Reply button in notification and alarm dismiss in notification - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I switched back from a GPE ROM to clean ROM. The two things I miss is the read/reply button for text messages and the early dismiss button for my alarm. Are there apps that can do this? I'd rather not swap sms apps.
Thanks

Look for cm10 quick reply is the only one close i found..
Let me know if you can get it to work. Mine wasn't working fully

I remember on the SG3 there was a way to port the AOSP Message.apk simply to work on Touchwiz, I'll try the same method for Sense but I doubt it will work, but have faith.

Look for an app called Yaata.. I love it. Does exactly what i was looking for as a quick reply.

sms app options

hey guys, what's up?
have been getting used to using android system for a while now and there's one final issue i'd like to sort out.
im coming from an iphone 3gs - jailbroken of course. cydia market had a tweak for texting (bitesms) that i absolutely loved. it gave you the ability to quickly reply to received texts and quick compose from any screen without disrupting what you were doing. also allowed you to reply/compose from the lock screen without "sliding to unlock". my favorite part was if i wanted to compose my own messages, all i had to do was hit the volume up, or volume down button and tap the volume slider icon and it would bring up an sms window. even worked from lock screen.
i've been searching android market to find something similar. found a few options but none quite as polished as bitesms was. wanted to see if there was anything out there i've missed that might be what i'm looking for.
so far, i've tried GOsms, handcent, and chompSMS(made by the same people as bite) thanks in advance

Interesting idea to streamline texting

Well this is my first post, so i hope it's in the right section. I've been using an ICS rom on my Inspire for a while now and I love everything about it. One thing I love especially is the ability to swipe away notifications, mostly because my touchscreen doesn't work in the very top right corner, right where the X is to clear the notifications, so it makes it alot easier on me. While i was swiping away a text notification i wondered if the notification bar could be further tweaked to allow replying to a text message straight through the notification bar. For people like me who like the stock messaging app in ICS more than others such as GoSMS and Handcent, I think it would be pretty cool to just swipe down, maybe long press on the notification, and be able to reply right there instead of having to exit whatever im doing. I'm not sure if this can be done, but if it can I think alot of people would utilize it.
Welcome to the forum.
I'm not sure but can you swipe the opposite way and then it launches the reply dialog? If it isn't built in, I agree it is a good idea.

This is a good idea. My galaxy note allows me to swipe one way on a contact to call, and the other to text, regardless of which screen its on (except the notification tray of course).
I think the best way to have this handled would be a mod that allows swiping one way to through away, and swyping the other way to start a predefined activity.

[Q] Messaging app automatically reading texts and not notifying

Hey all, I'm having an issue with my messaging app. It only started happening within the last week or so. If i open up the Messaging App and am talking to someone but happen to leave the app actively open on the screen and simply just hit the power button, any texts I would then receive dont notify me. I have to hit the home button or switch to a different app in order to get notified i have a new text. The app seems to be automatically "reading" the text and not playing my notification sound or adding a notification on the notification bar. I'm on the latest version of ParanoidAndroid if that helps any.
Thanks in advance!

Just to rephrase incase it was confusing wording: If i have the Messaging app open when i turn the screen off, i wont get any notification that i've received a text (icon in bar, sound, vibrate) HOWEVER, if i go back to my home screen or to another app it will all function as intended.
This just started recently and out of the blue (when i was on an older paranoid android build) so i updated my rom trying to fix it so i am now on the latest and it still seems to be happening.
Final Update: I just did a full reset and flashed over to LiquidSmooth to try it out, so unfortunately i didnt find a solution to fix that specific issue.

How to kill TouchWiz lockscreen widgets while keeping Dashclock? (4.3)

Evening, amigos!
Just two days ago I flashed a custom 4.3 ROM onto my S3 (before I was running 4.1.2). Running perfectly, no crashes, etc.
However, I noticed that when I get a missed call, a TouchWiz lockscreen widget comes on with a big, ugly, white box. It would be useful, except that I use DashClock for lockscreen notifications, and the TW widget makes itself my "home" lockscreen, and I can't trash it like the other lockscreen widget screens. There is no settings in the system settings to disable these baked-in widgets entirely, as far as I can see.
Is there any way I can disable this widget from being created (perhaps through the stock dialer?)? It only happens for missed calls, but that's that's probably because I use non-stock apps for other "notifiable" messages, like Textra for SMS, Google Voice for voicemail, etc.
I do have Xposed Framework installed with quite a few modules (including the one that allows me to use DashClock in the first place), so if there is a module available that will do this, I can easily go that route.
Many thanks!
Happens to me all the time. If i miss a call the TW screen won't go away until i reboot. Very annoying.

I'm not sure if it's totally the same for you, but when I go into the call log (whether it's in the stock dailer, or Contacts+, which is what I use), the missed call notification clears from the notification shade, and the TW missed call widget doesn't appear anymore (I just tried it).
My problem is that I don't want it to appear in the first place since I use DashClock.
Oh how I wish TouchWiz didn't exist...

No Notification Displayed on the Apps Icon

Hi guys,
I found that there's no notification count on SMS, Whatsapp, etc on the icon. In the past with other phone, I always have it. I'm wondering if this is a configuration issue?
And the other thing is can I swap back and menu item? As well as change menu item to long press and show recent items to short press?
Thanks.

I can only say you can change the buttons in settings. (swap back and recent apps) You can also add Menu button. Try to play it, you might be able to set it the way you want. With notification count on icon am not sure as I use different launcher.
All this apply to CM rom, if you have stock rom everything you mentioned worked for me fine.

Thanks for the reply.
I couldn't find the button swap setting in settings page, did I miss something here?
I am still using original RON and neither original launcher nor Nova launcher showing notification count on the apps icon.
Thanks.

Try factory reset and test again. Maybe I was running custom launcher and now can not remember right IF I could see the notifications on icon on default or custom launcher. I am now on CM so can not test it.
Somebody else have to tell ya

Thanks mate, no worries. I will see how and update here if I managed to resolve it.
Does CM audio working in the latest build?
For the notification count in the icons you need a launcher that supports it. For example Nova launcher, but then you will also need another app as Missed It! or TeslaUnread.
With the stock ROM you cannot swap the back and menu button, but well, this device is so big, if you're a righty the back button is more useful in the right.
However I would love the ability to reconfigure the menu button and swap it with the recents menu item...

Thank you. Yeah I purchased Nova prime in the end and use TeslaUnread. As for the soft button configuration, I will wait for custom ROM. Cheers. ?
