The keyboard from L works fine on KitKat. But Talon was designed specifically using L so definitely wouldn't work on anything but L.

The keyboard has a material design theme. Material design itself is different in that it has animations and other visuals that only run on Android L.
Developers can create apps with a theme for both Android L (material design) and ICS+ in one package. Read about it here: https://developer.android.com/preview/material/compatibility.html

I'm aware it's a theme, but it is on the list up top, so worth pointing out frankly. And if the keyboard is in the list, I'm pretty sure the OP was just gathering a list of apps that have the Material style, otherwise it wouldn't be there.
Also, weren't slides, docs, sheets etc all updated to Material deisng style recently?

Great thread. May I suggest that you keep the sections relatively pruned so the list becomes manageable and readable. Not sure how you would decide whether an app deserves making the list or dropping off.
A few I'd like to recommend:
Angel Dialer......great/fast dialer
Folder Organiser......great way to organise apps with labels and great associates widgets
Handcent SMS......surprised this isn't there already

Hey everyone, I'm back again with more ported apps.
This time it's from the all new Chinese ROM 'SmartisanOS' for the Galaxy S3. If you have a Galaxy S3, I'd recommend checking out the ROM itself rather than using these apps, as you'll get a better experience that way.
If you haven't heard of SmartisanOS, firstly you should know it's not an entirely new OS, it's more like a UI skin like Sense and Touchwiz. It's based off Android, but isn't a fork of it like AliyunOS or anything. The creators very heavily focused on user experience, in attempts to make the UI very attractive and easy to use. The UI is very, very skeuomorphic. All applications tested ran buttery smooth.
Note that this ROM is in pre-alpha (it was only just officially released to the public on the 15th) so it's got a few bugs, even on the phone it officially supports, the Galaxy S3. Additionally, not all applications have full English support, so certain parts of them will be in Chinese.
As always, if you'd like anything from the ROM to be uploaded, just ask and I'll see what I can do.
Here's a video review (in English) of SmartisanOS by Cursed4Eva TV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aRUZwJXlHA
Smartisan Launcher:
The launcher is very, very similar in concept to the iOS homescreen. It's just a grid of apps that you can move around, and essentially you're limited to just that. There's not hardly any customization here, but then again that can be a good thing if you think about it. Unfortunately, lack of customization takes a pretty big hit - for example, you can't change the wallpaper. For some very odd reason, this launcher requires a loading screen whenever it boots up, similar to other 3D launchers like Next Launcher and TSF Shell (but this launcher isn't 3D).
Features -
- Up to four icons on the dock
- Custom transition effects for opening apps and general inteface
- Batch app movement support
- Unlimited homescreens
- Hide homescreen support
- Lock homescreen support (crashes for me, however)
- Gorgeous UI
- Drag-to-uninstall support

Clock
This is a truly gorgeous clock app. Note that this, along with the other apps, don't give widgets. This clock is filled to the brim with fancy animations, sound effects, and special features, like a world clock, alarm, stopwatch, and timer.
Features -
- World clocks (system time set as default; you can add more but the clocks are only available in Chinese)
- Alarm clock
- Stopwatch (with lap support)
- Timer (up to 60 minutes)
- Fancy animations for all sections of the app. For example, whenever you switch tabs the clocks will reanimate into position.
- Fancy sound effects for most sections of the app. For example, turning on the timer will make a ticking sound. The ticking sound stops when you leave the application, though (and the timer still continues), so it won't be annoying or anything.
- Gorgeous UI
Clock download link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3lIkuqWWrmqNnl4SXFWbHhEWEU/edit?usp=sharing

Notes
This is a pretty basic Notes app but just like all the other SmartisanOS apps is really nice looking, but unfortunately (for me, anyway, this might not happen on your phone) the app didn't fit the screen. This app also has integrated sharing support.
Features -
- Swipe to delete support
- Search support
- Sharing support via SMS, email, text, and Sina Weibo
- Gorgeous UI
Notes download link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3lIkuqWWrmqdW40bGJFN25HZVk/edit?usp=sharing
Pictures:
Calculator
This is a very simple calculator without support, unfortunately, for more advanced calculations like the stock Android calculator. It's based off old basic calculators, and even has that click-and-clack sound to boot whenever you tap the buttons!
Features -
- Sound effects whenever you click the buttons for a more realistic effect
- Gorgeous UI
Calculator download link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3lIkuqWWrmqMkI5c3o5ZkVHTEU/edit?usp=sharing

Hope you all like these. :good: I'll be on the lookout for updates to SmartisanOS and I'll update this thread accordingly for new apps and other goodies.

Launcher wouldn't open on my Note2. Clocked worked well though. It is a great looking click with just enough animation. Unfortunately the snooze/dismiss screen is too simple for me. Yes, I had this problem with the little gear icon when in the zoomed-out view with all the icons. I had to click the gear just under where it was located. I presume this is either because:
1. The ROM itself is still in pre-alpha so the problem is for any phone, not just ones it wasn't intended for (meaning, then, that the Galaxy S3 has the same problem)
2. Wrong resolution and screen size is confusing the app.
Either way there isn't a easy fix to it, for now anyway.

