[Q] Is Cyanogenmod available for Moto G 4G LTE? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just ordered a Moto G 4G LTE and I was wondering if I could put Cyanogenmod on it. I know that it's available for the regular Moto G but I couldn't find any information about the LTE version of the phone.

Sadly no not at this moment cm is only available for the 3g versions. 4G Lte version is not supported at this point but don't worry because it will come eventually in the coming months

It's possible that it might not be part of the unified builds for CM11, as it has a different codename, "peregrine" vs "falcon" (for the 3G Moto G variants). In the meantime, don't risk bricking your device until official support comes.

Not totally... Motorola has propositely cut off miracast, so people who want to use it have to buy moto X (much more expensive)... And, even if you root it and enable miracast by editing build.prop, it can´t use wifi internet connection and miracast at the same time...
PS: It´s been prooved with cyanogenmod ROM for regular moto g that the hardware is totally capable of running miracast and wifi internet connection at the same time... It´s a pity the LTE version still doens´t have a fully functional cyanogenmod ROM...

[Q] (help) motorola xoom 3g verizon ..updated to ics wifi only os

Hi guys I need help or info about this Ive always wanted Motorola Xoom wifi only but I received Verizon one with 3g not upgraded to lte . I rooted it and installed ics for the wifi only system from Google or android website its stock ..
And works actually very well no 3g ..nothing about service I don't mind since I'm not with Verizon and not planning to go with them I just need wifi but my question is ...is it right I mean everything works good only the battery It seems like honeycomb stock verizon build battery stays longer is it because of wifi only ice version ..or something I'm not sure if somebody can help me with info
Hmmm ... me too. I have a Xoom tablet arriving this week, and it was listed as "MZ600 Xoom, LTE ready, Verizon". Which rom version should I install? I do not plan to activate it with Verizon, as I already have a dinc running CM7 nightly build 258, and waiting for ics. I would just like to run ics on the Xoom. If I don't activate the Xoom, which rom should I use, or CAN I use??
If both of you are not planning to activate with Verizon, using a Wifi only ICS ROM won't be a bad idea. I too have installed this to a friend of mine and he hasn't experienced any issues. You will not be missing out of any features because the only main difference is the 3g / LTE radio.
So anyone has seen the stock ICS for the xoom 3G version?
AFAIK wifi only is the only model to get an official update. Running the wingray build on cdma or lte is just fine.

[Q] Network settings for KitKat and T-Mobile? Stock is fine

I have a Razr HD MAXX with an unlocked bootloader, and I've done the NV edit so that it works on US GSM networks (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.).
When it's running a stock rom, all I have to do to get onto T-Mobile is go under network settings and select 'GSM/UMTS', and bam I'm connected getting great speeds. With every 4.4 rom I've tried, there are WAY more options under network settings including probably 8 options that contain GSM in one way or another, but after going through every option on the list and then turning airplane mode on/off, not a single one gives me any signal whatsoever, let alone a data connection.
There are a couple GSM options that let me search for network providers, and it finds T-Mobile and AT&T, but then selecting T-Mobile just hangs on a screen that says 'registering with T-Mobile' (what??) and eventually that times out and I still have no connection.
Sorry if this is a simple or common issue, but I haven't seen anyone else mention this on the newer roms so I'm worried it's just me.
Retack my man, I am going through the same thing with these unified builds. I've been using slimkat because they have yet to unify the moto builds. I too would very much love to be able to use some of these unified builds like PA but I can't get T-Mobile to work on them. Apparently it's because the roms are detecting the XT926 board and therefore writing the build prop for an XT926 when we need them configured for the XT925.

You may have already researched that further, but shouldn't setting it to "global" mode work for all variations? I have an XT925, and the first unified builds didn't work at all for me on GSM networks, but meanwhile, the "global" settings works great..

Patch for GSM
I don't if it will help but I found this patch online when I was having trouble with GSM networks abroad. Don't know if it did anything but wouldn't hurt I suppose. http://www.internauta37.altervista.org/how-and-patch-fully-enable-gsm-verizon-cdma-phones-android
Which CM11 build have you tried?
GSM should work on xt926 since this commit (made on March 7): https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/fad5403b62cd976f9aa8dbe14f51d0f08b1705df

I wish it would but setting it to global doesn't work. I too am using the RAZR Maxx HD with a T-Mobile Sim. I'm currently on slimkat XT925 version cause its the only thing that works.

