Hey all,
I'm wondering if there is any valid software that works for retrieving the MSL on the LG Optimus One? I have a Telus P500h that I'm trying to network unlock for a friend, however, with CDMA Workshop, it is able to connect to the device, but it fails to read any information. I know I can go to Telus to have them unlock it for like 35$, but you need a Telus account, and I don't want one, nor do I really want to pay a fee.
I know one of you knows how to go about unlocking without paying, it cannot be impossible.
It has been awhile since I last unlocked a device, but when I did I used CDMA workshop. This was before Android, so maybe the two aren't compatible?
I did attempt the same thing with my Hercules, but it returned the same error.
The LG phone is not rooted, and for some reason it won't boot into download/recovery, so I don't believe that I can.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,

Hello,
I recently just purchased a Samsung Vibrant T959 (T-mobile) phone from ebay that was already rooted and has Froyo 2.2 installed.
I am actually from Canada, and the phone is from the US, so I need it unlocked so that I can use it on a carrier in Canada.
Is it okay to unlock it, when it is rooted and has Froyo 2.2 installed?
Will I run into any trouble or what do I do? I have no idea how to get the phone back to the original state, and I prefer froyo over the original stock rom.
If anyone could help, that would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
You can get the Unlock code from Online site and Unlock it.
title basically says it. i am looking on how i can root my samsung exhibit 2 4g on tmobile so that i can use it while im working in canada. tried to get an unlock code from tmobile and its nothing but an issue so i guess its rooting it now as im not paying for an unlock code. if anyone can help me that would be great! i dont have to usb code left it in the states so i would have to be able to do it either on the phone or via klies air
I've been searching for a number of hours now, and I haven't found the answer I need. I have a rooted Galaxy Avant from T-Mobile with TWRP installed, everything is backed up and ready for any customer firmware to be installed. I need to get this phone unlocked. T-Mobile says they won't unlock it because I haven't had an account with them for over a year, but it was a prepaid service plan and I bought the phone outright. They just refuse to provide me a code. I understand that even if I HAD a code I would have to flash the MetroPCS ROM and use IT to input the unlock, but what I'm hoping for is a way to unlock with a customer ROM or something like that so I can use it with Cricket. Everywhere I've looked has either lead me in the exact wrong direction and tried to get me to purchase an unlock code, or it has only told me how to input an unlock code I already have. I'm fairly knowledgeable about all of this, but I'm stumped. Anyone who can give me a hand with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi !
I haven`t found any thread for sim unlocking for this device but you can post or search in here https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/discussion-galaxy-avant-t2845229
Good luck !
I rec'd a SM-G920W8 model from my cousin. Its on Fido but I have a Rogers SIM card. I would like to simply unlock the phone and use it on Rogers instead and if possible, update the phone to a newer ROM/Android version but to have it still on Rogers after the fact. The phone has following details:
Android Version: 5.1.1 (stock)
Baseband: G920W8VLU3BOJ7
Im sure there are a guides for this on here, I did find one for a bootloader unlock from Mr. X on here, but I wasnt sure which bootloader file to download and thought I would ask if someone could please point me to the right direction as I simply dont want to brick a phone.
Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated by this newbie!
Thanks!
Are you sure it needs to be unlocked? Telus and Koodo phones as well as Bell and Virgin work on either network without unlocking.

You are right!
I just did what you suggested and its working now. I didnt think this was possible as the last Fido phone I had I had to unlock it.
Thanks for the suggestion! Much appreciated. I guess if I wanted to now just install a new ROM or update the Android platform on it, I can do that.
Yes. I'm running stock nougat on mine. It still receives updates ota without issue despite being a telus phone on koodo. I can root it and install a custom Rom anytime but it works fine and I don't want to wipe it right now. Too much important data. Online dating and texting several different girls I need to keep all my texts for future reference lol.
Just prior to reading this I'm letting you know I live in Australia
My Grandma bought a Samsung J1 Mini (SM-J105Y) from Coles and it's locked to Vodafone and she's with Optus, she asked me if I was able to unlock it for her and I said yes. I said yes assuming I'd be able to find what I needed to flash the kernal and ROM however it doesn't seem like there's as much support as I'd expected. Was hoping someone could help me out? If anything I might be able to find the stock firmware but not kernal. I'm not sure how locking phones to certain carrier's work anyway so I just assume I need to flash the kernal and ROM?
HI there
@FateDreadnaught don;t know if you've figured out unlocking from your carrier since you posted about it, if not here's what you need to do:
Go to the Vodafone Australia site and search for Unlock phone, all the information on what you need to do and the links on how to do it will come up there.
Unfortunately it is not free, if the phone is less than six months old, you will need to pay $50, more than six months $25.
When you use the unlock tool, answer YES when asked if you bought the phone from Vodafone, otherwise they will say to take it back where you got it from, and I guarantee you Coles won't be able to help.
oh and DO NOT TRY TO ROOT/FLASH AN UNLOCKED PHONE, IT WILL BRICK!
