, xposed suggested me this
and by the way, some people tell that it is the superuser and i need SuperSU, what is it for? I've not installed it yet, I'm about to

you should see this
if you dont, something is wrong.
you have no superuser app? or you have superuser and not supersu?
also make sure you got root explorer and not explorer. the standard explorer does not have root privileges.
edit, let me fix the link

after you install the su app try exposed again before the root explorer trick. the problem may just be exposed isnt getting root permission because you dont have superuser app installed.

SuperSu is installing for more than 5 minutes now... I've updated the binaries in "normal" as they asked. Even with this I'm getting a problem... what's more I tried superuser and I need "elite" to put apps? And it's not free
And , root explorer isn't free?
Have you heard about the bluestacks multitool by codelover, maybe it would help me but I don't know how to download it, there isn't a link in the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565644
I also got an app "mount r/w" I tried it but doesn't work

this superuser is the one i would use and i never had to pay anything.
yes root explorer isnt free, but it is the best, thats why i use it.
sorry i dont know anything about the bluestacks multi tool.
the mount r/w likely doesnt work because you dont have a superuser app installed to give it permission.

So I have to grant the permission to Xposed installer with this superuser?
How to do it? To put it in the list?
I don't want to buy anything, do you think it's possible to grant the permission to "mount r/w" and then use it for the "/system and then mount r/w" tricks ?

i would look into that and see if it is a flashable zip or if it is an app in there.
when you try to do something with exposed, a popup should come asking you to grant it permission. i have never had to add it to the list manually, if that is even possible.
i wasn never forced to buy anything in 4 years using superuser apps, im not sure why it is wanting you to do so.
if you can get permission for one thing without buying, there should be no reason why you cant give it to any without buying.
i have no idea why it is doing this to you, doesnt make sense.

ok i looked, that file i quoted is a flashable zip, and it has the superuser app in it. so if you remove the other superuser apps, the go to recovery and flash that zip, you should have properly working root and superuser app installed.

Okay I'm sorry it's the first time I have to do this. When I click on Xposed and install it tells me the message I wrote in my first post.
Even with superuser installed it doesn't ask for permission.
Maybe it's free, certainly, but since I didn't get popup , I guessed we had to add it manually or buy "elite", you must be right, it's perhaps free but I do not see popup of Xposed.
It's getting really annoying , clearly what should I do? Just want to install Xposed on bluestacks and the message in my first post appears
I do not have SuperSU ( 10minutes for install, I've quit)
or Superuser ( don't popup?)
And don't want to buy root explorer...?
I've downloaded the file, it's good because I got an AMD processor^^
What is recovery? how to flash a zip?
I'm sorry I do know nothing I appreciate your support.

that would be my next move if i were you.
after reading that post, it looks like it should have been your first move.
it is best to read through these op's to ensure you have all the relevant info you need before starting.
it normally is not this difficult to do these things, you are new to it, and there will be a learning curve. but in the future you will know, and things will come much easier.
if my above suggestions dont help or fix the issue, im not sure what else to tell you to try.
personally, when i have issues like this, i just dump the hole thing and start over fresh from the rom up and correct any mistakes i have made previously as a go along with the new setup.
sorry i cant be of more help, you got all i know to suggest.

you need a custom recovery like cwm, twrp, or phils, to flash zips.
it would be best to look in your phones development forum for these recoveries and installation instructions, if you dont already have one installed.
if you dont know how to get in after you install it, do a quick search of the forum or google to help you. it is just a button combination when powered off, but many phones are different, or i would just tell you how.
also you will want to put that zip on your sd card or storage at some point. thats where recovery will look for it to install.
in the new recovery, you should see options like "install zip from sd or storage" then "choose zip bla bla" then you navigate to your zip and press "yes" when it wants to install.

busybox not installed properly

i have a samsung epic 4g. iused super1click but it is saying that busybox was not installed properly and now rooted apps are saying i do not have root access but root checker says i have root access please help
download "busybox installer" from the android market. you can install the latest busybox from it
i installed busybox installer but it is sayin it is already installed but not installed correctly
go into /system/xbin and /system/bin and look for the file "busybox." delete it and try installing it again with busybox installer
i have tried that in both system/bin and system/xbin but it will not delete. do i need a specific file management app

i forgot to mention that you will need to mount your system as read/write. to do this, a file management app would be very helpful. root explorer in particular (a paid app, but as you may already know there are always ways to get apps for free; that is all i will say about warez as it is prohibited on xda). in root explorer, you can mount your phone between r/w (read/write) and r/o (read only). once you mount it as r/w, i believe you can now delete those files
one other thing i forgot to mention, i keep getting a notification that my su binary is outdated when i click to update it says fail.
ok so i was able to delete the busybox files out of the 2 folders but when i went to install it with the busybox app it says "it looks like busybox is installed but it does not appear to be the version that you selected to have installed, you may want to try the intalation again but this using a different istalation location." i try a different location and check my root checker and it keeps telling me that busybox is installed incorrectly
as i have not used superoneclick before, i have no knowledge about the su binary being updated. i used z4root to root my phone.
your best bet is to do one of the following:
a) if you can unroot your phone, then do so (i believe superoneclick allows you to unroot your phone). then try rooting it again using z4root. download z4root from here and tell me what options it gives you when you open the app (it should say either temporary root and permanent root; select permanent root). z4root should work on your phone as it has the same requirements as superoneclick (which is having android version 2.2/2.2.1)
b) if step a didnt work, post in the superoneclick thread for help. but step a should work

I have this same issue on my Nexus 6, i also used Nexus Root Toolkit, how did you set your system to r/w at boot as root?

