Hi everyone! I bring an application that I have made for backup and restore system settings becoming more comfortable facilities in clean roms.
This application generates a copy settings (toggles, size navbar, clock position, etc.), keep all wifi networks and terminal dpi in the folder you choose. In turn you can perform a restore these settings at any time.
How to use:
The mode of use is very easy. When you open the application to make sure we secure the root permissions because if otherwise not function properly.
- In the first card must specify the folder where the operations (create copy or restore) will be made. If you want to create the copy simply enter a name such as "backup" and create a folder in the root of your sdcard and call containing the backup. If you want to restore a previously created backup must indicate the folder from which it intends to proceed.
- The second card is the one that initiates the backup.
- The third board is the one that restores the backup.

super cool
Thanks for your work. Nice design. Keep it going.
I can translate it into Russian. Please send strings in PM
EDIT: btw, ProjectL compatible?
EDIT2: please encrypt backup files, safety first
I will translate it to Polish (always with my GF: Kowalczyk ^^)
is this on the play store? If not I dont trust it
Is this app cross rom compatible? For example; the general set-ups I use are pretty standard across different roms, minus rom specific settings so if I'm switching from a SlimKat rom to a CM rom will this take care of my general settings such as sound, display, quick tile setup, etc. and skip any setting that is rom specific or would I have to create a separate backup for each rom. I will assume that this is not possible when switching from an AOSP based rom to an OEM based rom.

This may be the most useless post I've seen in a while. It is of no help to anyone, not worth the time it took to type, and has generally lowered the intelligence level of this entire thread.
Personally I trust apps on XDA more than I do the Play store.

Thanks man we have always been looking for this. Would be really cool to add backup for launcher icons, shortcuts and widgets.
I offer to translate in arabic.

Every backup only fully works for the ROM you're using at that moment. What you can do is to make a backup with the name of every ROM you use to flash. Sorry for bad english
trasteando...
Do you have a list of which settings are backed up?
Future feature proposal: have an Advanced option that let's you select the individual settings to be backed up. Or, an Advanced option to select the individual settings to be restored.
Typos courtesy of my LG G2 (D803) running Mahdi-ROM.
Lovely tool! I would love to see an encryption option, but anyways: Nice job.
I'do offer to translate the app into Dutch if you want. I will try my best.
Kind regards,

Thanks I figured that was the case but thought I'd ask any way. I'll probably give this a test in the next couple of days when I upgrade my rom. Even if I have to create a backup for each rom I use this will still save me about 10-15 mins per setup since even on a weekly upgrade I still can't bring myself to do a dirty flash.
Don't apologize for your English. You speak it better than I speak Spanish and any reasonably intelligent English speaker understood you perfectly.

Thank you very much! I also found this thread via Google+ and I'm happy I did. I was just about to flash an update to a ROM and was dreading TB's interface. I still can't get that bulky app to function to my liking. Your application looks promising! Can't wait to test it. Thanks, again, for your development and your community contribution. Hope to have some feedback for you soon.

