Hey there guys.
Long time creeper first time post. Plus a while since I have even tried to root or flash custom roms.
I succesfully rooted my verizon I535 Galaxy SIII 4.4.2 but went to flash Liquid smooth (which i know now i wasnt supposed to) onto it and got:
system software not authorized by verizon has been found blah blah blah. but i can still get into download mode. but not recovery mode. In download mode it reads:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I535
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
BOOTLOADER AP SWERV: 2
I got the files i need from [GUIDE Win/Linux/Mac] Debrick 4.3 with Odin or Verizon Utility + PIT [SOFT BRICK] thread.
Im on Mac and got JOdin working and followed every step to the T. In my termal window it says device detected but in JOdin it still has the red "Disconnected" and in message window it reads <ID:0/008> Added!! Device Not Detected.
any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
anyone?

Not too many ppl have MAC, you should try to find a PC and see if it works.
Using mobile XDA, and entered question in wrong thread... sorry!
JOdin doesn't work with 4.4.2. Personal experience. Only 4.3 or lower. You need to get a PC. It is required to use Odin on 4.4.2 like that.

OK, so I just got a new LG G3 and I'm in the process of trying to reset my GS3.
Not long after I got the phone, I tried to root it (rather unsuccessfully). Didn't work out, so I restored to stock. Used the phone for the next 2 years or so with no issues.
Went to reset the phone and I got the unauthorized software warning.
I have now tried to restore to a stock ROM via ODIN V3.09 but I keep getting a fail at aboot.mbn.
What kind of information do you need to assist?
Thank you in advance!
Still searching the forum... still trying...
ODIN mode screen reads:

I'm trying again but using this file this time:
androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358553154
OK, seems to be working perfectly now!
Much thanks to "BadUsername" for his diagnosis of the problem and providing a link to the correct tar ball!!!!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 G900P and I tried to downgrade from 5.0 to 4.4.2 before realizing that I can't do that because of the locked bootloader and all. Now the phone will not boot and odin gives me the error SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 3 > Binary 1. I have searched high and low and have found that this means I tried to download with a locked bootloader but can't find a way to flash the stock 5.0 firmware to fix this issue. I have tried multiple times with odin and Samsung Kies. Kies does not recognize the phone in download mode so thats a no go. I am completely stumped here. This isn't my first go round with odin or Samsung devices just jumped right in without much research this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me step by step or just a link to one so i can get this thing back going. I have screen shots of what the phone and odin both say when this fails but this being my first post i can't post them. Thank ahead of time.
Hello everyone. I just got this samsung galaxy s3 verizon and I was looking to unlock the bootloader and install CM rom. I saw a the thread about Casual tool and I used. My phone is on 4.1.2 and Baseband of I9300XXBMF1. I followed the instructions exacrky as stated on the thread. I installed root, insecure bootlaoder and CWM in that order. After installling CMW, the phone asked to restart and I clicked continue. It went off and has not powered on since then. Please is there anything I can do?
My phone details
Baseband: I9300XXBMF1
BuildNumber: JZO54K.19300XXBMF1
AP: I9300XXBMF1
CP: I9300XXBMF1
CSC:I9300XXBMF1
Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks
Maybe someone can chime in, but I think you borked partitions. Is this the international edition? I assume you can use
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581166
BUT IF U HAVE INTL EDITION YOU NEED a international debrick image or a full odin restore file. By full I mean when looking inside w/ 7zip you will see sbl1, 2. The bootchain is what you need. You can download multiple versions and look inside them. I had a similar incident years ago, and back then no debrick images. All the info is scattered about the forum. I got a 16gb spare card & dd (careful Its oftentimes called disk destroyer) image to card, then put into phone, turned on & booted. Once it works hold buttons for dl mode & reflash. There is a better guide elsewhere possibly ATT section, that link was the first.
#2 If you can still reach download mode? You may be able to odin back with a .pit file & correct image. checking repartition & load image & pit.

Can you verify that your phone is I9300 on the sticker behind the battery? When you flashed the recovery.IMG was it for i9300 and what method did you use to flash it?
Are you sure casual worked to unlock the bootloader? Flashing recovery on locked bootloader never goes well.

I used the Casual app to do everything and it got bricked. I followed the instruction on another thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581166 about unbricking using a sd card and my phone only responded to the 4.4.2. I flashed the 4.4.2 stock rom and it is now working, though I am now stuck with a locked bootloader. Thanks for the response, I was beginning to think no one would respond.
The phone is working well now, but it is not responding to test codes like *#06# (for IMEI) or even *#*#1234#*#*. Do you have any idea on what might be wrong?
Thanks

The firmware that you are trying to flash is giving you the sw rev error because that firmware is an older/downgraded version than the version that is already on the phone. You have to flash the firmware that is the same as what is already on the device or a newer version, you can't flash an older version. Find the newest, most updated firmware that you can find for your specific model number.
Do a Google search for:
"Stock firmware for SM-G935FD"
Then find the newest available version that is made for your specific region/carrier.
