Real Racing 3 force closing - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys! I have dual sim moto g xt1033.Since the LeMans update Real Racing 3 is force closing so many times. Especially when I click on servicing. I just want to know if anyone else is facing similar problem. I have not tested the latest update released just now. So if anyone else is facing the same problem let me know.
Edit : I need to reboot whenever it fcs on clicking servicing.

My RR3 FC some times randomly after that LeMans Update too.. But whenever it starts doing it, I and the majority of the background tasks, or I do a system reboot, and it goes back to normal.
But I also changed my system runtime to ART too, days prior the LeMans update. And I noticed some FCs after I've done it. My game runs better with ART anyway!

My friend has xperia L but he doesn't face that much of problem. I don't know why it is happening.

Yeah same here. On ART it was force closing so often. Don't know this too.

Works a charm on PA final build. Graphics are the best ive seen on any previous phone..

Btw , i'm still using ART runtime on stock 4.4.2. I didn't get the 4.4.3 or the 4.4.4 OTA update.

I'm getting force close on NFS Most Wanted though.. Opens.. Goes to the start and then Force Closes :/
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I updated to 4.4.4 and now whenever I click on servicing it just force closes even after rebbot. Anyone else facing this problem on 4.4.4.On 4.4.2 the problem used to be solved by rebooting. But now it always force closing. Need help

I found a work around for NFS might work with Real Racing..
Go into what ever is making your app force close and quickly press either home or recents then go back into the app. That what I have to do to open NFS

Let's say after I restart the nexus , I can go through a couple of hours browsing Google chrome fine , then randomly the back button doesn't work along with the keyboard not popping up , I'm guessing this is a ram issue??? Is it the actual nexus phone problem or is it the kernel... ????

you guessed wrong. It has something to do with xposed/gravity box. I had the same issues last time. Try disabling xposed/gravity completely and try again. if problem still persists, try getting a logcat.
I remember having the same exact issue with cataclysm rom also...
Forgot to add the back button and keyboard will sometimes work and sometimes doesn't , its really weird and random , I'll try to see if disabling xposed module will work

Wow I just uninstalled xposed module along with gravity box and my ram usage has gone down from 70% to 30%

With Android unused memory is wasted memory. Judge lack of memory by how laggey your UI gets when switching between apps previously opened. The lag would be caused by Android having to load a previously removed app due to insufficient memory.

Strange.. are you running any other mods? DPI change?
Omg I finally found a thread that addresses this problem.
I have greenify installed, but no Xposed.
I was previously on BeanStalk, but changed over to Vanir just yesterday, problems happened on both ROMs.
Keyboard will not open, apps crash, soft buttons not working.

What? I'm running greenify without xposed on Omni rom. Don't have any issues at all.

Weird problem huh... Sometimes a lock/relock solves the problem, while the other times the entire phone is unusable until rebooted.
Launcher will crash (but no crash dialogue, it just restarts itself), cannot close background apps as recent button is not working, cannot enter settings either (through menu button).

I'm having this same exact issue on cataclysm, franco r35. It just started happening the past few weeks, it's like the launcher re-starts and re-draws every time I go to the home screen. Or apps will crash but not get the FC message, just go back to the wallpaper and wait for the launcher to re-draw. When this stuff is happening, it's like the back button loses its functionality. Rebooting doesn't always help, sometimes I have to delete cache and dalvik cache. Then things will be fine for a day or two and it'll start again.
I was looking to go with a ROM that's as close to stock as possible, except I really want lockscreen target ring and customizable quicksettings, but now it seems like it's not a cataclysm issue so maybe I'll sit tight for a while. When the phone is working - which is a majority of the time - it's super smooth and responsive like always, so I'm not too anxious to make any changes.
Im pretty late posting a reply, but may i ask, what lcd density were you using? was it custom? cause i flashed blisspop today and having this exact issue since installing and changing my lcd density

Moto Freaks Out?

Anyone have a problem when randomly you go to the home or app screen and everything gets blocky and random? On the Boost Mobile version if that helps, will have a screenshot uploaded. Will happen 1-2x a day, and goes away with a restart or randomly.
Everything is stock, not even rooted. She's a virgin.
Why is she/he still virgin dude.

Yesterday, after I took 2-3 photos, I closed the camera app, and it was something similar to your screenshot. I turn off the phone then on, and everything is fine now. I must do a factory reset but I'm too lazy to search a good backup app...
It happened to me and I just kill the launcher, then everything goes back tp normal.
Mine is fully stock.

To avoid the issues I'm currently experiencing. Moto has really low levels of bloatware, so I didn't see a need to install anything extra. I will try another launcher and see if this persists.

