Step 7: Reboot phone
WARNINGS & DISCLAIMERS
Proceed with caution and at your own risk - I am not responsible if your phone self destructs, gets bricked, or melts.
Please keep in mind that both these methods will yield ROOT only - as of know there is no way to unlock bootloader on AT&T
Rooting and any other modifications to your phone will void your warranty - do not root if you do not know what you are doing.
Rooted devices will not be able to receive OTA updates. You may have to unroot and restore stock in order to accept updates.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ:
Q. Why do I need to be rooted to do this?
A. Because you will need access to the root and system folders.
Q. Why De-bloat my phone?
A. The manufacturer and the carrier install a bunch of branded apps that take up space and resources. By uninstalling these apps, you have less background activity, less space used and more resources to use for the apps you do want.
Q. Can I use Titanium Backup to Freeze these apps?
A. Freezing these apps will work, however freezing these apps does not free the space used by these apps.

This is great. Thank you very much for the list. One question through. Would you be able to add descriptions to some of these apk names? I would prefer to know what I am removing. Like Gnss or LADDM, etc..
Thanks

If I remember correctly, LADDM is something to do with CarrierIQ. I think you shouldn't touch it on any LG AT&T ROM.

I've renamed LADDM after also stopping the related CarrierIQ services within Android System. I've seen no adverse effects.

There is no issues with removing LADDM.apk - it is CarrierIQ. It will not allow CarrierIQ to work - if you'd like you can also follow the removing CarrierIQ instructions and remove the lib files and disable everything in android tuner to completly get rid of everything. Either way - no adverse reaction to removing it... in fact its better to have one less thing stalking and tracking everything you do with your phone.

Try clicking on Mount R/W and it should ask for root permission.... Give permission and proceed... Also check to make sure you have SuperSU installed... If not installed then download from playstore, run, and reboot... Then try again

Thanks for putting up this how-to. I went ahead and followed the instructions to the "T", and then rebooted. I am a little confused as to why some apps still showed up in my app draw even though they were properly cut and moved to the new folder? I went ahead a tried clearing data for "home" to see if they would show when reloaded, however they still appeared. There were about 5-6 apps including twitter, ISIS, Lookout, and a few more than I forgot the names. I went ahead and manually removed them from the app draw, however I was wondering why they didn't disappear like the others did??
Thanks for your help!

Its probably because you had already updated these apps through the playstore... Just go to playstore and you should be able to uninstall them like any other app.

[HOW TO] Clean up system/app

On the german "android-hilfe"-forum the users managed to delete the default apps from the system/app folder. I'm going to translate it to english and post it here. Original thread: android-hilfe.de
All changes are done at own risk. I'm not responsible for a bricked phone. If you don't know what you do, stop reading here.
First of all you need to root your mobile: [HOW TO] Root Motorola Defy.
If you rooted with z4root: you need the androidSDK to go on with the next steps. So have a look at the link above and get the tools and information need to go ahead.
After that you need to:
1. type in the command line on your PC
Code:
adb shell
2. now you need to get super user rights:
Code:
su
3. you need to remount the system partition
Code:
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
4. change to the /system/app directory and you can now rename/delete all files in there
I hope you make a copy of this folder, so you can always revert back to factory default. A hardreset doesn't restaure the deletet apps, so be carefull. Also you need to check on your own IF you can really delete a app or not. I don't know what features you use.
Successfull deletet apps:
- amazon
- adservice
- arcphotoworkshop
- arcvideoeditorlite
- bluremail
- blursnmessagingengine
- blurupdater
- cardock
- contactsunconnected
- es musica
- fota
- friendfeed
- hilfe center
- hiphop official
- kpt (kodak perfect touch)
- homesyncwizard
- livewallpapers
- livewallpaperspicker
- magicsmokewallpaper
- messageswidget
- newswidget
- protips (tips für den startbildschirm)
- quickcontactwidget
- quickoffice
- revolvertv
- socialmessaging
- sprachwahl
- statuswidget
- stk (sim-tool-kit)
- toggle widgets
- truecountry

