Titanium backup restore folders - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys
I don't know if this issue has been already solved or not but I checked some threads and did not find an answer.
I had a stock ROM (4.2) and wanted to go for a kitkat version. I backed up with titanium backup. data was backed in external SD.
When I installed the new ROM, TB did not find any backup as it searched only in the internal memory not the SD. I said whatever, I had a fresh start in the games and used the other apps as if they were never used before.
Now I found an improved ROM and installed it. the backup obviously was made in the internal memory but the problem is that the new ROM looks for SD card.
I am kind of confused. I restored my old data, which are now obsolete for me as I moved on since the first ROM upgrade.
Now I want to recover my recent data which is in the internal memory and not the SD.
I tried changing the backup folder from preferences but it did not solve the issue.
Hope you can help, it would be much appreciated.

Issues with Titanium Backup

I have taken a backup of all my apps and data on Revolver ROM using TB, saved it on my MicroSD. Flashed Megatron , installed TB and tried restoring the apps but TB still doesn't pick them up.
I did point to the right backup folder in Preferences, but still to no avail. Flashed back Revolver and tried restoring again, but same issues. Copied the TB backup folder from the MicroSD to the TF internal SD, changed the backup folder location again in Preferences, but still TB doesn't pick up the apps and restore them.
Anyone else facing the same issues ? Need help here. Thanks
Maybe the rom you were coming from stored the apks differently like odexed or some nonsense and now megatron can't see them? Idk I'd wish I could help... bumb to find the answer

Restoring Apps with TiBu

So, I've done this plenty of times: back up apps on Titanium, wipe, flash a new rom and restore just apps. For some reason, TiBu is not bringing up the apps I backed to my external SD in my new rom on the S3. All configurations for restore are at "0", but I can navigate to my external SD on rootexplorer and see the back up I made. Any clues?
I don't believe backups have to be on internal SD, but could somebody correct me if I'm wrong and offer some solution, if possible.

If you've gone from a stock ROM to an asop ROM our the other way around then you need top go into TiBu's preferences and change the backup directory. The different ROM bases call the SD cards by different names.

Yea, so confusing, especially coming from the thunderbolt where everything is off the external SD...I had to end up moving the backups to the internal SD, which is fine.
Thanks for the reply man.

Titanium Backup - Can't restore apps+data after flash

Hi guys, I recently just flashed CM 12.1 w/ Android 5.1.1 on my Zenfone 2.
Before doing that, I backed up my apps+data using Titanium Backup. After flashing, I transferred back the Titanium Backup folder in the internal storage where it originally was. I then re-installed Titanium Backup. Unfortunately, there's 0 apps that can be restored according to Titanium Backup. I even checked the Storage location and it even showed my backups.
Help ASAP. TIA
Install the apps before backup. It might work.

Nevermind, just found out that my backups were corrupted. Anyways, is there anyway to restore the data of the apps instead? I dont mind re-downloading the apps again as long as I can get my data back
In the titanium backup.
One off the two zips will have you apk inside. Just open the zip and install the apk

Hi there...how did you solve the problem?
I also have the same problem...I backed everything up then flashed cyanogenmod Marshmallow 6.0.1 then after flash copied all the backup folder back to internal memory so it can be seen by Titanium backup app and still doesn't work...it doesn't see anything...although it sees the location and the files under titanium backup/preferences/Backup Settings...Backup Folder Location..but in the app I cannot see any of the apps I backed up...how can I solve the problem..please help me
i think titanium needs to be updated to the latest version. the older version somehow doesn't work and don't see the backups properly (on my stock z3c pre rooted rom). after I installed the latest version, it worked like a charm
WARNING: Titanium doesn't backup the media folder for Whatsapp nor Wechat. backup the media that you want manually before flashing. the chatlogs are backed up properly

