Best tempered glass screen protector - Galaxy S 5 Accessories

Hi all,
Well I have just had the screen of my phone saved by a tempered glass screen protector I bought off eBay for $10.

Now as you can see from the picture I am in the market for a new one. I can buy another one from eBay but was wondering if it is worth investing in a more expensive one such as the Amzer Kristal for $30. The problems I had with my now broken protector was that it was pretty heavy (around 10 grams or so) and it made my fingerprint scanner not work.
I appreciate any suggestions and experiences you can share. Cheers

Get the $2 ones. I just got one shipped from China for 2 bucks total. Its awesome. I didn't expect much, but it is really smooth, thin, and was easy to install. I haven't had any problems with the finger print scanner. It might even work better, but I'm sure the mileage will carry with user. I never use the fingerprint scanner. I'm not sure of the weight, but now that you mention it my phone does feel a bit heavy.
I haven't used one of the name brand ones though. I'd be curious to hear from someone who's used both.

I bought one from the Verizon store when i purchased my phone and I am very satisfied with it. Much better than normal screen protectors.

Good save. I'd go for the cheap ones on ebay. I got mine from there, nice and thin, feels like the screen, can't complain.

Weird it sounds like even the cheap ones should work with the finger scanner but mine didn't. Did yours come with the little nub to put on the home key too? I think I might have to spend a little bit more just to try to get a lighter one. Using the phone now without it I realize just how much heavier it felt with it. If anyone can chime in with what they're using I appreciate it.

I like Zagg Glass. It comes with lifetime warranty.

I know it's not the glass one, but I have an amfilm screen protector. It's a really great value for what it is, and it last for a really long time. I know people like the glass because of the really good feel, but this has it too. I think that it's a terrific better option to the glass.

CLEAR Hard Snap-On Case Cover for G2

NOTE: I know there's some discussion about this specific case in another thread here, but since there were other cases discussed in that thread I thought it would be best to create a dedicated thread for it.
I recently purchased/received this from luxurycellwireless, and after using the HTC Hard Shell Case (OEM) for about a month I'd have to say I'm very impressed with this clear plastic one. It fits the G2 nicely, almost to the point where I'm going to be nervous when I have to remove it from the phone. Hopefully I won't have to take it off anytime soon, but for the price of $3 shipped how could anyone go wrong with this. I almost think this is a better case than the HTC one, as that already broke on me after a month's use. However, after only using this one for a few hours there are already light scratches on it. I don't care about that, because it's purpose is to protect my phone. I'm considering buying another one or two of these to keep on hand, in the event that this one breaks on me. It's that good. My only concern now is how much dust is going to get trapped under it, hopefully not enough to warrant a dismantling & cleaning. If you're looking for a case, go get yourself one of these. You won't be disappointed.
Here's 18 photos I took of the case protecting my G2 for your viewing pleasure - https://picasaweb.google.com/dustrho/CLEARHardSnapOnCaseCoverForG2#

Wow, no replies.
Thinking about buying a couple more of these, as I love this case. It's easily the best one I've purchased so far for my G2. Sure, there are some scratches on the back of it now, but what do you expect for something that's clear and made out of cheap plastic? The one thing I really enjoy about this case, is that it seems to have fixed my "screen wobbling" issue (no more!).
If you need a case for your G2, this is the one.
Looks good. I found a softish one
does it obstruct the top row keyboard by a tiny bit? my fingers are big so it is important to me that it doesn't
Had that case before my current black one, liked it a lot, but with 1 problem. After a week or so of being in your pocket it collects dust and lint under the case and it looks dirty lol so I would take it off and clean it like every week then finally the little hinges that hold it on broke other then that it did the job.

No, it doesn't interfere with the top row of buttons on the physical keyboard. That top piece has a cutout so it sits flush. You can see it in the picture below...
Thanks OP I got mine in the mail yesterday and I really like it.

You're welcome.
I had to take the case off the other day to do a battery pull (bad ROM flashing put me in a boot loop), and I have to say it was pretty easy getting it off. Nowhere near as difficult as the HTC OEM hard shell case or the cheap black one that was on sale at Amazon. So, I'm glad I got this case, and just need to order myself a couple extra for backup purposes.
I got one last week it looks like that one but is black and has a soft feel to it.
thanks for the TIP! this is a great case.

