[Q] Is there a Rom Similar to Hyperdrive 17.0 for the Galaxy s III? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Ok I dont know if this is the proper place for a thread like this.... so (mods move it if you need to. )
I have a Galaxy S4 and have the Hyperdrive version 17 and love it. But my friend who has an SIII would like something similar to it.
I was just wondering if such an animal existed..... One of the features he liked was the ability to record a phone call already baked into the Rom.
I like it too seeing as I have not seen an aftermarket version of this ever do it properly or without having to have the phone call on speaker.
Thanks in advance guys!!!!

Yea there is hyperdrive for the S3 but it's stuck on 4.1.2. The developer sold his S3 last I read. And with an xposed mod there is the call recording option also but definitely baked in is always better

Hey thanks Brother. Yeah my friend is on Kit kat soooo no dice there. I will keep lookin.
By the way would that Xsposed Mod work on the Droid 4? Also do you have a link for the Module?
Thanks !!!!!!!

Not sure, only way to do it is to try. If you download Xposed it's in the downloads under Xposed call recording if I remember correctly

And be sure to make a NAND backup beforehand. Just don't want to soft brick.

I'm using AllianceROM at the moment, it has call recording baked in and a ton of cosmetic customization options baked in as well.

CleanRom 4.5 call recording

I've been hearing the ability to record calls is built in this Rom version. Is that accurate? If so, how do you enable the feature?

I would love this as well. Unfortunately I think the only way it will happen is if one of the older kernel devs like Ziggy happens to feel like adding the kernel changes required for SKValex's Call Recorder to work.
Not much more than a year ago it seemed every phone had a kernel with it enabled, but now it is few and far between.
What I don't understand is why the native call recording was stripped out of the US SGS3, but the Note2 still has it.

Call recording wasn't stripped out of the original US SGS3, at least on Verizon. The functionality is in the original ICS firmware, some ROMs (Synergy) and mods enabled it, when it's enabled the upper-left hand button on the in-call keypad becomes the "Record" button. I don't know if that's the case with the new JB OTA (apparently it was in CleanROM 4.5 but I never installed that version) but I guess we'll find out in the coming days and weeks as ROMs are updated to the official Verizon JB version. I'm still running Synergy 1.7 for this reason.

It was on the clear rom build before 4.5. I forget which version it was.
4.5 still has the browser scroll feature.
5.1.1 has neither.
I'm running 4.5 and it's a great version, has everything I need.
I'll only upgrade if he makes a newer one and browser scroll comes back. Best feature ever in my opinion... I can't go back.

It was 3.1, I used to have a copy but I deleted it, sorry.... and I was just thinking about your browser problem and I have no idea if it would work or not but have you tried just taking the browser apk from 4.5 and sticking it in the latest build to get browser scroll?

[Q] TouchWiz 4.2.2

Guys, did you ever think about porting galaxy s4 rom on our device? that'd be great if you port Touchwiz 4.2.2.
Can't be done. We can get certain apps but not a whole ROM their debloated stock software is 1.4gigs.

Oh I see, But that would be great if someone could make that worked. I know that certain apps will not work on our device because of S4's different hardware, but some features like the gestures while in gallery or quick notification when phone is locked will worked because its just the censor on the left side of earpiece, maybe that could worked. I just cant afford s4 so I wish maybe we could get an update of 4.2.2 touchwiz even if other apps or features would not work, I just the love the S4's Rom, that's all.

[Leak] 4.2.2 leaks for International S3

MOD EDIT: DO NOT FLASH THE FILE IN THAT ARTICLE, IT IS FOR INTERNATIONAL S3 ONLY!
I can't wait to see what the ROM devs do with this!
Includes some of the non hardware based goodies that the S4 has.
" New features include a familiar array of lock screen widgets and unlock effects, new display modes, a re-tooled quick settings area in the notification pull-down, a new driving mode and an updated version of the S Voice assistant app. Some of the headline Galaxy S4 features like "Air view" hover-touch abilities aren't included -- that's because they're dependent on the S4's internal hardware."

While AOSP is more cutting edge, I like simple functions like Bluetooth volume working correctly as it does on TW.

I have it on my other S3, along with ktoonsez's kernel. While the volume seems to be acceptable, I still get the static and clicking every now and then.
This post is not to compare TW with AOSP, some do like TW based roms.

