Hey Guy's,
I'm currently on WolfBreaks GingerBread 2.3.3 Build v3.7.0, and i'm wondering if there are any compatible Notification bar power control widget mods that i can apply to this rom? His ROM is nearly perfect in my opinion, the only real thing i'm missing is the convenience of being able to turn things on or off from status bar like bluetooth, gps, etc.. like i did with Cyanogen based mods in the past.
This comes in super handy especially when my phone is docked in car mode. Saves me the trouble of having to fiddle with backing out of an app to turn these features on or off while driving.
I am aware that there are apps on the market that already provide this functionality like the Widgetsoid app, however what i'm looking for is a more elagent tightly integrated mod that fits in with the overall theme and does not look like a widget was simply placed on the pull down tray.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! Also, my apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, i did search but could not find an answer to my question before posting.
I should also clarify what i mean by "tightly integrated", apps like Widgetsoid only "link" to a separate pop-up menu where the control is turned on or off. So it takes several clicks and various screens to turn something on or off. What i want is to be able to turn the various different options on or off with a single click right from the Notification bar, like you find in the Cynaogen mods.

Dude, I use widgetsoid2 since forever and no pop up windows to Turn things on or off........ even with apn.......but its not in the notification window....
Skeb, that's the problem though. When you do place Widgetsoid in the notification bar, it no longer works with a single click. I already have widgets placed on my desktop for for turning various things on or off, and they do work with a single click. However when driving with google navigation turned on for example, i want to be able to do the same by swiping down the notification tray to enable bluetooth with a single click, without having to go to the desktop to use the widget, then go back to navigation.
Try it yourself, when you place any of these widgets on your notifcation tray it will no longer work with a single click, it instead brings up a seperate pop up window.
It's not exactly a deal breaker, but if i can get the same functionality that i had using Cyanogen mod's, then i would be really happy!
Agreed, I would love that feature too!
To those who care about this feature. I just wanted to post an update that WolfBreaks's GB rom will now be introducing Cyanogen style status bar control widgets in his v4.0 rom which will be released very shortly. I also noticed that EWJet CM7 port also includes this. Nice to know i did not have to wait long to see this feature!

There is no such thing as "EWJet CM7 port",
it's still stock SE ROM, tweaked!
Just to clear out the confusion!
But yes, statubar toggles are finally here for stock ROMs!
You can use widgetsoid, its an app that adds this functionality

walidhiphop thanks, you would think people could take a second to read when the thread is still just a single page long. Not that i'm trying to diss anyone for trying to help and provide advise, but it doesn't take much effort to read a page of text either.
i wan a status bar with a feature that can adjust the screen off time..
Is there a way to hide the system bar?
maybe something like THIS?
+1
Love this idea
Try the link below for the apk........... i havent tried it on ics yet
was just going to post up as an attachment but its not frickin working on the ics browser
http://ppareit.github.com/HideBar/
it is not working for me
me either - sorry guys
From what I understand, Google pretty much locked it out completely, so it's impossible at the moment to hide the status bar. It's really annoying. :/
From the author of Honeybar: "*** Important note for ICS users: Honeybar is unsupported on ICS and will not hide the UI bar. I have examined the source for ActivityManagerService and it currently appears impossible to stop com.android.systemui"

Damn that sucks. I hope Google changes their mind or someone finds a way around this problem. I find it extremely irritating to use video and reading apps with the system bar at the bottom.
I guess I will stick with Android 3.2 for now.
There's a tweak for the Galaxy Nexus that remove the bottom bar entirely, and the person who posted it says to use ButtonSavior (on the market) to replace the soft keys. The newest AOKP rom also includes a feature to remove the navigation bar which I assume is pretty much the same as the bar on tablets.
The mod is over on RootzWiki, not sure if I can post links to it, or if it will work for the TF or could be adapted for it.
See, it's things like this that make me wonder. Why in the world would google, or anyone, lock things down so much that nobody can change anything? Disabling the status bar in honeycomb didn't do any harm. I never heard a single complaint of a bricked tablet or software problem because of disabling the status bar.
Yes!!!
Team EOS has the option the hide the system bar in an easy to use manner.
Where?

Where? Searched for "status" "system" "bar" "hide" in varying combinations as well as individually. Could you point me in the right direction. TIA.
From looking around the framework-res etc what i have seen that ICS is based on a theme called holo. Now if we could modify the framework-res and strip the black and make it transparent it should be able to be done. Decompiling it has been no problem however I am too new at themeing to provide any definite answers to recompile framework-res as i have tried but it just will not register as a proper apk. There is one issue with that however, the holo theme is involved with almost everything to do with the system. Example backgrounds for the menu system and the onscreen keyboard and a pile of other stuff plus the assorted icons would still be present back button home apps button clock and wifi.
All the edits were because my cursor diappeared.

It's part of the ROM. They don't appear to have a separate app to hide the system bar, so we have to use the full rom for now. It works the same way pre-ICS Revolver did.
Couldn't find anything on Team EOS tread about it.

With EOS for TF101 you press the power button to get the menu option to hide the status bar. The menu is shown in baseballfanz's post.

