Recently i bought a new battery for my ace plus as the old one overcharged while using usb tethering stuck at 100 for hours and then turned off my phone. After recharging it normaly the battery life was reduced greatly.
The problem with the new one is that when it completes charging after 2 hours which is normal it stays at 99% for quite a time while using it and after that it drops 1% every 2-3 minutes if im using it to browse or play games. It takes 1.5 to 2 hours gaming to turn off a fully charged battery now. The 99 stuck thing is normal ?
Calibrating and deleting battery stats didnt help.

vickyg, I've also experiencing the same issues,
I have done battery calibration several times and tried juice defender, from 5-8 hours of battery life with average usage, my battery only improved to 12-13 hour battery life,
I've figured out that, the problems wasn't with the custom ROM or stock ROM. :silly:
I've dig some research and found that it may* due certain hardware problems, not sure
(going to sent my ace plus to samsung center soon)

if you are on cm 10.1 then you have good battery life
and if you are on stock then you must change your battery

I must agree, I've been using Inspiration and cm10.1,
cm10.1 had proved longer battery life (with average usage)

that's the problem, I've reverted safely to the stock rom (month ago), found that the battery problem is still there,
I when to samsung and they said, my battery are just fine, however that time I refused to let samsung to keep my phone for further diagnose,
that's why i've been experiemental with either inspiration and cm10.1, and found that in cm10.1, I have at least 3hour+ more
well, If I've not mistaken, I still under warranty,
vickyg, do you think I should sent my phone to samsung?

Hi all. I purchased a nexus S recently, second hand. It had a 4.1.1 stock JB installed. The battery life was horrible, i hardly managed 5 hours with less than 2 hours of screen time. I changed the rom to CM 10.1.3 stable, although i do know that CM roms are battery hungry yet battery remained about the same as before. Thinking maybe the battery was faulty, i got a new one. It seems slightly better but still i am managing only 2 hours screen time with Cm10.1.3 and a matrix kernel. Plus, the charging is SUPER SLOW. Takes more than 4 hours to reach 100% charge. Is that normal? Kindly any suggestions would be appreciated.
maybe is battery problem ..change it
Battery problem is common issues in nexus S..I am hardly get 2 hr + screen on time..

Hi There
you can try to clean the -ve,+ve and the BSI terminals of the battery get them back to golden color and charge it to 100% then Calibre it.
Just want to ask, usually how long does your battery last guys, while using wifi and games?
Is there a way or an app to extend the battery life of Xperia L?
Games suck up a lot of battery life, but if you're including games and wifi and all that it could go up to 3 hours or a bit more

I see, I'm just worrying my battery won't last long half of a day when using both games and wifi. Now I know that's it's normal, thanks!
Hi,
Can someone give me information. So I unlocked the bootloader and update to FW 2.17 flashed a custom kernel and it seems that my battery life is shorter.
It says that the stand by time is 1 day and 13 hours on full charge, but before was 3 days and couple of hours.
Can someone tell me what is wrong. Maybe I did something?? I realy don't know
Hi Friends,
Please send your battery usage after flash to kitkat 4.4.2 official rom ...
Many Thanks
Or plz create jellybean vs kit kat battery life thread. Needs comparison before deciding if its worth upgrade or not.

It's OK, no major drain -- I ran last night on the test build for 13 hours from 90% using XDA app, some texting and a couple of calls - got home and I had 78% juice in the tank left. I have flashed a couple of times since... but so far seems stable and steady enough.

5h 56m of light/moderate use and 75% battery left.
GPS / WIFI / Bluetooth all ON
I couldn't find a way to optimise my battery on Jelly Bean....was resorting to switch off location, bluetooth, etc.
Saw a HUGE improvement on Kit Kat.
Very impressive, installed it yesterday morning (installation used about 15% of the battery) and got to 15 hours of solid use with 20% left....and as i said the installation took a bit chuck out of the battery
Very happy

I'm seeing mixed results. From 100% - 90% it seems to loose that initial 10% extremely quick, like the S4 used to on 4.2.2. I've been on battery for two hours, with a screen on time of 45 minutes. To me it feels like it's going down pretty quickly, because I have literally had the phone next to me this morning whilst watching the TV and have barely touched it. Could just be me though.
On the initial charge after the update, my phone became hot to the point where it was hard to touch. I don't mean the warm feeling you get when gaming, I mean so warm I was worried it was going to burst into flames. It seems to be okay now though and that was just a one off.

Just my 2 cents...decided to jump the ship and flashed 4.4.2 (the XXUENA2).... wiped everything and so on....
Left the Note to charge overnight until 8.30 am...around 15.00 I've noticed I'm running low on battery....with light to medium usage...unbelievable...
almost 1 hr voice calls and 1hr 50 mins of screen time brought the kitty~sh1tty to the floor.

That android system first in line in the consumption screen should spoil you something =)
Use wakelock detector and watch trigger calls.
For example Samsung push app and facebook notification (not to say facebook messanger) both drain battery a lot. I doubled the on screen time by disabling them.

Look at signal quality. It is horrible. Did you have a better battery life with the same signal on 4.3? Also, the device did not seem to enter into deep sleep state...

Well the screenshot tells us nothing. You'd have to give us all the battery screen shots. But from what I can see, 14 minutes on battery, a lot of screen use and some gaming... 3% isn't bad at all. You can't really judge anything on 15 minutes though.

While the N5 is one seriously amazing device, one thing it is not known for is having great battery life. You'll get used to it.

I already know that about the N5 battery, but i think it's particular problem with my phone.
You're still not showing all the screen shots. Your battery is fine. Look at the screen usage % of the other screen shot. Much less than yours
Here's the deal, if you use the screen, your battery goes down. Nothing new here.

Only 2 things affect screen battery use.
1) the amount of time you use the screen
2) the brightness of the screen.
So turn it down or turn it off.
Playing games will drop your battery fast. No way around it. ?

You can see they didn't play a game in their screen shot, where as you spent some time playing clash of clans. Gaming will always drain your battery quickly and this is not a unique behavior with the Nexus 5.
Also the higher frames per second your phone can achieve the quicker your battery will drain. This makes an interesting situation as once your phone gets hot and throttles down it will actually last longer as the frames get lower. If you were to limit the FPS or CPU clock speed you could actually game for longer.
Usage, Settings, and Signal determine battery life. This would be an example of how different usage will obtain different battery life.
so i perfer to have a battary case, this phone battary so tinty
Yeah i got that, thanks a lot guys!
