ALL IN HERE! -_-
For locked bootloaders, you can just delete the custom kernel inside the rom. and flash the stock kernel.

No,CM based rom cannot boot from stock kernel, you need custom kernel,
If you want CM based rom,you must unlock bootloader,
If you want Stock based rom(AVD,Alien),you don't need unlock bootloader, just delete "boot.img"
Most of xperia j roms are stock based, so no need to worry. But if you want cm based or kitkat you must unlocked your bootloader.
Yes, but for Xperia SP there are CMs for locked bl. Too bad there's no CM for locked J :/
And as for the bootloader, many people (like me) have non-unlockable bl :/
In Alien or AVD i didn't have to remove boot.img from zip
thx
Ok thank you for the information =)

I recently upgraded my xperia J to the official 11.2.A.0.2.1 (4.1.2) firmware but i kinda want 4.2 on it now..the problem is i cant seem to root it on the current firmware...is there any way i can root it without downgrading.apparently u need a rooted device to downgrade and i cant root..so im kinda stuck.,
You down grade by flashing a stock firmware ftf file with flashtool so you dont need root to flash stock roms. I don't think there is a 4.2 rom for xperia j bro. there are root tutorials in general section for rooting jb for locked & unlocked bootloaders moke sure you follow the right one.
actually i have unlocked the boot loader of my xperia l according to the sony official way...and now i need to flash the kernel and the rom...but unfortunately i don't have kernel and rom for xperia l...so i have to download it...but i am confused which one(for both the kernel and rom) should i download..."official" or "clean and tweaked"...please suggest me...i don't have any idea regarding this topic..!!!

i think for kitkat you just need to be on stock 4.2.2 { for the best } to avoid any problem brother and see the thread of the rom that you wanna flash cos kikat rom requires different recovery as i remember
So I got an old Xperia C2305 and wanted to install a custom ROM on. Only to find out it has a locked bootloader with no way of unlocking . Anyway, I've tried a few custom ROMS, but they're all Jelly Bean based that's themed like lollipop. I was wondering if it's possible to compile MIUI 6/7/8 from source since I've download the Sony device's kernel source. So is it possible to compile MIUI(PatchROM) for my device, despite having a locked bootloader or am I stuck with Jelly Bean forever?
anyway, any help/advice would be appreciated