MOD EDITED
SuperOSR V2 for dream/sapphire with gingerbread 2.3.5 of [email protected]
Special thanks to people in the group [email protected]
This ROM (not a mod) has been developed entirely from the source of Google and very little of Cyanogen framework.
Thanks to Cyanogen and all his staff for the contributions received.
You must have done the hack of the 15 megs.
I strongly recommend total SDCARD format with three partitions, SDCARD 7.4 GB / 512MB EXT3 / LinuxSwap 64MB, you can do from the recovery, but remember to save before your photos and music. This is because directories are created in the sdcard called Android which are recorded in the data I have found to negatively affect the ROM. PROVEN!,
This is only required in case we want to have Apps2SD or Linux Swap, if you're not going to make any of these things is not necessary to format the sdcard with three partitions.
Steps:
1 .- It is necessary to WIPE.
2 .- Restart in recovery mode and install the downloaded file. Zip.
4 .- In the welcome screen, when you ask for the google account, it is recommended to skip the configuration giving omitted. This is because the phone autologin to market and begin to automatically download all the applications you had installed and it saturates the terminal because it does hit, plus it puts the background image of the previous ROM. Thus will you do a clean install.
5 .- End indicate the values that you requested and once in the launcher set the phone to your liking.
6 .- Very attentive to you to do restorations of any type or ROM program against which you can have problems. Special attention to restore configuration data of any kind. Do it slowly to make sure everything is properly restored.
7 .- Then you enter the market and a free application to refresh any of you have installed on the terminal.
The new integrated SupSetup activation brings on-demand applications in paragraph extra applications, can enable applications that interest you and the ROM is in "Lite" (without extra applications installed) for each to choose your best settings.
It is important before you set up Google account to be activated from the applications before SupSetup so that when you connect to the servers to configure your Google account, they come into the download.
Apps2SD
The Apps2SD is to pass the phone's applications both current and future to the ext3 partition, it is imperative not to spend any way to activate application to sd or change the location internal to external applications. Simply activate it from the SupSetup without touching any settings in the Spare Parts or applications from the ROM settings.
Do not turn ON Apps2SD without at least once you have restarted
NEWS
- All the features that come standard with SuperTeam ROM.
- Android 2.3.5.
Applications
- You can install more applications from SupSetup extras.
- Google Apps (GMail, Maps, Search, Voice Search, Talk, Market, Youtube).
- Wireless Tether.
- Terminal emulator.
Support:
All incidents that you have will be answered only if they are listed in movilzona, is not supported either by twitter or other forums. Thanked is and sometimes even becomes obliged to send along with details of the problem the phone log to this there are several on the market apliaciones, such as the application https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jtb.alogcat.
If I can not reproduce the error on my phone without moving your log file (which is where the error) I can not give solution.
NOTE: I do not want the file contents as a post. This file is very large and do not want to saturate the forums with long messages, I just want the file itself.
pardon the translation, is translated in http://translate.google.com/

I've been working on an app called AppExtractor. It's meant to be a companion app to ROM Manager in that it allows you to restore individual apps, data, SMS / MMS messages, Contacts / Call Logs, and Wifi Settings from your ROM Manager backups.
AppExtractor is compatible with backups created by ClockworkMod Recovery 5 as well as previous versions of CWM Recovery.
If you are interested, you can find it on the Market here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.handyandy.appextractor
For those who cannot install from the Market, I have included the APK in this post.
Please let me know what you think!

The backup file format recently changed. Previously, the backup files were ".img" extension (YAFFS) and with the newer versions of CWM Recovery, backups are saved as ".ext3.tar" extension.
I really hope this was what I've been looking for so long!
Does your original post mean that some kind of output from your app can be used to flash back programs and their settings from the CWM?
If yes, I'd like to make a request.
More often than not, the apks are updated, but the settings are generally the same. Is it possible to give an option to just restore the settings of the selected apps only without restoring the apps? I saw that this is possible through your program ... want to know if its possible through the CWM.
Thanks

Ok, so I got it from the market and now I understand a bit more. The idea is great. However, although it appears to be free, it is not. The user has to pay for SMS/MMS. The user is limited to restoring just 5 apps.
Fine, so, its limited! Maybe you should rename it as "lite" as otherwise it could be misleading.
Wanted to try this, mainly for sms/mms retrieval from old backups (went from sense rom to miui and sms/mms weren't carried over...
I can't seem to buy it from market either. Says an error occured?

Hi Jones,
Would it be possible for you to include an option to for eg. extract from the rom image the settings or the apk or both (as chosen by the user) and recompile it into a new image (only the setting or only apk or both)?

Just downloaded it and will try it out soon. I would greatly appreciate it if you would put what the limitations are in the free version and/or what is unlocked with the key in your description.
Great work I've been looking for something like this.
Awesome!
I have been looking/waiting for app like this so that I can flash apps straight from CWM after flashing rom instead of having to install Titanium backup and the restore apps from within Android.
Much appreciated. Will give feedback once tested.
I'm hoping this works on 4EXT as well? AFAIK that's also based on CWM and support both yaffs and tar backups~