I did the exact same thing. I bought a carbon effect one from ebay (for next to nothing) to see how it looked, felt, protected the phone etc. and when it arrived, i was pretty happy. It looked decent enough and seemed to be of reasonable quality for the price so i put my phone in (which seemed to require an abnormal amount of effort) and then it appeared that the case was a little too tight. I then spent the next 20 minutes attempting to get my DHD out of it and when i finally did the imitation leather/material was starting to tear so i threw it away.
I also decided to buy myself a nice cheap Desire S style silicone/gel case from ebay (once again, for next to nothing) and i couldn't be happier! It offers more than ample protection and it looks great. So i'd advise that if you're on a budget that you stick to a gel case, unless you want to spend much more money on a higher quality leather flip case.
I think I've bought the same carbon case. It's a pain in the butt to get off lol
I purchased my case from Ebay uk the Seller username is phone_giants and the item is listed as"HTC DESIRE HD MOBILE PHONE LEATHER CASE COVER POUCH" hope this is useful.
PDair case
I've used PDair on both my Streak and Inspire, good quality and selection.
Me too, ideal for attaching to your belt as well as it comes with a belt clip, also have the htc one which I use to put into my shirt pocket, comes with a pull cord to pull it out of the case and protects the phone in your pocket/bag etc
I was quite rightly introduced (by the largest Vegan site on the planet) to the plight of animals when it comes to the meat and leather industry. So you might want to consider a TPU case or something else, especially after seeing these videos (i made a quick page).
I use a TPU case and it's been great alongside a separate sleeve. Thankfully there are many other options out there too.

Hi there!
I purchased this:
http://www.pielframa.com/htc-desire-hd-imagnum-cases.htm
The good:
Excellent general fit, durability and overall protection.
In a pinch the lid can double as a kickstand although within a rather narrow angle span.

The bad:
The fit around the micro usb port is a tad too tight but useable.
The ugly:
85€ + 15€ delivery to Greenland
Noreve looks cheaper but I have no experience with their products.

Regards ELO
All in all it´s the best case i ever had.
Oh - BTW. The belt clip looks decent enough but i never use it. I just stick the whole thing in a pocket somewhere. Pants usually.

I'm not associated with this seller/auction, HOWEVER, I have purchased this exact case (but in all black) from this specific seller and can recommend both. It's a three-piece case with silicone in the middle and a hard (but slightly grippy still) front/back that snap together. I think this is really the most protective case available so far for the Nexus 4. And unlike many other cases that snap, this one makes me feel a bit more confident that the small plastic pieces aren't going to break like they do on so many cheap cases. That said, I've only had this case for a week, so we'll see...
The cutouts are perfect, buttons feel great, and if I were going to drop my phone or knock it off of the table, I'd really be hoping I have this case on it when I do! Ultimately, I got this as my going-to-the-gym case, otherwise I use a Meifeng. But it is a beast of a case - don't get this to be anything but a beast, and a mug o' beer, of course!
If you want to search for the other designs for this case, search for "e960 case tuff" (no quotes) on eBay.
Also, I *am* able to charge my phone on the LG Qi pad with this case on. It must be *perfectly* placed but it charges just fine then. If you take the back hard plastic piece off, then you can move it around much more.
"Oh Yeah! Time for a Beer!"
LOL... Might lose it in a night club or at a bar!
Only if we knew if it fit any of the Seidio holsters active or surface, I'd be all over this like white on rice (don't worry, I'm Asian lol)
That case looks awesome!
Could you post some pictures of how it fits onto the phone?
Interesting.
Found this on ebay yesterday, really like the case and am going to buy it! I thought of getting the beer style, but as I will take this case with me on drinking nights, I advised myself not to buy the beer style, because I might be raising my phone instead of my glass occasionally!

It wouldn't take you long to realize your mistake...
Just received the white black version of this case. Its actually pretty nice. It feels good in hand and looks like it would protect the phone pretty well.
The only cons are, it has a weird smell, pretty strong plastic smell and also proximity sensor doesn't work too well, like for it doesn't work for phone calls.
FYI
So back to the Poetic Bumper

With the beer, no. But in solid colors, yes. As I stated, I own the solid black version.