I know this is old!
Hello readers,
I am aware that my resolution might not help everyone but it will definitely help some. This might only help if you are rooted and using the SuperSu app..
I know this is a really old thread. But there might still be people out there that have this problem and are having a hard time finding the the answer for it. I was just 5 mins prior searching on google for an answer but could not find one.
And so how did I fix it you may ask? (I hope)
Well long story short I turned the following option of in the SuperSu application: "Mount namespace separation"
I thought of this because I had seen a pop-up message when using Titanium Backup that if I experience problems, I should disable that option. And it was probably referring to the Titanium Backup app alone and not any other. But I gave it a shot and it worked.
In detail for those who need it:
It does not matter if you have the Busybox (by Stephen (Stericson)) application installed during this or not. (I had it uninstalled during)
Open the SuperSu app, swipe left on the screen twice so you get to the Settings page (or just click the Settings tab)
Scroll down until you see the option "Mount namespace separation".
If it is activated, disable it.
Reboot
Go ahead and install Busybox if you haven't.
Open Busybox and wait for it to load completely
Click install
Hurray!
Hello, i have bought busybox pro but i can't manage to install it through the app, in /system/xbin, i only have one file named "dexlist" and in /system/bin i have many files but none named busybox, when i try to install busybox on /su/bin, i get a message: "it looks like the installation of busybox was not successful / try installing it to a different location that may resolve the issue", but i tried differ'ent locations and it didn't work
---------- Post added at 09:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:53 PM ----------
don't forget to reboot after unchecking "mount namespace separation" !! if not it won't work. my phone was quite long to reboot though...
it still doesn't work for me... on huawei p8 lite 2017 (PRA-LX1)
I'm still using the old version not BusyBox V+ .. anyone tried the latest version? it seems quite confusing and I couldn't execute scripts
Busybox
Example if use custom rom viper10 you can set system r/w in tweak > misc

I'd be happy to help. It's been a little while and I haven't repeated the process yet so forgive me if I'm not super clear, even though I think I should be.
So what I meant was get the app Root Explorer ($3.99 on the app store) I don't know how 'piracy' is really looked at on XDA, though I can't imagine well, but you can download the Root Explorer 'pro' apk, and then - as long as it helps - purchase the app from GPlay to make sure to support the devs, which is what I did.
So to get to the actual process - should be quite easy as I did this on OPR6 myself - open Root Explorer, navigate to the "root" tab at the top. Then you should see "Mounted as r/o" and right next to it, a button that says "Mount R/W". Toggle that button, and the text on the left should state "Mounted as r/w", then try to install busybox (however you prefer - I used BusyBox Free by Stephen (Stericson) like I always do).
Hope you are successful with that method, please keep me updated with your outcome so I can help as best as I can.

[Q] Lost root access?

Hi guys android newbie here! My friend rooted my Nexus 5 and it was working fine for a couple of weeks. Yesterday I tried to open SuperSU and it didn't work! Other apps that required root didn't work either.
I have been looking around and it seems OTA updates may have screwed up my root. Every time I try to open SuperSU it says: "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" If you just upgraded to Android 4.3 (I have 4.4), you need to manual re-root. Consult the relevant forums for your device!" I have used root checker by joeykrim and it says "Sorry! this device does not have proper root access" (to confirm my root is busted).
My question is, is there any way to fix this without re-rooting? If I have to re-root, can I just directly re-root it again using something like Wugs rootkit?
Thank you very much in advance!
Just flash the newest version of supersu and you'll be good to go..... http://download.chainfire.eu/370/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip

Hmmm... from the link I posted in one of my last post, you can just use a useful app called "flashify" and flash it that way (the easiest way) but you need that file that is in the link obviously to do so haha. So afterwards when in flashify you'll get 3 simple options, boot image, recovery image, and zip file. choose zip file, go into your downloads folder from the file explorer from the app (which it should be there if you downloaded it off your phone) and let the app do the rest

Of course, you don't have root access, silly me lol Well guess we'll have to do it the hard way (it's not really that complicated) ok read carefully. Power off your phone, afterward hold the power and volume down buttons which should get you into the bootloader, cycle trough the options with the volume buttons and when you see recovery mode select it with the power button, now depending on which Recovery you have you'll have to choose the option that says install or install from sd card, again, depending on which one you have this will be slightly different. After doing i believe the paths will be the same, chose 0/ then look for the download/ folder which you should have that supersu.zip file, if you're using twrp recover it should be touch screen and you simply select it and swipe to install, if you're using cwm (which i do) you'' have to scroll with the volume buttons and select the file with the power button to install. I hope I was as clear as i could be, good luck
after going into recovery mode, there is just a android robot with his chest open and an exclamation mark! can't proceed after that.
Ouhhh you don't have a recovery then, do you have adb or any kind of toolkit?
I have wugs toolkit. but every time i try to do anything at all on it. It says ADB device not found? That seems to be preventing me from doing anything as well.
Do you have the adb drivers installed or/and usb debug turned on in developer settings?
how/where do i install adb drivers? I have not done so, and i doubt my friend did it when he rooted.
I do turn on usb debugging when i tried to unroot/root on wugs toolkit
In wugs toolkit it has a walk-through on how to do so, i suggest you use the RAW drivers option
I must be blind to not have seen this before. Thank you very much for your help I'll let you know how it goes!