MIUI_Au Changelog (Since 2.3.2):
Official Changelog here
Updated to Sandvold 0.4.4.4.1 (fixes camera preview, multitouch)
Upgraded lockscreen, MIUI Gallery and alarm clock, reorganised Settings menu
NOT WORKING
Camera can be unstable
FM Radio not included
Contact numbers sometimes not matched properly
USB Tethering
Probably more
REQUIREMENTS
Requires an ext3/4 partition to be the second partition on your SD Card.
Will install on any HBOOT, and symlink system folders to /data if necessary
Only stock HBOOT, Data++ and Sense can perform data wipe without rom reinstallation, due to system files needing to be moved for other HBOOT's.
INSTALLATION
If you restore apps or data using Titanium or MIUI Backup, there may be problems due to changes from GB to ICS. If you do have any, restore apps one by one to find the culprit.
Make sure you have an ext3/4 partition setup as the second partition on your sd card, otherwise you will have very little memory to use as data2ext won’t work.
Please understand this is a very beta version, so expect errors.
There is no FM radio, so please don’t bother complaining.
Any errors, feel free to post but do not demand a solution.
Flash at your own risk.
If you experience any serious problems, we recommend you do a full wipe/factory reset then flash again.
SUPPORT INSTRUCTIONS
I will NOT be responding to any more posts about problems unless you can prove/state the following:
You have NOT restored any apps from a backup from a GB rom.
You have tried a full wipe/factory reset.
You have used google to try to find the answer yourself.
You have read the comments to see if the problem is already reported.
You have read the entire post and followed the instructions provided.
If the problem is related to apps FC’ing, you provide a logcat of the FATAL EXCEPTION.
If the problem is low memory, post the output of “df” and “mount” commands in terminal.
Do NOT ask for features/apps from MIUI GB to be included. They are when they are.
Any other reports, unless I deem them to be reasonable, will be ignored. Take no offence, but if I don’t answer (and trust me I’m very good at answering the questions promptly unless I’m asleep) it means you haven’t done the above, so read properly and try again.
Do NOT ask about any device other than the HTC Desire GSM.
Completely unofficial port. For more information and downloads, proceed to MIUI_Au.
Awesome, will be giving this a go!
Been using from first release and I love it!
Lennox is doing a great job!
Am I weird, where's the menu to setup WiFi?
Well looks good, but going back to Gingerbread since this is still Beta.
Good luck!
Never noticed that. Long press on wifi icon in notifications works as always.
Edit: Its under Wireless Networks > More... > Tethering and portable hotspots
Haven't fixed all the translations yet, been more worried about getting everything working.

You don't have the Superuser app any more, if that's what you mean. Superuser and app permissions can be found in the "Security" app now.

enter bootloader by pressing vol up key while pressing power key
and then connect to PC when it shows bootloader without any errors

This is ROM Settings Backup, a tool for saving your ROM settings and restoring them after flashing (similar) ROMs and/or wiping /data.
You put really much time in setting up your StatusBar, NavigationBar, Lockscreen, Privacy, etc and want to make a clean flash of your personal ROM? No problem, just do a backup of all your settings and restore them after flashing.
CAUTION: This app only works with AOSP based ROMs!
You want to translate this app into your language? Download the strings.txt, translate it and upload it to me. Thanks

OK...so far so good...Im on CyanogenModX for note2 (n7100) The app works ok...but I think maybe you can add an option to save or restore config per rom....like CM11, AOSPA, CarbonRom, C-ROM, MIUI....etc...cuz not all the roms have all the options...if you can make an option to name the backup...so If I want to make a CM11 backup....I can named CM11backup.....
Thnaks in advance.

It's pretty hard to get the current running ROM name, but I can add an option to type in the name of the rom. I think this is a good possibility, isn't it?

ROMs typically are using the same flags for settings, so if you import for example CM Settings to AOSPA the settings for the same features are being taken over to AOSPA. Those features which are on AOSPA but not on CM are just stock (the stock values are being taken).
And the third scenario: Feature which are present on CM but not on AOSPA are saved but will not be touched or anything else. So there should not be any issues..
But that's just my sight, can vary somehow.
Uploaded new Beta:
- added option to choose ROM
- added option to share backup
- updated BackupManager
- allow Hot-Reboot only when Busybox is available
- several fixes
@Cocolopes
I tried to restore the backup I made on my Nexus4 (MahdiROM running) to my SGS(CM11 running)... all the settings have been overtaken, no issues so far.