It will be great!
is it posible to replace any of the "blured" apps?
Code:
BlurAlarmClock - AlarmClock (whats special with blured AlarmClock?)
BlurCalendar - Calendar
BlurContacts - Contacts (I only want google contacts and groups)
BlurEmail - Email (what's the difference between default?)
BlurHome - I Assume this is MotoBlur launcher (Wild Guess; it's really bad idea to remove this)
BlurPhone - Dialer?
is it posible to stop services from starting?
I have this services started, I have removed ALL widgets on ALL motoblur-homescreens and rebooted my phone and using ZeamLauncher. Still I have a few services started that I don't like to have started.
FeedReciverService - Social networking (com.motorola.blur.friendfeed)
WeatherService - Weather (com.motorola.blur.home.other)
Click to collapse
Considering the name of the services I don't use them. I have no Social Networking stuff on my phone and no weather widget.
When and where do services start? if apps can start services when needed (I assume they can) is it posible to track down which services an app starts?
Ok, a couple of noob-ish questions here...

I've done this, though not through the method listed in the thread that's linked-to.
I used z4root, which was significantly simpler but I'm wondering if it's left me poorer equipped to do what comes next.

Ok, so now we seem to have jumped forward a bit.
I assume by command line we're doing this on a PC, right?
If so, is there a particular mode I should select when connecting the handset?
And one last one - you list 'adservice' as something that's safe to remove, does what I suspect and kill off adverts on the handset?

If you used the rooting method I've linked to, there wouldn't be a jump
Anyway you are right, its the command line from the PC. But you need the androiSDK for this commands. The adb.exe can be found in the tools subfolder. Go to the rooting method I've linked to and just get the infos missing here.
I don'T think that adservice will kill ALL your ad's on your phone. Those are included IN the games or apps. Have a look at adfree on the marked. This will work on your rooted phone.
Thanks for your respond...I've changed the first post a little bit.

U did the remount? If not, follow all steps again. If you tried to access /system/app directly from you phone with a filemanager: it won't work until you use rootexplorer (payware).
You can use Titanium backup too (free)
Amazing how responsive the phone becomes after removing some of the bloat.
Interesting Topic, is this about deblurring or are there any more Motoblur Tasks running in the Background after the process?
I really want to get rid of Motoblur, (in my opinion it is just useless Crap running in the Background and collecting data) but I would still like to have my Android Updates. Is there any way to do this?
For you guys who have been de-bluring your phones which apps have you removed? It would be interesting to know which apps that are safe to remove and which that are not or have dependencies to other blur-apps. Thanks in advance!
Probably there's only a try and error you can do. I'e posted a list of apk's which are save to remove without going into bootloops. But there's no garuntee that this meets ALL your whishes of services to remove or to stay.
I think that you can give jboogie a try. Also you can try to make a nandroid backup befor starting to remove things. A titanium backup won't help, as it won't backup your system APKs. Don't rely on this.
If you miss a APK (cause you deleted it to fast) feel free to ask, I copied mine all to my SD Card.
Titanium backup will back up the data (edit: not apps) to your SD card and won't restore them to the system/app folder. (so be warned)
Personally I went for:
ESMusica (Didn't notice any difference)
HipHopOfficial (Didn't notice any difference)
TrueCountry (Didn't nitice any difference)
Social Networking 2.1 update 1 (big speed boost)
Social Status 2.1 update 1 (big speed boost)
Social Messaging service update 1 (big speed boost)
Social Messaging update 1 (big speed boost)
AmazonMP3 (nice speed boost)
News 2.1 update 1 (nice speed boost)
Weather 2.1 update 1 (nice speed boost)
CarDock 1.0 (Didn't notice any difference)
Sticky note 2.1 update 1 (Didn't notice much difference)
Browser Message 2.0.2 (Didn't notice much difference)
Connected Music player (nice speed boost) - Spotify + powerAMP user
At this stage the phone was running lag free, so I don't bother with anything else. (esp with custom ROMS on the horizon back then )
Sounds very interesting.
Would be really great if someone could put together a real Noob Tutorial.
I am not familiar with ADB
Here's what I renamed. I just changed the .apk file extension to .fix (just something easy to remember if I want to do a search and change them back)
AdService
ArcPhotoworkshop
ArcVideoEditorLite
blur-services
BlurDemo
BlurEmail
BlurEmailEngine
BlurSNMessagingEngine
ClockWidget
FriendFeed
NewsWidget
SocialMessaging
SocialShare
StatusWidget
VisualVoicemail
WeatherWidget
I have not experienced any problems yet. If I do I'll post what I find.
can i get some help here? how exactly do you change to /system/app? is it as simple as typing "/system/app"? and then what happens does ADB list all the files in there or is there another command you ahve to use?