This works perfect on my A500 running ICS 4.0.3 rooted using live wallpaper - no issues whatsoever, thanks for the tip! Also really liked the gestures part of the whole thing as I can make apps launch from anywhere and probably won't even use the status bar much at from now on.
I've been on a Galaxy S with miui for some time before switching back (the Hero days ^^) to Htc.
Didn't previous sense versions 3.0 & 3.5 have dropdown toggles as seen in Miui and samsung roms?
I've searched, but found no setting to enable anything, and I miss them (the included settings widgets are just horrid). The settings button is great and all, but it still takes a bit of "diving" to find the setting I want to change.
In fact doesn't even AOSP feature toggles? or is it a cyanogen hack in ICS as well?
Some of the sense roms are starting to implement the quick settings in the notification panel at the minute, give it a wee bit of time to catch on.
Rock On!
I'm using notification toggle and it's working out quite well for me. Give it a shot until the ROMs catch up

With root thats actually all i need.
Now where is the "Solved" button on this thread?
There's also Widgetsoid if anyone's looking for an alternative.
Another vote for Notifcation Toggle. I'm able to add in shortcuts to Camera etc - apps that I want quick/easy access to.

I downloaded it via this recommendation and I love it. You can customize the widget icons a little as well as their color (both active and inactive color) Mine looks like this (wifi, gps, vibrate, brightness, torch). Exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks for the app recommendation I have been looking for something like this.
Is there a way to get AOSP tiles in notification drawer scrollable right-to-left (Touchwiz alike)?
P.S. Please dont reccomend me apps like "toggle notifications, power toggles,etc..." i dont want that, just pure AOSP tiles

I have that feature enabled in C-Rom
I guess it is also there in CM11, Search for something called as Quick Access Ribbon in Status bar/Notification Drawer Settings!
That should do it!
thanks for your help, but unfortunately i intend to stay on stock rom so this doesnt help me

Unfortunatly there is no Xposed Module for this Thing. So can't do it on stock. Wait untill such a module is developed buddy..... Sorry couldnt help!
Your good will is appreciated mate
This is in very early development stages, this ROM is very close to stock Cyanogenmod but the purpose is that is a community built ROM.
There are so many average or barely modified unofficial versions of Cyanogenmod for all sorts of devices lingering around the internet and I don't want this ROM to be the same.
Here's how you install the thing:
- Make sure you're running Clockworkmod Recovery or TWRP
- Copy Gapps and the ROM to your SDcard
- Boot into Recovery
- Do a factory reset (unless coming from another build of CM 11.0 (4.4.4))
- Flash the ROM .zip
- Flash Gapps .zip
- Reboot
Here is the very first version of our ROM, as I mentioned earlier it is basically a stock version of CM but it is there if you want to download and test.

You'll also need some form of Google Apps, pick one from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
The current feature list is:
-DPI of 260 from the stock 320
-Dual SIM support
That's all

We now have a poll at the top of this page. Please participate if you can
Just to point out that Stability, in the poll, encompasses stability and speed
Suggestion: dont add all notifications settings (Halo, Hover, Heads Up) in the same rom, i suggest you slim heads up, is very usefull for making non-intrusive options like call screen, have swipe gesture, and easy way to enable/disable/snooze it, if you add the option to change low battery popup to a notification in the status bar, will be less intrusive, slimroms dont allow enable heads up to system ui, enable it to use for usefull notifications like screenshots, slim recent is other excelent way to have a non-intrusive recents panel, is only suggestions, i see others cm11 based roms with slim roms features and work very smoth, best wishes with your new build

Christ you guys are on fire! :silly: maybe I'm just half asleep, no idea.
That's a really good idea, I will try and implement it. I do quite like it just it is a bit intrusive. I'll do my best
Just like to point out that I'm only 13 and it's actually my summer break at the moment. Try my best to get all this done but I'm learning all this at the same time aswell so just bear with me. Good job for providing all these suggestions though

Slim have great features, Heads up (their heads up way), Recent Apps, Dark UI, Floating Mode (which i dont know if it is from PA or Slim)
I like PA non intrusive background call which is like the one on Mokee
Lockscreen blur, more nav bar settings
Sent from my XT1033 using XDA Free mobile app
Maybe split view and custom progress bar options
Suggestion, linaro toolchain
Damn suggestions! You need do more slim be better, not use many things because rom will be slow with a lot features...

Thanks for take my suggestion, remenber enable slims heads up for systemui.apk, i see changelog from slimroms and in the next weekly will add changeable colors for slims recents, if you dont add it, please add the black slim recents, the white is very ugly (if you add it will be better for use with cm theme system)
Edit: is a great idea from vbdss user add floating windows like paranoid android, launch for heads up(enable/disable) or from recents (long press for display option). That will help for less intrusive use, and improve multitasking
App Side Bar, App Circle Bar and Disable FC Notifications feature.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I got some very nice ideas from @DeHuMaNiZeD via PM and I want to make this ROM as clean as possible. Nice for joining the discussion though, I'll look into wether those features work in the mix of the other stuff I'll be implementing
