S2 roms on S2plus? - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Hey people.
Just recently someone told me that we can flash S2 roms on S2plus. Only problem would be NFC.
Now I feel this isn't possible as both the phones have different CPUs.
But still is it true anyways ?

That's not true. You can brick your phone.I suggest you not to do that.

[Q] S3 4G/LTE I9305 Custom Roms?

Hi All,
Been on the S3 I9300 for some months now and lucky enough to upgrade to S3 4G in Australia. Found root/cwm but looking for custom roms? Been using Omega V26/27/27.1 and loved it. Assume cant load this to new S3/4G?
Thanks in advance!
No buddy, don't even try it lol! The I9305 has 2gb ram and a 4g receiver, so any ROMs from this section would render those added features unusable. But get a second opinion from a lead developer.

same here, just got it now and wish that there is a custom rom
should of stuck with the i9300
Sent from my checkrom jellybean powered sgs 3
I am out of contract and in the UK, and am undecided about whether to go for the i9300 or i9305 SGS III.
I understand that ROMs for the i9300 won't work for the i9305, but I am wondering, since they share so much hardware, will it not just be a matter of time before i9300 ROMs are ported to i9305?
I would hate to be stuck in a developmental dead end, but obviously LTE and 2GB RAM potentially give the phone better longevity/resale value, and in the meantime at least the i9305 has official Jelly Bean.
Is it safe to say that i9305 will see decent support, or is it too risky to plunge in now, especially at a higher cost than for vanilla i9300?
Answer is unknown at the moment it depends upon the Devs and the firmware structure .

you are right about the better resale and its being more future proof than I9300.
I have already ordered mine through Orange as I was due for an upgrade as i think I9300 will be sooner or later get its own sub forum and roms will start to come out as demands increases..but in the mean time i will just enjoy the stock version
Can anyone please try that?

[Q] Qusetion: Baseband's and custom ROM's

Hey Everyone,
I am just trying to learn the in's and out's of flashing custom rom's on android phones. I have been doing some reading and some people state
As long as the custom rom has been developed for your phone, you can flash the firmware, then flash the baseband version for your phone, maybe plugin a few APN settings and you should be good to go.
I am wondering if there is some truth to this? Just because it sounds too good to be true.
Thanks!

Great! Thanks very much. My next goal is to see what the difference between the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D and the GT-S5830.
Good ol' google has litterly, no information. any result for the GT-S5830D brings up info for the GT-S5830 which makes me think they are similar? and the firmwares should work?
I know for sure that the GT-S5830i is quite different. its clearly stated.
Wondering if anyone knows about the mystery "D"?

Well i decided to take a risk and flash a ROM that says its for a GT-S5830 on the GT-5830D and it worked perfectly. No issues. I ended up flashing The Myth rom.

sch-r760 custom kernel w/cwm possible?

Hey guys, have a generic CDMA sch-r760 and m looking for a custom kernel that includes cwm. I'm trying to get a recovery installed on this device in order to flash custom ROMs. Could really use the help because I know these phones don't get tackled much. I'm doing this for my cousin because I rooted his phone in high hopes I could upgrade him to jellybean like I did with a Samsung captivate last night. Any help?

Yea, that is still a dead thread. Well, dead due to the fact that everyone is talking to themselves and development is occurring.

[Q] 4.4.2 Note 2 Rom porting

I was just wondering if it was at all possible to port a rom from the note 2 to the gs3 because last I herd they are basically the same phones, ones just bigger. The reason why is because they have a lot of 4.4.2 touchwiz based roms that I sure would like to run on my galaxy. Now if this is possible would it be easy and wise to use a tool such as the Rom-porting tool found somewhere on these forums? Any and all advice is appreciated and I hope i'm not way off base here. Thanks!

OK, yeah that makes sense. But is it still possible, even if it's not in the way I described?

nothing impossible but porting rom like TW from different device need a hard work and maybe patch the kernel that we cant as locked bootloader.
you can try by replace /app /framework /priv-app worst case is bootloop use port guides iam not a good porter.