This app Vending.apk is a Google Play Store, modded version. It remove countrys restrictions for apps.

Sorry to say that but it is not working for me
I replaced the file using es explorer
Changed permissions

sorry for not being clear
I know this is the google play store app, what i meant to say is that the phone installs another version after using this one (it installed the same version 3.5.16 i don't know why) so whenever i use this mod the phone automatically remove it and install an unmodded version again ... that's one thing
the other thing is that even when i was running this modded version i could not access apps from other markets i can only access egypt/middle east market
I tried it but it seems it's not working. I can't see the apps forbidden in my country. I followed the instructions but it's a no go!
I tried even uninstalling the stock play using TB and then installing this version yet failed to show me blocked applications also
I would like to know who is the creator of this modified to get in with to try and help debug the not working issue
I guess the op is not him

[APP] Google Now APK/ZIP for ICS [ARMv7]

Requirements:
Follow the simple instructions here.
You must be on Ice Cream Sandwich.
You MUST be rooted
You must be on a deodexed ROM. If you aren't sure, ask your chef.
You should be running a custom recovery like ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM) or Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP). I use CWM, so this guide is based on that.
Your device must be using ARMv6 or v7 CPU architecture. If you aren't sure what that is, check this thread.
You must have a file explorer that has root permissions. I use ES File Explorer, so this guide is based on that.
You need at least 60MB of system space for the full offline installation. (30MB for online only version) If you don't know how to check, simply download Titanium Backup from the market. It tells you right on the main screen.
ARMv7 INSTRUCTIONS:
Download whichever file you want and flash it in recovery.
File descriptions:
Online only zip is for those of you who need to save /system space. It removes the offline voice files, so that offline voice dictation does not work. You must always have some sort of data connection for this type of zip.
Offline/Online zip is for those with no /system space restrictions. It contains the full Google Now package with offline voice dictation.
APK only is for those who have already flashed a zip. You may simply push the new apk to /system/app (overwrite or remove the previous version), set permissions to rw-r-r (0644), and reboot to enjoy the latest version of Google Now. DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL THE APK BY ITSELF.
If you aren't sure which one to use, or if this is too much information or is otherwise overwhelming for you, just flash the M7 version - Offline/Online, since it's the latest. Be sure to scroll down a bit and read about it, though.
Before doing anything, you need to make sure you have at least 60MB of free space on your /system partition for Offline/Online files and 30MB of free /system space for Online Only files.
Flashable Zips:
M7 - mikeyxda's version 7. This version improves on M6 by tweaking notifications to be more accurate and frequent. This version may use more battery. If you are using a Sense ROM, see the troubleshooting below for a hack to improve Google Now performance and battery efficiency.
Online/Offline via Mediafire - 36.48MB /Hotfile mirror
Online Only via Mediafire - 14.06MB /Hotfile mirror
M7-Velvet.apk Only
M6 - Mikeyxda's version 6. This version has improved on the previous one by fixing the double take problem, typed searches are working, auto launch is fixed, as well as the following fixes from the previous version: Red mic with cards showing with no refresh needed, no FCs, offline dictation, and no stretched words. These zips all use zipalligned apks.
Offline/Online via Mediafire - 36.43MB /Hotfile mirror
Online only via Mediafire - 14.01MB /Hotfile mirror

R3 - "Nearly there" version by ReekoTubbs. This version has the Red mic with cards showing with no refresh needed, no double take, no FCs, offline dictation, auto-launch, no blank screen, and no stretched words. These zips all use zipalligned apks.
Offline/Online via Mediafire - 36.48MB /Hotfile mirror
Online only via Mediafire - 14.07MB/Hotfile mirror