I'm saying ktoonz does have a tw version of his kernel if that's what you prefer. You could try using the ViPER4Android app and mess with the settings to clean that up. I'm sure someone in that thread could point you to good settings. In not sure if fauxsound amplifies BT, but you could try that as well.

Just wanted to point you in the right direction to fix your Bluetooth issue either through ktoonz's touchwiz kernel, fauxsound app, or ViPER4Android app. You may need to tweak the settings a bit to your liking as i don't know how severe your issue is. Could be the phone hardware, a software issue, a rom issue, or the Bluetooth headset itself causing it. It's not something that's easy to troubleshoot online. Sorry if i lost you, I'm a bit sleep deprived. Sorry if I was vague or rude. On that note, bedtime. Hope you get your issue resolved.

I've never had the Bluetooth issue with a TW ROM, only AOSP.
Thank you for the insight though. Get some rest.
So once the International version gets the official update, we can probably expect to see it 3 or 4 months later thanks to Verizon.
I just read that article and watched the video. Looks like aosp but with a few design tweaks. It would be nice if they just fixed the keyboard in the update. Ha

I wish Verizon would leak more updates. Other phones I have had in the past had new roms almost every week. The Galaxy S3 has been a big disappointment in factory updates, released hardware, and support. Once Samsung neglected to release a decent wireless charge option and Verizon cold shouldered its users, I don't think I'll go back to Samsung. I miss my HTC.

LiquidSmooth 2.7

Haven't seen anyone post anything about LiquidSmooth, but wanted to let everyone know it's available via Goo. Been running it for almost 24 hours and it seems very snappy and stable, no issues to speak of. Its an AOSP ROM for anyone who doesn't know, so you'll need gapps. I'm not affiliated with them in any way and all credit goes to the LiquidSmooth developers. Just a fan of the ROM!
If this post isn't allowed, just lock it. Or use as discussion about LiquidSmooth since there isn't one for s4...

Your in the right area, everyone is cool, I hope. Does bluetooth work consistently? and I had drop calls right in the middle of a call, random, but there. The rom rocks actually, but those are major bugs to me.
I was just about to post about this. Downloading the ATT build as we speak. Not sure why they haven't made a thread yet but have our carrier build made. Any way, it's nice to add to the ROM selection around here. I was checking out other carrier's ROMs, saw liquid and jflteatt on their goo.... *Profit*

LiquidSmooth is VERY similar to SlimBean feature wise, except for they run a normal DPI out of the box.

Don't really use Bluetooth, don't even have anything to test around with either. I'm hoping that when the 'Google Edition' is released that all the feature drivers gets ironed out for AOSP. Camera, BT, GPS, have always been janky with TouchWiz phones on AOSP.

[Q] Touchwiz Vs Stock

So I have been on Touchwiz 4.1.2 (AxisM RLS 21) for a long time and when the GEL laucher apk came out I installed it on my phone and I fell in love with it as soon as I got it and that got me wondering..."What features of Touchwiz do I actually use?" If I dont use any features of Touchwiz then I want to flash a 4.4 ROM (most likely Cyanogen Mod) on my S3. So my question to you is What features are specific to Touchwiz (4.1.2) that arent in Stock (4.4) or on Cyanogen Mod?

not just that but knox is like a sandboxed environment essentially separating 2 parts of your phone
for like example 1 work and 1 for development if one of them gets compromised it wont affect the other and you can manage things like remote wipe etc

You lose all of the Samsung branded apps, Kies, and the questionable smart stay function. In return, you get complete control of your device. I have tried a few times to go back to a TW rom in the last year (when CM development slows down and I get bored), but it always feels like going back to kindergarten...
I am on sspencer10's 4.4 build and love it. I even am using the new ART and enjoying the best battery life and smooth function that I have ever had. A few CM options have yet to be thrown in, but these guys are moving fast, and this is my daily driver since last week.

I saw the OP and I saw that the changelog hasnt been updated in a while. If you dont mind can you tell me what are the bugs and whatnot on it?
The OP in that thread is current. He just does not build everyday because CM does not do a lot daily. Others are cherry picking a lot to add features; they also revert a lot of stuff they cannot get to work. Right now, the camera is not ultra reliable, but everything else is great right now. I use nova, tibu, ROM manager, es file explorer, etc. for utility. 200 or so other apps are stable as well.