Answers:-
1. Uninstalling of superuser with clean Unroot will Remove Root Binary from System and will effect Root, as without SU app you cant play with Root..
2. No, You Can't.
3. No they won't Function. You can uninstall Root apps if they are in System Folder other you will be able to uninstall.

But tell me one more thing what superuser does.. i think superuser app only gives the permission to the root apps to install something in root area.. right? superuser app work is just to allow or deny the permission to the app right..?
So if i don't unroot my phone and if i just simply remove superuser app then i still should be able to install root apps in the root? because my phone is rooted.. and i have just removed superuser app which gives permission only.
I think superuser only gives the permission to the app SO apps will be intall in the root just without any permission of superuser?? this is what superuser does ONLY?
I think i am misunderstanding something about superuser.. Correct me please if i am wrong.. :good:

Yes,
It gives permissions to access, modify your Root area[Restricted when you are Non-Rooted].
No,
Removing SU app will remove permissions with It. So after that you cant use those Rooted app which you gave Permissions when u had SU App.
Note:- Without any SU app you can't Play your System Files..
nor your rooted apps will work..

S4 mk2 i337 soft bricked...
This is the link I started dealing with:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
Problem is, I uninstalled a system file or two...or 15...and now the phone will start up, but no apps show up, just black screen. I can navigate still and work around it, but what i CAN'T do is give permission to that batch file once it recognizes the phone.
Obviously, I didn't know what I was doing, so I didn't realize that unrooting it wouldn't solve the problem, so I need to root, and then somehow get my system files back in place. Titanium Backup says my back up doesn't exist...pretty frustrated, I've spent 10+ hours on this site and some others trying to get back in, so I apologize upfront for possibly missing a post elsewhere

[Q] Superuser Issues

Hey, Ok so i updated my Huawei u8650 to android 4.4.2 and something went wrong with my root. I can open superuser and it shows my binary and all that and it says im rooted but when i go to a app that requires root access like terminal emulator for example and i type in the command su. nothing happens it just goes to the next line. and i tried to mount my SD card partition in link2sd and it said that the script cant be created because its not allowed to su.
I thought it could be that superuser just wasn't allowing permissions but i open superuser and theres no apps, no logs or anything. I checked my settings and they're all fine and i even tried to use SuperSU instead and i still got the same thing. There's no prompt to allow access either. I dont know if the apps are just not trying to get root access or what? No app can get root permission and i need to get this fixed so i can fix some bugs on the rom. Please Help.
Thanks to all who attempt or do help. Ill be sure to hit thanks for u.
Please Help!!!

I really need help to figure this out. Someone please help ie been trying to fix this problem for 2 days now and have gotten no where.

Just got an Android phone few days ago..

And already root problems...
I've been following this video from a dev guy in here, but can't find the post right now. Anyways, i did exactly every thing he did, step by step.
The only difference between him and I, is that his baseband-version is: "G965FXXS9DTD7" while my baseband-version is "G965FXXU7DTA3"
In his video as i've givin' a link to at top of my post, in his description he have everything needed to be loaded, and also a webside;
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s9-plus/firmware/#SM-G965F
Where i can find other versions, but mine is not on the list.... So i just tried his version and hoped for the best.
But now when i try to go into /data by the app called "Root Explorer" it says my phone is not rooted. But when i go into Magisk Manager, it's all updated to latest version and all good.
I don't know how to check what i did wrong or how to fix it... Can someone please help me out here. And maybe guide me step by step or direct me to an already existing guide..
PS:
If this thread is in the wrong section, please move it to the right one - this forum is also a bit confussing for me, but maybe thats because of the headache....
Regards
Martin S
Download root checker and see if yo have root if you do check inside magisk , maybe you blocked root Explorer's permission by accident

But how can i block Ecplorer's permission? Haven't done anything in the Magisk Settings? :S
I need(ed) to move 1 app i downloaded (GPS spoofing) to /system/apps like in the guide im following, but the "Root Explorer" said when i was trying to, that my phone wasn't rooted.

If root explorer asked for permission and you skipped it may have not given it root access , you could try reinstalling root explorer and give it root permissions right away

When you just said that i came in mind, when i downloaded the app and opened it, it had a "allow" or "not" window to storage, but when i tried to click on that some came up for a second when iu was tapping on the screen.
Must have been that, for now i reinstalled the app and it came up again, where i could grant Superrights.
BIG THANKS!
Glad it worked!