[VIDEO] Samsung Galaxy S5 - ZAGG invisibleSHIELD Glass Installation

I use to do so many installation videos of invisibleSHIELDs (orignal, HD, dry) back in the day. Then Spigen came along with all their Glas screen protectors. Doesn't take much to see that a glass screen protector is superior in clarity. It's really become a shame to put a product that suffers from known issues like the rainbow effect and orange peel on these flagship devices.
I'm sure ZAGG felt the pressure put on them by manufacturers like Spigen to produce something better. Enter the Glass line.
PRICE
This thing is kind of expensive. $40 bucks basically at Best Buy. From ZAGG it's $5 cheaper. Maybe that's because there is less packaging with the one that ship from ZAGG.
Spigen is pretty expensive as well. Cheaper glass screen protectors are popping up on eBay at lower prices. I think for the most part those will be fine. I've used a few before. Expect less support if they don't work and a higher chance of bubbles. How much higher? I don't know. We'll have to wait for feedback from others.
WARRANTY
Of course there are cons to glass screen protectors. I won't deny that. My wife has cracked a few. Spigen has a replacement program to get you another one at a discount cost:
http://www.spigen.com/need1more
According to the information supplied in this product, ZAGG will keep on sending you replacements if you pay shipping and handling. You will most likely have to return the broken pieces of your protector as well as proof it was damaged.
INSTALLATION
You don't really need a video. However, I did one anyways . The installation process is easier in my opinion than non glass screen protectors. Ultimately you'll just want to make sure everything is dust free and aligned. If you skip towards the end of the video where the screen protector makes contact with the screen, you will see the air bubbles all come out on their own. It's that easy.
FIT AND CONCLUSION
I was really pleased with the fit. This product leaves enough room around the side of the screen for cases which is a huge benefit. Most cases will not pry up the borders and cause the glass to lift. Cheaper Chinese glass screen protectors and this one leave openings and not just cutouts for the speaker and home button. In this case, I applaud that because of the fingerprint scanner. From videos I saw of the Glas, they chose to have a cutout for the home button. They're thin, and I'm sure you can get your fingerprint read. I mean, who would design it that way if you couldn't? I just believe that it would be easier to scan it if the area was left open. Spigen used to give away home button stickers to make the button taller. Can't do that with the S5's scanner.

Here's what we found at Best Buy last night from ZAGG...

Hi thanks for the review really liked it. though, isn't the glass screen for the s5 smooth and hard enough anyways? and also would it be possible for a review on the extreme version i want to see the clarity on that one. since i am a outdoors kind of guy i got a good case with it just need a screen protector that will help avoid the damages and keep it clear for me to see.

Spigen Neo Hybrid plus Poweradd 9H Tempered Glass

So basically I decided to share those two awesome products with you, since I myself spent decent time searching for a good case/glass combo....
Spigen Neo Hybrid
Poweradd 9H Tempered Glass
First of all I wanna thank the people who shared those product before me and their reviews.
What led me to buying those product was the huge amount of positive feedbacks both here on XDA and in Amazon, plus the fact that there were perfect combo for ~35€, else with the Zagg glass I would have payed almost twice the price for the glass and another 6€ for the delivery since I couldn't get a combo deal from Amazon. So the second best thing was the Poweradd Tempered Glass.
First about the case:
-Easy install
-Feels solid
-Improves the grip by alot! Not as good as the OnePlus One "Sandpaper" back, but still a really solid grip.
-Great look! Got it for a few days and already people have complimented it and asked me where and for how much I bought it. etc.
- Buttons are really solid and responsive, especially compared to some other cases.
-Adds a little bulk but really not that much. After a few days you actually get use to it, and when you take the case off it feels odd.
Maybe the only think I don't like about the case is that my phone is Azure Blue (Blue Topaz), so in daylight the phone looks really light blue and doesn't match the case at all. But at night on the other hand, when it gets darker shade of blue - HOT DAMN THIS THING LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!!
As for the glass, Poweradd is not a stranger to me as a brand. I already have Poweradd power bank which is rock solid and also a friend of mine has Bluetooth/NFC receiver for his phone/laptop which is also rock solid. So I decided to trust this brand once again and I wasn't disappointed.
About the glass:
-Comes with: Alcohol wet wipe, microfiber cleaning cloth, dust removal paster, super straight forward manual on the back and the glass itself ofcourse. All standard package for a tempered glass.
-Installation was pretty easy. After applying the glass there were still few really small bubbles who disappeared after a day of use.
-The glass lined perfectly with the home button and the edges of the actual screen.
-Doesn't cover the proximity sensor.
-Responsiveness is excellent but the touch feel is not exactly as awesome as the real Galaxy S6 glass.
-0.33mm (who cares)
-9H hardness (also who cares it's a standard anyway)
-2.5D rounded edges (don't even know what that is, don't care either)
Oh and I forgot to mention that with the previous Tempered glass which I bought for 16.99€ from Saturn and I end up returning had an awful rainbow effect in the edges plus it was really poorly cut. Not really sure about the brand name tho.
Overall I'm pretty sure that this glass is as good if not better than any other glass and for the price of 10 euro it's totally worth it. Honestly I'm not really sure if I would be that happy with Zagg glass.
Here are some pics of the phone:

Probably the best money-value combo I could get. Both products are of extreme quality.
Try also Otterbox Alphaglass or Araree tempered glass screen protectors.