Why don't you download from the Smartisan web site: http://www.smartisan.com/apps/launcher ? The launcher works perfectly under Slim7 on bacon, for example.
"Time to Rebel"
With the recent changes Facebook has made to make us use the Facebook Messenger app, ive taken a next step to start building a Java based Chromeview built specifically for Facebook allowing you to message users the way its always been. In a nutshell, Fellow is a WebApp based on Facebook Mobile.
Here it is
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.NxIndustries.myfacebookfree
With the recent update, I focused on Media uploading and Java scripting and for the majority of Kitkat devices, it works but for some, you arnt so lucky...
Facebook Lockscreen
I actually found this activity on accident while developing my Launcher for the HTC M8 and figured i'd make a small app out of it.
Set Facebook Lock is a small application that allows a backdoor to use the Facebook Home's lockscreen without the need of the actual Home application and allows any device to use it bypassing Facebook's device detection. (I do not actually know if it works for all devices but worth a shot)

Awesome app mate, love it so much that bought ad free version...
2 suggestions though:
- Make arrows on top bar smaller and plain should blend better with material ui... It seems a bit off to my eyes.
- Make refresh button movable and excludable (is that even a word?) like Facebook chat heads, because it gets in the way,and going to menu and enabling/disabling it is a bit troublesome, therefore moving it somewhere else as needed seems easier... You could even make it hide like halo from paranoid

Il take this into consideration! This is what i like to here.
I agree on icons as basically their place holders for now, need to make it more material like. Need to make a material style for kitkat users. Floating Action Button was an experimental thing. I didnt know how people would react to it at first but its one of the things that make this webapp unique.

Cool! I quite like the floating refresh button, if you make it movable, it would be perfect!
Maybe add a full screen option?
That's very good work mate! I also use your launcher
This app is amazing, I'm really hate the official Facebook app and Fellow is perfect for me.
Just a few kilobytes, and a million times better than the official app, great work!
The only thing that bothers me is the loading bar (Image at attachments), If you can place it a little higher it will be awesome.
That was bothering me as well over few days after using it lol. Il surely look into it.
Great, hope you will fix it soon.
I left a review at the Play Store (Free version), look into it
Gonna be working on an update soon and taking everyone's feedback into consideration. I will be adding a more material feel to this as well as transparency options for kitkat+ users.
Hey guys, i extracted this from the ASUS Nexus 2012 version. It has the fancy material design makeover. Works without a flaw on Kitkat 4.4.4. It also gives the white look on the Google Now Launcher (supposedly called velvet). It is unhindered.

Hey guys, i extracted this from the ASUS Nexus 2012 version. It has the fancy material design makeover. Works without a flaw on Kitkat 4.4.4. It also gives the white look on the Google Now Launcher (supposedly called velvet). It is unhindered.

The one which has been posted till yet with the material design makeover is version 4.26. This one is 4.28.
What are the changes in this over one posted earlier? Any changelog?
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda premium
Thanks!!!
Installed on 2014 moto g and get constant google search force closed errors
Have a feeling when updating velvet.apk you need two files (maybe gms core)
Cheers
I didnt install the 4.26 version hence cant supply you with the changelog.
All noticeable that i can see is that there are:
material design makeover
the hamburger slide draw
the GNL integration with the visual changes
i dont use google now but perhaps there maybe some noticeable changes with the reminders available in the slide navigation drawer.

Hi friends, i wanna introduce you a new launcher named Evie.
First of all i have to say its interface and app icon is really so attractive
* It has got swipe-down search feature that you can search your installed apps, apps on the google market, contacts (this feature is not working on some devices but i am in touch with the team and they said they will take care of this - I think it is something about CM contacts library), restaurants nearby, online musics to listen, online TV shows and of course web.
* Also you can find your apps, widgets and launcher settings if you swipe from left to the right.
* You can customize grid size, per-app icon (and size) and you can hide any app from the launcher.
* And if you come from another launcher it can import your homepage easily (I came from CM13 Trebucket).
* I have been using Trebucket launcher for years and i like it because it is easy to find my apps with it but with Evie i see that Evie is better than any other and has got really awesome visual.
* You can explore it yourself for much more features that i can't remember to notice.
* And all of these features free and ad-free.
You can download it from:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=is.shortcut
Notes: 1- The search widget at screenshot is from the app but the weather widget is not. It is from XWidget for Android. If you wanna try this, its name is "Pocket Clock Weather HD" and you can search by XWidget.
2- I am not the developer of Evie or any other app.
hi good job, great launcher, can you translate it into Polish or give me instructions to do that, thanks a lot

There are already lots of introduction to do that.
example1= Android Localizer
example2= there are Android Apps like MT Manager (Not on Play Store) and Apk Editor
But keep in mind, editing is not allowed for some apps due to license restrictions. So ask to the developer for permission.

You are welcome
Really quick and simple launcher. But it can't stack apps into the folder in main menu.
