dear..that`s impossiable..try anther way..
The question if one day I'll replace my Phone to new one (also Samsung), how can I connect to new Phone without lose Gear information ?
Alternative question how to move Gear information from old Phone to new Phone?
Can GALAXY Apps ( "Purchased") copy also Gear 2 information ?
I saw an answer here, not sure if won't ask Gear reset:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791676
Phone with new ROM (after full wipe) is kinda like new phone..
So if it won't ask Gear Reset, it can be an answer " How to connect Gear 2 with another device without reset".
I mean , if another device with same gmail/samsung account, user can load on another device "Purchased"
apps and no Gear Reset ?
Alternative way:
I have updated my S4 ROM (rooted) few times with Full Wipe.
I used Titanium backup and restored just download apps and also all gear apps.
I got many gear errors, so I re installed "Gear Manager", but somehow data kept and it didn't ask
for Gear Reset.
So maybe solution for "How to connect Gear 2 with another device without reset" is to copy Titanium
Backup (just Gear stuff) to other device and restore , just make sure gmail/samsung account are same..

To answer this question for you, if you are using the same account as the account you used to purchase the app with, it should be available to download on your other your other Samsung devices you may be using. So long as you login to the Galaxy App store using the same account as you did to purchase it.

Some ideas:
https://review.tizen.org/git/?p=fra...61208257ea00aa5c;hb=refs/heads/tizen_2.3#l468
That assignment is left uncommented in the bt-service the gear2 ships with.
EDIT: But we can patch it out!
This is the original bt-service file in my NE5 firmware:
22151f97a2b2fcd8459f0f195aae90ae /usr/bin/bt-service
Now get a hexeditor and patch 16-bit instruction at 0x20364 with a NOP, aka 0xBF00.
That is, change byte 0x20364 with a 00, and byte 0x20365 with a BF.
Using cmp to check the changes:
Code:
$ cmp -l bt-service.orig bt-service.new
131941 161 0
131942 321 277
Note that if you replace the file you will need to ensure the right permissions and Smack labels are set correctly. I.e.
Code:
chsmack -e bt-service -a bt-service /usr/bin/bt-service
With this, I can pair as many devices I want with the Gear. Note I do not use Gear Manager, maybe it gets crazy about this.
I've been trying to replace many of the com.samsung.* stuff with the Tizen 2.3 org.tizen.* stuff but it quickly becomes a mess. That patch is much cleaner...
Need
I have no clue what you meant a I've with all that and how but I need to know, does that mean you found a way to pair the watch and not lose the faces?
Backup
Q: How do I back up data stored on Gear Fit2 Pro?
A: Back up your Gear’s data on your connected mobile device.
1. On your mobile device, open the Apps screen and tap Samsung Gear.
2. Tap SETTINGS and select About Gear.
3. Tap Back up and restore.
4. Tap Back up data. The data will be saved in Samsung Cloud.
If you previously backed up your Gear data, you can restore it to your Gear now.
This may take some time depending on the size of the files.
· Music saved on the Gear will not be backed up.
· Health management apps data will be automatically saved on the connected mobile device’s
Samsung Health app.

Is there any way/patch/mod that I can use to pair with another device without having to reset the Gear 2? I do not have any Android devices other than the Gear 2.

don't think so. even if you delete the app on your phone then reinstall it, you have to wipe the gear 2. it's so stupid.
Hi, I received a Gear S2 for Xmas. A very nice gift. But i have a very big problem, no of my phones (iphone, huawei) or tablet (android) give me the possibility to connect with it.
I read about a new Iphone Gear manager version, but till now I didn't find it.
May anyone of you give me any suggestions to connect my device? I need to setup the time zone at least to put it on my wrist.
Many thanks in advance.
Have a nice day

Hello Marco
I have G2 Gear and iPhone 6 but I can't make connection between them. Can You help me?
Halid
I had this same exact issue, any info would be appreciated
Currently Gear S2 is not compatible with iphone. Supposedly a gear manager app for IOS will be available soon.
Always good to check compatibility prior to purchase

Hi here is my skype: mpichi
I already asked you to accept me in skype, so we can talk freely about it.
Many thanks
I ve resolved this problem buying an galaxy s4 like second phone ( me too have like first one the iphone 6 )
Hello,
i'm sorry but today i have not many times :crying: , because i went to shop because my gear s2 was damaged (water in ) and they substituted it with new.
For connect my s2 with my Meizu M2 Note (first time), i used this method:
1) Phone BT ON
2) Power on S2
3) Open Samsung Gear Manager (that will search for S2 and will install plugin); when it found your gear, gear will says "setting up" or something similar. If it freeze with this message... go to 4
4) On your phone, go to settings-BT and un-link your gear s2 from BT device. Power off your phone BT and reboot it.
5) After reboot, re-activate BT and try to link it with gear (from setting-bt on your phone, NOT from samsung gear); confirm linking request on your phone and on yous gear.
6) Try to re-open gear manager.
I made this step something like 50/55 times (sad but true); sometimes on point "5" i link in my phone settings, sometimes i tried to link directly from samsung gear manager.
Tell me if this method works for you too, be patient and remember: if you have not samsung phone, BT have a lot of problem, so you have to reboot phone, gear, BT, a lot of times.
If you update your gear and connect for first time (so your gear show app and not "connect to gear manager"), i'll give you method for connect very fast without reboot and similar (but you have to pass the first activation now).
See you
Marco

You have to factory reset the watch I believe.
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
you can add another phone. Just disconnect the watch from the previous phone. INstall the Gear app on the new phone (Android) and make a Bluetooth connection between the new phone and the watch. If the connection is made you have to open the gear app on the new phone and connect it (right hand side top of the screen). In my case did the watch do a (light) reset inbetween. This does not matter. It connects nicely and will remain connected to the new phone.
I have just bought the Gear s3 and would like to connect with my Samsung A9 Pro (sm-A9100), however, when I checked the passkey for both sides, the s3 and a9 pro keep connecting but no further....
Does anyone has such situation? and what can I do....
ps. My A9 pro was rooted and some defaulted samsung app were forzened before.

I initially had the same problem too and I couldn't solve it at first. It was a pain before I was able to connect to my rooted Nexus 6p.
What I did was made sure that all permissions of the Samsung Gear app on the phone are all turned on. Then I just setup the Gear S3 as as standalone/offline mode (do not connect it to the phone yet), then once you are done with the initial setup - I had to do a factory reset again (From Settings > Gear info > Reset Gear - yup you heard it right, factory reset it again). After the factory reset, make sure you DO NOT connect to the phone via Gear S3. Set it up as Standalone/offline mode again, then connect to WIFI - run an UPDATE on the watch, then open your Gear app in the phone then try to connect. I'm not sure if this method will work for you but it did for me.

Thank you for your sharing.
I have followed your procedures, and my case is that after reset my gear s3, it said my firmware is the latest version, and when tried to connect with phone, it still pending in the connecting screen....
Hello
I've been given a GW 4 recently. However, I have a not very new, but still working phone, which is a Redmi Note 4 (mido). At the beginning I've had no problem with the connection. I was able to install directly from the store the main apps needed: Samsung wereable (old gear) and g. watch 4 plugin. And it connected perfectly. Nevertheless, some other apps needed (samsung health and health monitor) are not available for my phone (due to android version). So, to try them, I reseted the watch and connected it to a newer Samsung Phone that I was lended. I had everything working ok but it was just to test all the functions temporaly since I'm planning (but not yet) to buy a new phone and I returned the Samsung phone to his owner.
For these reason I tried to connect the watch to redmi again, but now it's impossible to make it connect. There must be some issue with the phone or something because it detects the watch sometimes, but it happens that bluetooth given code to connect is random and does not match the one that appears in the watch, or it provides a new code in the phone again while it is already in the connecting procedure, things like that. Normally connection hangs when it reaches 80% or so.. I tried a few things:
-hard reset in the watch (via recovery)
-uninstalling and install the samsung apps
-installing older versions of the apps
-reseting network settings (it cleans bluetooth list of devices)
-cleaning bluetooth app cache and changing bt device name-
-Some other things that I cant remember to no avail
Any idea on how to proceed without factory reset the phone?
Thank you
Do you have more than one Google Account on the phone? I had to sign out of them all bar my main one and it worked.
Hello, I did not realise about this issue so I went through all the possible google accounts that may have included the device, and I remove it from all of them (4 in total)
But still no connection. The best I can achive is "Please finish the config in smartphone" in the watch and stuck at 88% of "preparing your watch" in the smartphone. But even when this happens it seems like Samsung wereable feels like the watch disconnects and it asks again to search for a device and to pair with a different bt code, while samsung watch 4 plugin stays 88% progress of connection.
It's quite strange. It must be some problem with the plugin.
After a while it says in the watch that connection was not possible with the phone. And it restablish factory values itself.