Hi Everyone
Sorry for digging up an old topic but I have a very similar situation and almost got gray hair already
Did anyone found a solution to the issue from opening post ?
Here's what I have done (and already regret it
- I was on stock 5.1.1 android for xperia z1 compact D5503
- I have installed Kingroot to remove some bloatware applications through titanium backup.
- Then I have made a backup of all applications of my interest (sms/mms, k9-mail etc.) and copied that to a folder on external sd card.
- Then I came over idea of Pre-rooted stock roms. Performed that (downgrade to 4.4.4, root, dual recovery, instal pre-rooted rom from zip).
- Installed TiBackup, copied all backups from sd to internal memory.
- Opened TiBackup - mind blown - no apps with backups.. In Preferences - Folder backups are shown.
Any ideas? Corrupted backups? That would make me very sad
Any help much appreciated.

OK,
I have solved the riddle. So easy and obvious that I didn't notice.
When I was doing all the stuff from the post above I was using sd card reader.
So to be on the safe side - i have copied all SD card content to win10 PC.
Then when I thought I was ready - copied all to 1 folder "Stuff" and then to SD card.
What I have missed was that during that process file extensions were changed. So all *.properties were now *.properties.txt and all *.bzip were *.bzip.zip and so on.
So my problem is solved. Perhaps someone else could use it too.
Best regards

thanks a lot .. that solve my problem
Yeh, SD card to the rescue!

TB No Longer Working

Hello all!
I recently decided to wipe everything (including internal storage) just to have a clean start. Everything on my SD card remained unchanged, including Titanium Backup files.
After a fresh load of a ROM that previously had no issues, Titanium Backup no longer sees my files. I moved them to the internal memory as well, but no luck. When I change the folder location, TB sees the files, but no backups appear in the list.
I don't know what happened but I cannot restore any of my backups at this time.
What have I tried so far:
Wiping data of TB
Reinstalling TB
Reinstalling fresh ROM again
None of these items have helped at all. I do not believe it is the ROM as TB worked on this ROM previously (BrokenOS).
I think this is a folder or TB problem.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Also, my apologies if I left out any crucial details.
Kevin
Bump?
What directory do you have set for TITANIUM to save backups to? To check .... Go to MENU > PREFERENCES > BACKUP FOLDER LOCATION
Now, if your backups are on your SD CARD or INTERNAL, hitting "DETECT" will find them and you could select that folder location or you can browse to the path yourself if you know where it is.

SP Flash Tool Flashable Backup

Hei guys, I own a Chinese handphone. Tweaked it so much, soft bricked it numerous times, but I got the stock rom at my disposal anyway so it doesn't matter much. It's cheap so I can actually do some experiments or tested non Play Store, or even suspicious apps on it.
However, going back and forth to stock then reconfigure everything is rather tedious task to do.
I did installed a CWM recovery and did a full nandroid backup. But it's seem that CWM backup didn't overwrite the old one so when I do a second one it failed, saying I'm out of space? I still got about 2 GB on internal storage, and 8 GB on external storage. It's said my folder (I forgot which, it's /data if I'm not mistaken) don't have space left. This is one funny thing about my phone, it doesn't use the internal storage at all. I cannot move the apps to the internal storage as well, only to the external SD card.
I'm out of space probably also because I move so many app as system. This way when I do a factory reset I got all my updated apps within, without the need to reinstall it.
So, the questions :
Is there any way to make CWM to actually update a backup, instead of creating a new one? Which partition I should wipe from CWM if I want to create an updated backup? It is convenient to do the restore directly from CWM, but I cannot update the backup, with that space problem.
How about creating a full custom ROM flashable image of my phone on which I can save to my PC instead?
How about going on fetching the nandroid backup CWM generated? Is it flashable using SP Tool? But I can't find the files anywhere in my system.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Found some stuffs on CWM backup.
I'll update this thread when I've worked it out.
I'm an idiot. I can actually save the CWM backup into the internal SD. It's visible on any file manager within the folder "clockworkmod".
Sorry I did have experience with CWM, but never use it for backup, only to flash patches.
