Can someone port stock pure AOSP for this phone please
I tried copying the app, framework, fonts and media folders from the nexus 5 ROM but it didn't work
Paranoid android is pretty much aosp, give that a shot.

cm is even more aosp than pa since pa uses cm as a base.

I develop Xposed mods and its better for me to have pure aosp for testing purposes
Use this. snapshot m8 . pure CM experiences. https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=bacon&type=snapshot

Uh no, absolutely incorrect. Both CM and PA build from their own code source. PA was based on CM ages ago, but no longer. PA is very much more AOSP that CM is at this point.
ill try building a GE edition rom, been meaning to try it out, hopefully i can get it done.
its kind of useless to get rid of the few extra cm additions. you can turn them off if you dont like them and have basically the exact same look as what you get on a nexus device.

I'm searching from some JB AOSP rom. Clean without any mod or tunning.
Yes, for S4.
What is the link?
Thanks.
Too many links to post but you got CM10&10.1, AOKP, Blackbean, DarkJelly.
But CM and others are tweaked roms. Not exist a clean & basic AOSP rom?

CM is the cleanest one you can get, nobody has done a pure AOSP rom and don't see much point in it myself but then I already find CM a bit plan anyway. Just give it a try you might just like it and it not like you have to use said tweaks.
Indeed, theres little to no point with a pure aosp roms. Hardly anyone wants that, it doesnt make any sense when the "tweaked" ones are so much better.
If you want a pure aosp rom, you'll probably have to build it yourself.
I'm running the latest CM10 nightly and like it. Too me, CM is the closest you'll get to pure AOSP without buying a Nexus. I recommend trying it out.

Is there any official or unofficial site to download AOSP roms? CM10.1 has laggy when touch, so frustrating...
Maybe you know AOKP .So theWhisp ported it to GM2 and later today (as he said) he's going to port it to GA+ .Waiting eagerly

What is*AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP?
We were waiting for when you’d ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they’re “baked in” by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone’s settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?
AOKP Release*Versioning
We have two different kinds of builds/releases - Nightlies, and Milestones.
Nightlies: Automatic builds, every 3 days, of the latest code committed (may contain nuts bugs).
Milestones: Most stable builds, usually released once a month.

I am very desperate to know how AOKP can be better than CM10/Cm10.1 .. They provide the best of performance and alot more..
So I`m thinking of making the change over to CM Mod nightlys.
So I have just been running stock 4.4.2 with xposed.
Thinking about just using CM mod nightlys (I read that the nightlys are sometimes more stable than the snapshots)
And things seem nice and quick just playing around but I need something That wont give to many problems How has CM been lately? Also how is OTA updates? are they reliable enough to not have to keep wiping each time theres an update?
Thanks
Also Does Xposed Modules work on CM roms?
And is there a recommended kernel besides using the stock CM One?
There are alot of great roms... Alot better than cm.

Just try it for a while, at the end of the day its just about preference. The CM rom itself is rockstable and the stock kernel performs very well and offers good batterylife.

What this guy said but to add, keep an open mind there are a lot of good ROM's out there. Purity and Mahdi come to mind. On my n4 I used carbon and couldn't wait to flash the next nightly but I got away from that.
I recommend Chaos Kernel since they went CAF or Elemental X has CAF version
Hi just got the nexus 5 and its rooted rumning cm11 m9 and all is good. What my question is that will franco kernel work with cm11,m9 as im aware the latest version dont but not too sure about cm11 m9. I have tried searching but no luck.
Don't think so...afaik FK doesn't work with CM and derivatives
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Free mobile app
It should work with older versions, before they implemented CAF, not sure when that happened though.
Kind of pointless though, there are many other roms. Try some out before you decide it is the only one.
Nothing against CM.
Ok thanks for letting me know. Just angry as i gt the franco updater from playstore and it wouldnt let me uninstall or refund it so i had to force uninstall with sd maid pro

Thing is i have tried many roms on my previuos phomes (s4,s1,wave) but i always got back to cm i dunno i guess i only like CM as its stock google-like but with a few moar features. Paranoid is nice but its too much customized for me lol
I guess ill just wait until frano makes it usable again for cm11 m9

Franco will not become cm compatible. CM is the most customised ROM out there, so much so, it is the only (original) ROM to use CAF. You must use a CAF kernel with CM. Chaos is good.
Otherwise if you must use Franco (seems silly) you'll have to use stock or AOSP.

You should give Elemental X a try. It complements CM 11 very well.

You know you can choose which tweaks to use right? You don't have to have 238 DPI with luminous pink signal icons. Though that does sound kinda cool!

Why? Isit less customized? Look my thread was just about asking if franco is compatible with cm, not changing my rom. No offence to any1 but like i said i love cm rom and if franco is a no go then so be it. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeez

If you don't want to cause offense or make yourself look foolish, take more care about what you say. If you don't want to debate anything specific, dont say it at all.
This thread has run its course. Plenty of great cm kernels around.

So... I'm planning to switch to Nexus 5 because my current phone (xperia zl) is lost...
Can you guys suggest me a good custom rom? I mean lag-free (no lag when you pull down the notification drawer), and stable ?
Thanks a lot, sorry if i'm asking such as unimportant question, i'm new in here
Since AOSP is built for Nexus range, they're all about as lag free as each other and all pretty stable.
Just look for the features you want and try the roms...

But i've read on some website said that PA, Carbon, and Mahdi is laging.. .Is that true?
If they are, its users poor setup or certain apps. ?
Stock is noticeably faster than pacman cm based ROM no matter what my settings were.
Going to try a couple more aosp based Roms like rastakat for the missing features from stock.
Will definitely be sticking to aosp Roms now though and not bother with any cm based.

Cm has always been a battery drain for me since cm6. Its never been more stable than anything else. Maybe their final versions are as stable as everything else, but all their nightlies and everything else released between the final versions always seem to introduce bugs. And they always change stuff that doesn't need changing.
I will never use cm again. Simply awful.

read the xda threads on xda in general, q&a. many many times its cm thats unstable. besides, i spent years on cm, i know what it can be like. anyways, for the nexus 5, there are many roms that id consider more stable than cm.
First time trying a cm based ROM on my n5 and first time I have stability issues. Had to hard reboot cause it wouldn't wake up at all.
