Flashing German ROM on UK moto g - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, as most of us in the UK are still waiting for the 444 update, and Germany already got the 4.4.2 that updates to 4.4.4, is there any harm flashing that ROM? My phone is the 1032 version

You can flash the XT1032 Stock ROM from any region of the world.

Why the rush for 4.4.4?

Its out dude. I made that mistake.. My signal was never the same.. Always cutting out, bad ping.. My carrier checked things over with this machine thing and said my phone didn't have to right radio in it and that they where cancelling my insurance and voiding my warranty

[Q] When is the KItKat update going to be released in Brazil?

So, i heard the 4.4.2 update is already rolling out on Europe and the US.
My Moto G arrived today, so i don't want to flash it and lose my 1 year warranty.
Does anyone know when is the OTA update going to show up in Brazil? (Since we are always left behind by manufacturers when it comes to android updates.)
I have the XT1032 model, Single-SIM, 8GB.
Sorry for the bad english.
I'm waiting too
=\
Hope that you don't forget what has promised, right motorola? --"
some sites are sayng that the main reason that the brasil updates delay is the the Dual-sim version of the moto g, that needs a specific version of kit-kat
aparently you can install the UK version ROM (only one that works with brasillian frequencies,, But only works Single SIM) if you really cant wait

US Firmware on XT1033

Hey guys ! I've heard we can convert our XT1033 into XT1032 moto G by flashing the UK firmware !
Out of curiosity i just wanna know ,that can we flash the US / global firmware in our XT1033 ?
The reason do to this is because the Indian XT1033 is full of bugs , & still haven't got a bug fix update while the US ver. is getting the 4.4.3 update
Please let me know if that's possible
Regards

AFAIK, the radio/baseband of the US firmware is incompatible with the XT1033's hardware. So it won't work.
Only the UK firmware works with its hardware.

[Q] Consumer Cellular XT1034 to Retail US Firmware

So I just purchased the 1st Gen G for an incredible price off Craigslist tonight and seeing as I'm not a card-carrying AARP member I would like your help in figuring out which Retail US firmware to flash.
Been reading [GUIDE] Moto G - Restore stock firmware and scouring the firmware downloads for Retail US XT1034 but am left scratching my head, especially in regards to the file names in the second firmware source link.
Would someone point me in the right direction?
Oh, and service will be provided by AT&T if that matters.
Also just to confirm: I don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash stock firmware?
Bonus: Any danger in flashing stock retail firmware on a carrier-branded device?
Don't want to brick this wonderfully cheap device.
Thanks XDA!:good:

Wanted to bump this as it got kicked off the main page...
Any help appreciated.

From what I've seen, you do need the unlocked bootloader. Just try it on the motorola site.

Incorrect, those firmware images are supposed to be flashed on locked devices by engineers before being sold. That is why some images are carrier specific. Also you will get a 'preflash validation' error if you have updated to 4.4.4 and then try to flash a 4.4.2 image.
@ZHXS, you can flash any XT1034 firmware you want without fear. Latest 4.4.4 images are posted in this thread: (actually look through thread)

There is currently no 4.4.4 Retail US XT1034 firmware image. You can flash Retail Canada for now.
my sister bought this device for my uncle from consumer cellular. it says xt1032 but in the battery it says xt1034. also the latest update is 4.4.4. how do i upgrade to lollipop?

[Q] [QUESTION] Moto G Retail Version

Hi guys.
I was using the Lollipop version 5.0.2, but I did downgrade to 4.4.4 KitKat
I could not install the Brazil Retail version, so I opted for the Asia Retail.
Is there any difference between them? (I'm live in Brazil)
thanks!
Wrong section to ask questions, perhaps different radio.

So far, the signal is stabilized, 3G operating normally. All right? Or I wanna try to install the Brazilian version?

Update for SM-P905 (baseband no: P905XXUANA7 build no: P905XXUANC3) ?

Hi guys,
Am I mistaken or is this the last samsung note pro in the known universe to receive an update to lollipop? I understand it's been a long wait for all note pro users. Does anyone here have an idea when this particular model SM-P905 (baseband no: P905XXUANA7 build no: P905XXUANC3) will receive an update?

why wouldn't you use odin ?!

Unless I've missed something, the firmware for my specific model isn't available from sammobile, so I can't use odin to update.

I guess you don't have to flash a specific firmware since you have the international 905 model !!
Mine was from italy and i flashed UAE firmware without problems !!

Oh. I feel so newb (And I'm a tech guy...awkward....lol). Mine is running stock kitkat (4.4.2). I rooted it a while back, but so far, have not flashed it with any rom. Correct me if I'm wrong - international version means that all the LTE/radio bands are unlocked? I can't flash it with Deodex.Root.Xposed, as I'm not running stock lollipop. Which rom did u flash yours with?
Chris
You should be able to use Odin to flash any of the released 905 version lollipop updates from sammonbile. You will lose your root however.

Thanks for the link, however, I live in Australia, so according to sammobile, there's no lollipop firmware for this country:

Since your going to flash it yourself just choose any region (pick one thats on 5.1.1) and flash that. Then just change the language and time zone settings during set up and you should be good to go. Many US customers with the 905 used this method when other countries were getting the original 5.0.1 update before them. Worked fine.

Thanks for the info. Cool. I'll keep an eye out for 5.1.1. If I'm not mistaken, most are 5.0.2 at the moment, except AT&T.
