Here is the froyo launcher2.apk from the G2 system dump. You must be rooted and uninstall stock launcher2 first via root explorer or titanium backup. I also suggest making a backup first. It runs smooth on my incredible. 7 home screens, 3D app drawer, etc. I figured i would make it easier for anyone who wants it. Just download then place on your SD Card and install. You do need to allow installation of apps from unknown sources in application settings first.
ONLY WORKS WITH AOSP ROMS

Its a really nice launcher but the phone icon says "Application not installed" and I found no way to fix that. Its useless to me without being able to access my phone
I'm sorry I don't know. It works perfect for me on cyanogenmod 6 and Ruby and ultimate Droid. I don't know what to tell you

No need to be sorry. My phone is back to stock 2.2. I'm waiting for a replacement cause I'm having major issues. I'm sure that's why it's not working. Thanks dude
I tried to use this on CM 6.0.2 and after I download it says I already have it installed. I really just want the 3D app drawer. Any idea?

you need to long press the phone icon on the bar and when the menu pops up select "change shortcut" then select application and then click on phone and you should be good to go hope this helps you.
It's good tool. But I have only G7, hope yours can work correctly on my phone!
Thank you for sharing.
I've been looking forever for a stock froyo looking launcher that's more like the Nexus One. ADW is ok but I don't like the dock icons. The G2 launcher is perfect but I can't get the phone button to work on my Droid Incredible OTA 2.2 (Rooted). I've read through the post but havent seen any solution Long pressing on the phone button and changing the short cut doesn't work at all (read that in another post) SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I really like this launcher
Hey guys sorry for not replying sooner. Apparently this only works with AOSP roms (i.e. cyanogenmod, ruby, shadowrom) I'm updating the OP right now.

Thanks!
Idk where to post this question but I'ma ask here. Can I uninstall the default ADW that comes with the rom and use ADW EX
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
You can with titanium backup it might cause problems so back it up first
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I have read this before in another thread. Are you familiar with adb? you should be able to pull it off the phone. But be sure to have adwex installed first. Or you'll have fun trying to launch something! not sure but deleting it with a root explorer may work too.
Chime I in anyone if you have another way.

I can do it with the app "uninstaller for root". I just wanna know if its gonna make everything mess up. I already installed adw ex and am using it. But I was curious if this'll work cause I don't rly need the reg adw if I have ex.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
It worked. I used uninstaller for root and just applied a diff launcher for default before I did it and it took it right off.

There is no dependency here. I've been removing ADW from the update zip and replacing it with the EX version pre-flash since alpha 7.

That's great then. Cause I felt like there was no point of having the free adw version n using it when I had a paid version and wasn't using it lol.

You don't have to remove one to use another. You could have 10 installed and just pick 1 to use at any given time.
on cyanogenmod official wiki there is a page listing all the software that can be safely removed and how to remove. just go on the official wiki and search for a page named barebones
(i'm sorry i'm not allowed yet to post the link because i'm a new forum user)

ADW-Ex UI freeze
Is anyone experiencing random frezzes on ADW Ex usage running on Samsung GSII X T989?
Does anyone know if using a certain custom launcher can affect APN ? Because im using EB Rom 2.3.5 v2.0 , morfic kernel came stock with this rom, mixer theme. If i use go launcher ex no problem at all. But if i use ics launcher and reboot then i lost my apn , i have to try hard reboot few times then apn works. With go launcher ex it doesn't matter what i do to the phone , the apn stays no matter what. Thanks in advance to whoever gives there time answering my dumb questions.

Seems to me like you answered your own question within the question. Sort of like the movie 'Being John Malkovich."
I gues i ask the wrong question. How about , is it possible for a launcher to cause issue with apn connection ? I just thought there is no interaction between this app or program , but then again im still a noob.
Edit: Sorry im asking the same Q but shorter and to the point.

Again, you confirmed yourself the answer to this. You said one launcher causes problems. The other launcher doesn't. Ergo, the launcher is most likely causing your problems. The launcher interacts with everything.

I doubt it's the launcher
EB2.3.5 is CM7 based; CM7 has apn issues.
If you lose apn upon a reboot you have to hard reboot to bring it back. Hold volune up + power until the phone reboots.
Just want to thank for the info guys . Uninstall ics launcher and back to normal.

Just installed SKY ICS build 4.2E with update 12.5. Install was quick and painless. My question is, I want to change the lockscreen. Do I use one of the lock screen MODS and if so, how do I install it. Any help would be appreciated.
What do you mean? Lock screen wallpaper or the lock screen ui?
It should be easily done with cwm. Download zip and flash. Follow instructions in the thread.

You download the zip of whichever lockscreen you want and flash it in CWM, just like you did the update, but no wiping or cache clearing is necessary.

Anyone know a way to view the lockscreens in SKY ICS before dowloading them.

Make your nandroid backup then try the mod of your choice. If you don't like it return to your backup or flash a different mod. There may be some pics in one of seanz earlier threads.

Search the Sky ICS thread, someone posted pictures of them there. If you need to see battery mods, I posted pictures of all of them in that thread also. just search the name of the battery mod you're looking for.
Why not try widget locker? It's an awesome app and you can change your lockscreen to a lot of different options and it's VERY customizable?

We've been waiting for the 4.2 update , and now they did arrived. When tf300 has it's update, there is a seeing called launcher which can switch through the nexus-like launcher and the original. But when the update came to our infinity, it disappeared.
Is there ways to get back this feature?
(Anyone want it back?)

If you are running stock, I would say no. However sdbags I think may try to integrate into Cromi 4.0 but we will see. He has to get it running first and then tweak it. I assume ASUS will release another update in a month or so that will fix many bugs. ASUS though probably had reason not to include that, and could possibly be released in next update.

I am running stock with root and still locked. I took the JB4.2 launcher out of the odex cromi rom I downloaded and pushed it in system/apps. Delete the old launcher first. You can do this with Titanium backup and make a backup of the old launcher too!

no root needed
I have a easy method, and you don't need root even.
1. Get a 3rd party launcher. I used adw
2. Add a new custom shortcut
3. Select activity.
4. Scroll down to settings and expand it
5. Scroll down until you see one that says switch launcher
6. Click on the new shortcut. And then it will bring you to the switch launcher setting!
7. It will ask for a restart and thats it.
I don't know why Asus hid this feature from us infinity users, but at least there is way around

Thanks for the tip.
Tried it and really like it. Feels less obtrusive compared to the standard launcher.
Also been having a few launcher crashes so hopefully this may remedy this.
Not noticed any lad or slow down yet, sees the same as the standard launcher in terms of speed. Noticed that the ADW launcher however made the whole thing much much speedier and responsive.
Anyone use a launcher regularly or the fact it's running over the standard launcher uses more battery etc?
