not sure if this will definitely solve your issue, but try formatting the SD card in a PC or maybe in another phone if it recognizes it... :good:
format using Mini Tool Partition Wizard in your Windows PC/Laptop. to Fat32 Only.

First backup your data, by some means ( connecting to some card readers, etc)
Now mount your SD card in USB mode using some other device that support, or the same card reader itself. ( some non android phones are also capable of that, like HTC Smart that I had )
Using some partitioning tool, delete whole of the contents - not just data, but the whole partitions ( I tested it on Gparted in linux. Gparted live medium is available from http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php ). Now your card doesnt have any partitions, or even a partition table.
Insert the device into your xperia L and turn it on. It will automatically format your card to fat32 partition.

My sdcard got damaged now.
Not even computer detecting but also not showing on any other devices..
What can I do now?

If its permanently damaged, there is nothing you can do. As a final hand, you may try inserting it into a linux system, and check the output of command "ls /dev | grep sdb". If your card is being detected, the output will be sdb if you haven't plugged any other removable device.

same as me....my 32gb kingston sd card class 10 is not working. XL always say "sd card damaged"
XL has problems with class 10 cards. I had a Sandisk Class 10 16 GB sdhc, which I was about to get replaced due to the same reason, but lost it.
I then bought a transcend 16GB class 10 sdcard, which the phone showed as damaged. I then finally had that replaced, and after a formatting a few times and restarting a few times, it somehow worked.
plus many others reported class 10 cards not being read on XL
Luck by chance :/
with UHS-1 is works flawlessly
i wanna swap memory internal to extternal, but would the damage memory card when my memory card has partition? i use sandisk memory with 30 mbps 16 gb. sory for my bad english

If ur fone is rooted .. connect ur fone to pc via usb cable, go into recovery mode thru ur fone , if u can see mounts and storage , select it and then select mount USB option .. ur sd card will be mounted .. copy the files to ur pc .. if u have minitool partition wizard , open it and format / delete and create ur sdcard , then copy ur files back into the sdcard .. So u got ur sdcard back !
I have a issue with microSD card with the stock rom (jb4.1.2, sprint).
When I insert my 32gb samsung class 10, the phones tell me that is corrupted.
I have formatted with PC (windows 8.1), with the phone (in android, not in recovery) but same issue.
I also run chkdsk from windows to fix the problem, but nothing..
The only way to get my SD working is mount and remount from android settings until it makes a strange "mount loop" and to the end phone accept the card.
Every reboot or every time I get out the card I have the same issue.
I also have issue with spotify: aftero 400 / 500 MB of downloaded cache it tell me the memory is finished.. but I got 10gb left in sd and 2 in internal.. I think issues are connected.
Have you tried a different SD card? Perhaps that card is in fact corrupt.

With CyanogenMod (10.2 and 11) works perfectly on my phone, with my old desire Z works.. The problem is only with original sprint rom..
Test: 64mb microSD works ok.. (don't ask me why I have 64mb microSD )
New test: my brother's 64gb kingstone class 10 works perfectly, my samsung 32gb class 10 on my brother's huawei p1 with CM10 works perfectly..
I rooted successfully and got directory bind. Everything is lined up perfectly and I press add and nothing happens. I then go into the sd card via my pc and I try to create a folder and the PC won't allow me. I suspect the card can't be written to which is why directory bind won't copy. Any suggestions? Before I rooted, I had no issue creating a folder on the SD card....
I should mention I also d/l the sdfix kitkat program from google play and it says no action necessary.....I also can take the sd card out of the shield and plug it directly into my pc and it works fine so it;'s def shield related
The current format is NTFS. I've been reading FAT32 could be an option but I'm using a 32 gb card so am I going to lose half my card? Don't understand why I had no writing issue prior to root and now I do? both were NTFS
FIGURED IT OUT - FAT32 was the answer. works now formatted that way. not sure why ntfs all of a sudden stopped working after root.
so shield can't write on NTFS either.. ?
I knew it can't handle exfat, that's just meh..

that actually wasn't the problem, he ran the app but it was already modified.
NTFS was the problem as the shield only supports it as read only.
I love my new Moto G LTE but ....
I cannot move apps to the SD card, the option is "greyed out" for apps i am sure they are movable (on other Moto G LTE's)
It is possible to write and read from the SD card (with e.g. ES File Explorer) but when i try to move apps marked as "movable" the option is not possible.
It wasn't working on the original 4.4.3 and now on the original 4.4.4 also not, my device is not (yet) rooted.
Another new formatted SD card gives the same problem, what can i do?
Nobody??
Did you format cards on a Pc as Fat32 and then again on the phone itself?

Yes, I formatted the SD cards (three different types now) twice. It is verry strange the cards can be written by an app like ES File Explorer but the standard Android option "Move to SD" is greyed out!
What can be the reason?
Since updating to 5.1 (latest BlissPop ROM) from 4.4, I've run into a lot of issues with my external SD card (SanDisk 64GB Ultra, also tried 64GB Extreme).
Unable to install apps from apk/amazon app store if they have permissions for the SD card
Unable to move apps to SD under Manage Apps
Inconsistent write ability to SD.
After a lot of googling, I've seen that there's the issue with platform.xml (adding media_rw to WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE), that the SD card needs to be formatted as NTFS and/or renamed. I've tried these without success. I can use Folder Mount to move app files but this doesn't fix the installing apps from the amazon store. I can unmount the sdcard, install and then remount but this is a bit ridiculous.
Are there any solutions that allow the external SD to work consistently and without constant hassle? I rely quite heavily on the additional storage.
Thanks,
-m
I had the same problem with a SD card from Sandisk 64 GB with my Shield Tablet on lollipop. She worked flawessly and a day, I wasn't able to write on it sometimes, some files had disapear, I couldn't mount.... Check your SD card first. Mine was HS. And be aware to make it writable, lollipop don't allow permissions. You must be rooted for that.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean. Or how to verify the card is writable. I can write to it using a file explorer with root access, but that's about it.
