Hi fellow Sensationalists
I have three quick questions for you all and hope you will help me
1. Is there a way to replace the rosie dockbar without forfeiting Sense?
I know about launchers and tried a few of them, but then I lose Sense and it's widgets, which are the main reasons for going with HTC. I dont want just a different skin, I actually want a dockbar like Launcher pro gives me - with dedicated buttons for mail, sms, phone and browser, if it can be scrolled, it'd be even better! The Rosie Dockbar is useless as it has only 3 buttons of which I actually only need "Phone". At least this was much better on the iphone
2. Is wallpaper scrolling gone for good with Sense 3.0? I have it with the launchers but I want it in Sense :'( Any mods out there?
3. I just can't find a 2g/3g toggle widget. There are only Shortcut widgets that take me to that seetings page. But I want a one-tap button that switches between them (Note: I am not looking for a widget that deactivates mobile data completley)

I've asked the same thing....I too came from an iPhone.....the best thing your gonna get is go launcher. That's ok I love this phone over the iPhone

Question 1. Answer is no.. but if you get adw launcher and beautiful widgets you will be as close to sense as your going to get.
Question 2. I have been using Live wallpapers and I am 95% sure they still work with adw launcher.
As for question #3 Not really sure.. Everywhere I go I have 4G

I just like the scrolling wallpapers too much, and the dockbar is an essential part of any OS because I don't want to go 3 screens back just to launch the webbrowser. In both areas, HTC failed big time (oh, that and the 768mb Ram instead of 1gig)
Question 3 is also a no, it seems the super-open Android prohibits this. Cyanogenmod is reportedly the only Rom where this is possible. Some recommended me "extended quicksettings" and such, but all of them cost $$$ and I don't know if the really work.
Here in Switzerland we have no 4g at all, but for checking mails and whatsapp I prefer 2g anyways as it saves alot of juice, everything else is overkill for such small data transfers. I only switch on 3g when browsing or youtubeing. Extended the battery ALOT on my iphone.
at least that part was better on my iphone.
Hey everyone. I've been working on this ROM for months. I'm not a big fan of Sense 3.6. A lot has changed since 3.0. Some features I'm extremely pleased with but not so much with others. So I came up with a ROM called Sense Mix. It's based on RUU 3.33.401.53.

All apps attainable from the Market except for Facebook (used by Friendstream), Maps, Street, Soundhound and YouTube (used by me)
Other apps I find useless (STK, HTC Facebookchat, possibly others I cannot recall)
Old Google Search and Voice (replaced with GNow)
HTC Sense Launcher and Widgets (I dislike them)
'Recent Apps' in status bar
Lockscreen shortcuts (cannot be set because Rosie is removed)

Notes:
The ROM itself is T-Mobile USA optimized. If you are a T-Mobile user, you can flash Wi-Fi Calling. If you are are a Sensation XE or Sensation Z710e user, you can flash a patch to change the device name.
Sense 4.0 theme: I took SadeSkin 2.0 and fixed many errors I found with the images. I have also made the lock screen's navigation bar invisible. If you select a different skin, it will reappear.
SuperSU - I have not included SuperSU because it is in the Market AND because root apps are automatically granted acces (I don't know how I did that). There is a 'su' binary in the ROM so if you want control over what apps are granted root, download ONLY the SuperSU app. The binary is built into the ROM.
I've been working on this ROM for months. I know exactly how I want it to be but nevertheless, suggestions are welcome
Adobe Flash Player must be updated but it is not displayed in the Market. Bypass the issue by clicking here from your phone.
MOST IMORTANTLY: I am a chef, not a developer. There are system apps I want to modify since some system options are no longer relevant; for example,the Personlize app no longer needs 'Lock screen shortcuts', 'Scene', 'Add to home'. If anyone can modify the apps to how I want them, please PM me. It'll make this ROM more complete.

One suggestion, use aroma to provide users ability to choose app they want to remove, it is much better than u delete it by yourself

Where did you acquire the Galaxy S3 Touchwiz launcher?
Steve's Elegencia ROM has option to use S3 launcher in aroma.

Nice ROM, but i dont really think xLoud is working, because there's no difference on its loudness compared to xLoudless ROMs.
xLoud effect is clearly visible on viperS rom.

I think htc , itself wont like you tampering and putting something on playstore which makes use of htc framework.
they removed htc look alike widgets , dont think this is gonna last long on play store.
or
u planning to just keep it only on these developments forums?

the opensense sdk is freely available for everyone.

Eh, only reason they'd do that is if i managed to actually make something better which I doubt that be the case
Thats almost like saying were not aloud to have roms out like Insertcoin, Renovate or Vipor Mod

One of 2 things could cuz this as I see InsertCoin users are having the same problem. A feature request has been modified in the rom to the point, Sapphire doesn't understand it or the model ID number doesnt match of what it should be in Google Play to talk back to compatibility list.
I will be investigating this

Same here, I didn't find anywhere to turn it off.
It's something that I would have liked to have known before reinstalling all of my apps and all the icons appeared on my homescreen.
I came from an LG g4 and for all the stick LG gets for their os it has some really useful features that I always thought were stock Android. Smart settings used to automatically turn on my Wi-Fi when I got home and off when I left etc app pinning on recent apps so you can close all but leave say spotify running... Also LG also allows custom icons unlike HTC, I love this phone though of course [emoji16][emoji16]

Bump! I really hate icons being dumped on my homescreen. Wasn't like this on my HTC 10
I think this is an oreo thing. The play store does not have an option to turn off adding a new app on the desktop and HTC Sense does not have that option either. A workaround is to use a third-party launcher, for example, Nova, where I think you can stop this.
Or if you want to use HTC Sense, just remove the icon whenever a new app is installed. :silly:
