Recently, I've been making a lot of boot animations for my Nexus 7, and other devices, however I have ran into a problem with my Moto G.
Problem:
I realize that with Motorola Boot services, boot animations are handled a completely different way, and with MP4 files. This is a problem, because I have been making my boot animations with Boot Animation Factory and Photoshop CS5.
Question:
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks,

now that i finally got clockwork working im trying to change the boot image. i have LG Ally so first is the LG logo then the VERIZON splash screen then the android logo. i flashed a boot.zip thing called matrix and it said sucessfull but it doessnt show up at boot...my other question is if i delete or replace the lg and verizon images will is mess up my OS or can i boot without them... do i need to replace them manually with a certain type of file or will a .gif or .jpeg or something work in its place?
Did you flash a custom Rom? Most of those zips are built for a specific ROM, so unless you are running that custom ROM, it probably will not work. Also it sounds like you are referring to the actual boot splash screen and not the boot animation, the difference being the animation appears after the splash screen. With a custom ROM, what will happen is the ROM will retrieve boot animations from a folder first, from which you can put your custom animation and boot splash. If nothing resides in that file, it will default to the boot animation on the phone, at least that is my understanding.
unfortunatley im having trouble finding a rom for the LG Ally. all the links i find are broken and no one at the Ally section of android forums will answer any of my questions. if anyone knows the best rom to have for lg ally here id appreciate it but i doubt the download link works
I have seen this boot animation and really would like to see it run on the XT926. Looks like a port of one of the new Moto X boot animations but I can't seem to locate anyone who has it other than this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDNSBBxgfyU
I found this in the Moto X threads but it won't work http: http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446262
Any thoughts on how to get this? Its a sweet Boot animation.
Hey All!
I am having a problem with my Motorola RAZR XT907. I installed BootBox from the Google Play store. I installed a boot animation, and rebooted my phone. At first, I thought all was fine and dandy when I saw my boot animation start the way I wanted it to. The boot animation did not stop for 2 hours. I booted my device into recovery, and then performed a factory reset. The phone started up normally with the exception of the new boot logo. I re-set-up my phone and then rebooted my phone. My phone has now been repeating the boot animation for the past hour. I know that the phone is running normally, because it gets notification sounds. I cannot access it via Android Device Manager. The boot animation is running over the working OS. Please help me!!!!!

Hello nrsmac, I'm the developer of Boot Box.
The 540x960 resolution is not supported by Boot Box at this time, I believe that you tried to install an animation that was intended for a different resolution.
I assume that you already solved this issue by now, please let me know how so that I can log this for future reference (email me if possible).

Well, since I'm new, I'm not allowed to post onto development forums
I successfully rooted and installed Paranoid Android 4.4.4 stable (see thread in Moto G Original Development forum). However, I can't help but notice the graphical bug (?) with the PA boot animation. Those of you familiar with PA know the boot animation consists of a circle with rotating colors at the center of the screen.
As my Moto G boots up, not only does the normal boot animation come up, there is also a few pixels to the upper right of the center of the screen which also change colors as the main circle animation does. Is this a glitch? If so, how can it be fixed?
When I had the PA it also happened, I think that it is a bug from the rom. You can flash other animation if you prefer, or you can use the themer engine to change it.
I'm new here, so yeah.. I've rooted my HTC M8 and I've been trying to change my boot animation. I've gotten Rom toolbox, boot animations app, downloaded a few. I've tried changing them manually by going to system/customize/resource, data/local, system/media, nothing! I've tried flashing them, but when I swipe in twrp, it installs then goes dark, and restarts without success. The only one that changed by both manual and flash was a catching fire boot animation. But all I was able to change was the sound from a catching fire boot animation
I got a catching fire boot animation from here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2748536
Even though it didn't change, the catching fire zip is still there.. in system/customize/recourse
Please help I've tried everything and I'm out of ideas!!!

I have a Sprint HTC one M8. Rooted, but it doesn't have any custom roms.