[Q] Google search update lag

I have had a look online to see if others are having my problem but can't seem to find anything on it so thought i would ask here.
A few months back i created a thread regarding lag issues on my nexus 5 more specifically app drawer opening/closing lag, well after flashing back to stock, unrooting and factory resetting a few times the lag was still there UNTIL i turned off auto update apps and the lag dissapeared so i figured it must be an app so after a while of trying to find out which one it is i found out it was the updated google search causing the lag for some reason so i uninstalled the updates and the lag dissapeared and now i have had auto update off for a couple of months.
Well now i want to turn auto update all apps on again and update the google search app to get ok google again but again after updating the lags back so had to delete it once again, anyone got any ideas on why this is happening? I have already tried rebooting the phone which didn't make a difference so i wiped dalvik and cache again this didn't make any difference
Bump

Your post is long, and confusing. Are you experiencing lag when opening app drawer? Are you saying that updating any Google services through the play store causes your phone to lag? Can you tell us what's your phone set up?

Yes the lag is there when opening and closing the app drawer. The only google service that causes this is the google search app, when i uninstall it through play store it just uninstalls the updates so i lose the ok google hotword feature but the lag is completely gone and the phone is buttery smooth, as soon as i update it again the lag starts.
I'm on a rooted nexus 5 4.4.2 running a stable release of faux kernel that's it everything else is stock

is it possible for you to recreate the lag again, and check your processes to see if there's anything running in the background that might cause the lag.

The lag is still there as i have updated google search so the app draw is still stuttering. I checked running applications on settings but there doesn't seem to be anything abnormal but i don't really know what i am looking for though

I'm referring to any apps, specifically from Google, that's running in the background. It might be taking up a large chunk of your processing power or downloading something, causing your phone to lag. Are you running Dalvik or Art?

Can you switch to ART and see if the problem persist? If you are not comfortable switching, you could flash the Dalvik+Bionic library optimization. I found it very smooth, compared to stock Dalvik.
Also, scale down Windows animation and Transition animation to .5x in developer options.

That's a crude way of putting it, but yes. In a way we're all trying to mask our phone's shortcomings. Seeing that even though we all have the same phones, yet some are better than others, some encounter more problems than others, some have better battery life than others. You can't come in here and expect your phone to be perfect with no problems. Sometimes we find a fix, sometimes we find a workaround. It's hard to pinpoint the problem without much in-depth troubleshooting, but if it "fixes" the problem, than that should be sufficient for now right?
(damn I feel like a philosopher)

But since they are all mass produced shouldn't they all produce the same results? I mean they aren't exactly living beings like us some being more successful than others lol so would you say mine is actually a faulty device? I've just switched to ART so will test it a little, i didn't switch earlier due to ART not being fully stable and ready not sure if that's changed now

If that was the case, this whole forum would not exist. Every phone is different, even if they're the same model. We tweak it and mod it to our liking, and we never stop trying to bring it to its optimum ability.
Yes ART is unstable to some apps and mods. Before rooting my phone, I was on ART for a few months on stock. It was very smooth, and surprisingly didn't have any incompatibility issues. After root, in order to have Xposed, I had to switch to Dalvik. There was definitely some lag issues. I also experienced them with the app drawer, similar to yours. But to circumvent that, I flashed the Dalvik+Bionic libraries and it was as smooth, if not smoother, than it was while I was on stock ART.

So your saying that let's say we both bought the same phone in this case the nexus 5 and when we turn it on it's brand new so nothing installed on it yet but one phone has lag but the other is as smooth as butter would you consider that perfectly normal or would you think something is wrong?
I have been running ART for a few hours now and unfortunately the lag is still there, once i uninstall the google search app updates it goes back to being as smooth as butter same as when i was on dalvik but like dalvik once i install it again the lag comes back

Delay between a tap on the recent apps button and the actual output of that action

Okay i have noticed this weird problem since quite some time...There is this weird delay, of about a duration just less than a second, i face between my tap on the recent apps button and that action's actual output...Often this delay dissappears but the animations which take you into the recent apps window remain unbearably choppy...Everything else like opening apps, scrolling, playing games, etc seems to work just fine...I faced this issue with the stock GPE rom on my XT1033 and a bunch of custom roms like cm11 , NX5 experience and gummy...I tried using custom kernels to fix the issue but to no avail...I was wondering whether it is a bug or a general delay which everybody is facing or whether i am expecting too much from our device...
Any answers/solutions would be appreciated...

It's all dependant on the amount of apps installed and stuff. If you have a lot of background processing, there might be a delay.

Well even if only one background app is running, i face this frustrating problem...I dont think that our phone is so weak that it takes ages to show one running app and give me choppy animations specifically and exclusively in this task which compels me to believe that there is something wrong and i have thus created this thread...Help would be highly appreciated...

Try to animations to 1x... ? it should be faster...
I have put them on 0.5x too but to no avail
this might help
In my case it was an app called the smart app locker that creates this bug.....uninstalled it n everything's back to normal.