[Q] Why is there no roms for the LTE version?

Seeing as how the LTE allows for a completely mobile tablet experience and has that additional 16Gb of storage; Not to mention the ability to text and call via Hangouts why does no developer support it?
Sure I've got mine rooted and have xposed installed and it's a great ROM, doesn't mean it's the best anyone can do. I'm just confused by the lack of 3rd party support for the LTE.
If you really go through the development section some of the ROMs for the Wifi only version are being ported.
The Shield isn't a massively cheap device, all the more for the LTE variant. I'd reckon that you'd see faster ports/rom releases for the LTE model if you bought one of the devs one. It's hard to test/develop for a device that you don't have and make sure that it will still work.
Another reason in addition to what everyone has mentioned is that the LTE one came out much later then the wifi one. So there has been a lot less time to get things working on it.

is there a chance for Pro12.2 LTE ROM?

Hi
Currently all I see are ROMs for the WiFi version and no ROMs for LTE version. Are there are chances for LTE version? Touchwiz is laggy especially 4.4.2.
Also would like to know if there is a program to develop LTE ROM that requires donations
That will be perfect...
Yeah, I would like that too, I purchased my device a few monthso ago and still, I don't know how to successfully root it, and I'm can't find no Roma for the note pro ATT LTE
Yes, same here...

Moto G and WiFi Calling

Is WiFi calling built into the Moto G/Android 5.1.1? Being on T-Mobile, coverage is terrible in my house so if I can't use WiFi calling it's a bust for me. I really want to buy the phone though.

Will the Android M update make it possible to do WiFi calling on T-Mobile or is it a hardware limitation?
I've seen some fixes tried for it but I don't think they worked. I think it's a hardware issue and that band was removed from the phone at T-Mobile's request.

I'm wondering the same thing. I heard WiFi calling will be native in Android m. Has anyone tried WiFi calling on M yet to see if it's there?

The only way to get Tmo wifi calling is with a device that has a Tmo branded rom. If you buy a device ONLY sold as unlocked, such as this one or a Nexus (prior to Nexus 6) you will not get wifi calling. It can be ported to AOSP roms, etc. if a variant of your device is sold by Tmo, but it's very very rare to find one like Moto G with wifi calling, since it isn't available to buy from Tmo, with a Tmo branded rom.
As far as I know, the only reason N6 got it at all is because of their exclusive partition dedicated to carrier additions, like apps, binaries, etc....wifi calling is also installed here, if I'm not mistaken.
Also....not to be 'that guy' but have you tried hangouts? It does work on wifi....just saying

I have a Nexus 6 on Android M and it has WiFi calling biut wasn't sure if that was cause of the ROM I'm using or if it was just in M stock since the rumor was that M will have WiFi calling built in.
I recently broke the screen on my n6 so I bought a galaxy grand prime as a backup phone cause it has band 12 and WiFi calling. If the moto g got WiFi calling with the M update I'd take my grand prime back and go buy a moto g.

There are official factory images specific to each carrier with Nexus 6. The Tmobile one includes wifi calling. I don't have one, but my sister does and when I was walking her through a factory flash once I noticed they uploaded a tmobile .img that has wifi calling.
For moto g, I'm not sure we'll get it, but there is a MM rom in the Original Development section here, so if you'd like to play around and see if you can get it working, I'm sure many people would be appreciative!
I personally use hangouts for 100% of my mobile communication, so I'm pretty indifferent about this. If I could get a Tmo plan without voice coverage on my phone I would.
The new Nexus 5X and 6P are supposed to work with TMo wifi calling out of the box, no special updates from TMo.
What about band 12 on the Moto G? Any hope for that? The reason I care for these is because as luck would have it both at home and work TMo signal is terrible. And yes, I rely on Hangouts over wifi too. The problem with terrible signal is that it also drains your battery, so you have to automate turning cell radio off and leaving just wifi on to save battery. I'd rather not do all these sometimes unreliable workarounds.