How to:
Move the file you picked to the root of your SD card. Don't put it in any folder. This just makes it easier to find.
Reboot your device into recovery. See your device's specific instructions on how to do this if you are not sure. Google it for a faster answer.
In CWM, navigate to "Install zip from SD" and select that.
Next, highlight "Choose zip from SD card" and select it.
Scroll down to the Google Now zip you loaded onto your SD card, then select it.
Scroll down and select the option that says "Yes - Install Google Now....zip"
Once it has flashed, go back to the main CWM menu and select "Reboot system now".
Double Checking:
Some Recoveries do not do a good job of retaining the permissions being set by the zips. If you aren't using CWM or TWRP, then please follow these steps to ensure that everything is as it should be.
Let the ROM boot all the way, then fire up ES File Explorer (or whichever one you feel like using). We need to make sure a few permissions stuck (just in case).
If you haven't used ES File Explorer before, open it, then hit menu.
Tap settings, then scroll all the way down.
Check the box that says "Up to Root" (pic).
Then check the box that says "Root Explorer"
Allow root access when the dialogue box for Superuser pops up.
After that, check off "Mount file system", then back out of the menu. (pic)
Navigate to /system/usr/srec/ and find two folders named "config" and "en-US"
Tap and hold on the "config" folder icon to bring up the options menu, then scroll down to Properties.
Tap properties, then tap change and see if the check boxes match this picture.
If it matches, leave it alone and head back to your home screen to enjoy using Google Now! If it doesn't match, change it so it does.
Do the same thing for the "en-US" folder.
Go into the settings menu for Google Now and set it up for your Google account and various other settings.
Now What?
So, you flashed Google Now. You're wondering what you can do with it, right? Well, thankfully, Killer-B has a handy little guide to get you up to speed on all the cool stuff Google Now can do as well as how to do it!
Commands & Now Cards For Google Now!!! Now Video, and custom widget
At this point, I'd suggest looking through your contact list for people with unusual, or difficult to pronounce names. Go into their contact card, and add in a nickname for them of their phonetically spelled name. Google Now has trouble parsing these unusual names, and their isn't a way to make it learn. Spelling the names like they sound allows you to send texts and place calls via Google Now without any voice issues.
Open up the red mic screen and "Do a barrel roll."
Troubleshooting:
If you are having an issue with Google Now, please refer to the thread originally created by cajunflavoredbob here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30809177&postcount=1
The red mic screen won't display.
To fix this, press the normal mic within the Google Now app. While it is listening (after it beeps), press menu > refresh. Now you're at the red mic.
Google Now Force Closes.
Make sure you have enough space on your /system partition before installing this. You need at least 60MB free for the Offline versions and 30MB free for the Online versions.

Oh and just to explain, the old gmail allows stuff based on signature, so as this apk is resigned it will not be allowed. The new gmail marks it as dangerous and will create a notification for you to allow permission, or the patched one marks it as normal and allows it silently.

My phone gets worse battery life or uses more data.
Read this post by Racer Of All and follow the directions using apktool. This is for advanced users running a Sense ROM only.
Sports cards aren't showing up.
It won't add teams that aren't in season. American football is currently in preseason. Baseball, however, works perfectly fine.
I want Google Now in another language than US English.
From the Google Now home screen with the cards, tap Menu, then Settings. Tap Voice, then Language and select the language you want recognized. The text of Google Now in searches and regular cards should mirror that of your system language.
My Galaxy SIII just received the new update which blocks local search, and Google Now won't work properly.

All files are on the device with the correct permissions except because of the different search apk (GoogleQuickSearchBox_USA.apk) the method mentioned in the OP won't work until you delete the _USA part of the file and then reboot into recovery and reflash following the OP instructions.

I can't open any search links!
This is a quirk in the later apks. You may need to hit the little magnifying glass icon next to the search link. This will allow you to open those links properly.
My phone exploded.

Want to go back to stock?
If, for some reason, you want to remove Google Now and return to how you were before, flash the following zip. It removes all Google Now files, and returns the original Google Search app and voice files, as well as sets permissions for the Search app. Make sure to uninstall talkback and then reinstall it once you reboot to get voice search working again.
Google Now to Google Search via Mediafire- 629.35KB /Hotfile mirror

Ah, that means you already have the old Google Search on your phone (I ran into that too)- uninstall it or navigate to System/App and rename GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk in GoogleQuickSearchBox.bak and install the downloaded APK again

I would suggest making a Nandroid backup then try the zip and flash in CWM (clear cache and davlik - reboot will take longer the first time)
OR
Using Root Explorer
Navigate to System/app rename GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk to whatever you want to
Drag/Drop Velvet-theos0o-3.apk in System/app and rename it to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
Change permissions to rw-, r--, r-- and reboot (do NOT try and install the APK)
- it should definitely work then
When you restart - go to Manage Apps, find Google Search then clear data and cache (should clear up the network error)

[GUIDE] Enable Download Booster On Verizon - DETAIL INSTRUCTIONS

I basically took the instructions from XDA member "chronicaust" and made them simple with 1 single download link for the service files, and links to all apps needed. People were having trouble understanding the process in the original thread. So I hope this simplifies it and makes it clear for any new people. All I did was reorganize this process and hopefully make it easier for most people. The original instructions were confusing for me... I don't take credit for developing this at all!
Confirmed working on Verizon Retail Edition
DOWNLOAD THESE:
1. ES File Explorer - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
- Make sure to enable root by going to the little icon (globe with phone on it) in upper left corner > Tools > Root Explorer > On
2. Download the modified services.odex and services.jar from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qs6y60vb6392um2/vz_db_services_files.zip
ONCE YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED THE ABOVE:
1. Copy both modified services.odex and services.jar to your phone if you downloaded them to your computer (if you downloaded them to your phone then unzip and move to next step)
2. Copy or move the modified services.odex and services.jar to the /system folder in the root directory of the phone using ES File Explorer
3. Fix permissions on both files to rw-r-r (3 checks in first column, first check in second, rest blank)
- To fix permissions, longpress on the file and it will be checked off, then click in lower right corner: More > Properties > Change (next to permissions)
4. Copy services.JAR from the system root folder to the /system/framework folder, select overwrite.
5. Copy services.ODEX from the system root folder to the /system/framework folder, select overwrite.
6. Your phone should pause for 10-15seconds and reboot. If it doesn't reboot automatically then reboot manually.

Thank YOU!! I couldn't figure out with the other thread, this was simple and easy to follow, just a suggestion, when you mention root system folder, it would probably make it less confusing for others if you mention that it's not the actual folder called "root" under system.
Well not sure what I did wrong. Copied over the the two files into the framework folder. The phone froze and rebooted as expected. It then said optimizing about 400 apps. After that finished it just kept saying "Unfortunately, Verizon Login has stopped.", "NFC Service", "com.android.phone", "Google search", "Pica something..." and several others in an endless loop. :/
EDIT: Downloading the stock Verizon tar... What a pitty. I cannot access anything.

I'm not sure why so many people are obsessed with enabling this feature. People like me who don't have unlimited data don't care to piss it away with "boosting" my download speeds. Plus, I don't really download anything worth needing it anyways but all the power to the rest of you

I followed the steps and after it updated apps. My Wifi Tether notification icon has changed. It shows the USB one instead of the usual radio signal icon. and when I click on the notification, it takes me to the USB and Bluetooth tether screen. Whereas before, it took me right to the WIFI Tether screen.
When I backed up the files to change them back, I realized that I backed up the wrong files.
Stupid me.
Does anyone have the stock JAR and ODEX files? I'd rather have the convenience of tether than download booster.
Thanks in advance.

I followed all the way up to replacing services.jar and when I do replace it, it says unfortunately (a bunch of apps) has stopped. It causes me to have to do a battery pull, and when I do power it back on, it gets stuck on the Verizon logo screen. I've tried it a few times with both root explorer, efs file explorer, and both files at the same time/services.jar first. Every time I try, I have to restore my rom using safestrap. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Edit: I tried flashing the zip in the main thread and it's working so far without any hiccups.
@waleed300
Can you put a disclaimer on the OP that states that enabling this (if you have native hotspot enabled) will mess with your WiFi Hotspot toggle since it replaces the services.jar? Hotspot still works, but the running notification is incorrect. Just a thought....

If you want to fix it, you have to replace your services.jar with the stock one (this is how I fixed it with the help of Versatile1). And I had a question, when your mobile hotspot running notification was the correct one, clicking the running notification took you to the hotspot options but did long pressing the quicksetting still take you to the USB tether options? Was just wondering.
Download Booster not using LTE?
So I've had Download Booster enabled for a little while after following this post. I've noticed a couple of things:
1. When downloading large files, DB doesn't always appear and when it does appear, LTE is never used.
2. During the download, DB disappears.
I wasn't sure what the reason was for the odd behavior but was curious to see if anybody else has noticed it.
I would make a donation for a 1-click apk solution like towelroot.

Att LG G3 Carrier IQ Removal Guide

Well I hate carrier IQ and just today I finally got it to 0 using Voodoo Carrier IQ Detector. I got some of it right away using the old G2 method, but I still was not clean so I spent a couple days poking around. Finally I found LADDM.apk.
You need ROOT, this is for the Att version.
Apps:
Android Tuner
Root Explorer (I think Android Tuner has a root exploer too)
More details from adiliyo (Thanks)
ok, for people who are new to this, here is how i did it
download android tuner
click on application manager
click / pivot to apps tab
click the button on the bottom that says user and it will change to system
longpress on android system
click open
click details
pivot to all the tabs and uncheck anything with carrier iq in it
remove lib files
uninstall apk mentioned
presto!
Using Android Tuner go to Apps then Android System. Go through and uncheck all Carrier IQ listings.
Then find LADDM.apk and delete it (Backup first is advised). This is a nasty app, all carrier IQ as far as I can tell and check out the permissions before you delete it, it really looks at how you use your phone.
I also went into System/lib and backed up then deleted the 2 carrier IQ files in there.
Reboot and then run Voodoo Carrier IQ Detector!
Here is my log:

I also went into System/lib and backed up then deleted the 2 carrier IQ files in there.
Reboot and then run Voodoo Carrier IQ Detector!
Here is my log:

Never used Android Tuner - could you give a more perceise step by step? I have no idea where you are talking about Apps then Android System
could you list the names of the files you unchecked from android tuner as well as in system/lib ?
i haven't been able to find any suspicious files on mine aside from the apk which i uninstalled (thanks!)
EDIT:
ok, i found the libs unsing the voodoo iq detector, everything else looks clean though, all i did was delete the apk...
i only show the libs (which i will delete now) and the boot detection agent that you have still showing as well, so i'm clean?
EDIT 2: as after removing the two iq libs, i get "android system has stopped" and it just looks time for adb
to be clear i had removed "libiq_client.so" and "libiq_service.so" from /system/lib
replacing them got rid of the crash. what am i missing?

if you have root explorer and didn't just delete them (i had moved them to back them up) you can slowly just copy them back (keep pushing ok and clicking on stuff before the error comes up again)
that's what i ended up doing since adb didn't want to see my phone on this computer. took like 10 minutes though...still looking for the files to remove so it works!
EDIT: added the files in case anyone deleted them and needs them
EDIT ok luckilyI saved them to dropbox - took a lot of quick finger movements but got them exported backa nd copied back into Sys Lib
So for anyone wanting to try this, don't just root explorer delete - just an FYI lol
ok, for people who are new to this, here is how i did it
download android tuner
click on application manager
click / pivot to apps tab
click the button on the bottom that says user and it will change to system
longpress on android system
click open
click details
pivot to all the tabs and uncheck anything with carrier iq in it
remove lib files
uninstall apk mentioned
presto!

Thank you so much for posting these. I was a dolt and forgot to save a backup copy and just simply renamed the files.

no problem! retyping with that error screen would have been a 3 hour process

Thanks for the idea! Downloaded the copy of the files in the post above to my work PC, saved them to Dropbox, then spent about 10 minutes furiously tapping on my screen to go to Dropbox app, export the files to the phone, open Root Explorer, select both files, navigate to the \system\lib folder, and paste. As soon as the paste completed, the errors stopped. I think I'll wait until I get home to tinker with this some more....that was a stressful hour trying to figure out how to fix this.

Nailed it thanks! I am thinking they need to be unchecked before you remove the system/lib files. Sorry that some had issues with that. I didnt have any problems that way.

yes, after unchecking it's all fine to remove the libs (probably because system is no longer trying to access the libs!)

l got boot loop and I'm pretty sure I unchecked first. I'm on Att ... same thing happened on a s5 before. I thought it was just the s5, but apparently g3 rigged to crash too without ciq. I deleted on my g2 last year and no problem... Att got smart. Trying to kdz flash as we speak.

My guess is you missed something, I'm running with no issues after removing the libs. Did you go through all the tabs in system to get everything? I think there's like 5 or so items to uncheck.

Here I posted screen shots of everything I've frozen along with everything I've unchecked. This should help you out a bit... Also do it in the following order.
1. Freeze laddm.apk
2. Uncheck all boxes with android tuner
3. Rename lib files to .bak extension

So I'm coming from an iPhone4 and I followed the steps and did all this. Except I just renamed the lib files to .bak but they're still showing up when I run the carrier iq checker. Do I HAVE to delete them? I figured renaming would do the trick just fine...
