I own an Opo but I don't know what pie control is, so if you explain it to me I can have a look.

I tell you, buying pie pro is probably one of the best purchases I made ever!
Consider it if that is a deal breaker for you

i think they got rid of it for immersive mode everywhere when expanded desktop is enabled. basically enable expanded desktop, then slide your finger in from the bottom of the screen, and for a few seconds youll see a semi transparent nav bar which will auto hide.

How i achieved the pixel nav bar with animations (no root)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.damianpiwowarski.navbarapps
Use that app and set the static colour to black
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.axndx.prithvee.pixelnavbar
Then use this app and get the buttons placed correctly.
This isn't perfect and sometimes the nav bar has a mind if it's own but works in most apps
It also has the pixel animations
Also the nav bar has the be locked in the "up" position
Also I'm using cornify free in this pic
When I make this and I see duplicate navigation icons (one from the app and the original from the OOS launcher), I try every setting and no luck...

Yeah so u can adjust the buttons in the pixel nav bar app. Make them sighly smaller than the oos ones. For me the oxygen os ones are the "outline" and the pixel ones fill in the space.
See this pic. The light gray is oos
My settings
Thanks with moving one over the other it works. But I thinking of rooting my phone not waiting for OOS Oreo update. And make customization a lot easier!
is there any way to achieve Pixel navigation bar with animation on a rooted OnePlus 5T?

Well I had the animation without root. Still using this guide.
Try to use telegram with Navbar, and see what happens when you use the keyboard and try to attach something to the message
Guys, sorry for the request, I'm not very skilled in the programming but I guess it's easy to create a flashable .zip that substitutes only the icons of the OP5t navbar with those of the Pixel, without animations. Would someone do it? It would be a more elegant solution and without the horrible gray edges that you see using the play store app.

Its actually really easy t get the pixel navbar.
If you use substratum. Just download awesome navbar and press pixel and install. That's it. For nougat it requires root, if ur on oreo beta it does not. (Only adb)

I do not use substratum, I had tried a xposed module that did not work very well, so I had come to the point of wanting a flashable .zip like the old times on Nexus 6p. I will try substratum, thank you very much for the advice!

Stock Android - Nav Bar Auto-Hide

The Nav Bar needs an auto-hide feature. Allowing users to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring the navigation up when needed. In addition, helping to address burn-in fatigue for P-OLED technology.
I'm sure this is a custom ROM feature, and has been for some time...but the Pixel 2 XL is a perfect candidate to have Android bake the feature into the stock Android experience.
#Gadgeteering
It is a feature and it is baked in. it's called immersive mode. Google it.

I use custom navbar from the app store. You have to use adb to St it up but don't need root. Couple of videos on YouTube that show you how.

[Q] How to edit the distance or position of the On-screen Navigation Keys?

I am using the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (P5110), a 10.1 inches wide tablet, and my thumbs are obviously having the worst time trying to reach the on-screen navigation keys. I can't always place the tablet on a table. I would usually be holding it with both of my hands and I can only rely on my thumbs in that situation.
Unless I would let go of the other hand, risking the moderately heavy tablet to fall.
Is there any app or a way to modify the on-screen navigation keys to have a bit further distance or space from each other, just like it was on Stock ROM and on our KitKat ROMs?
Or if it can be moved or positioned to the right or left side of the Navigation Bar?
I think the distance of the on-screen navigation keys for P51XX were modified when we started having the Unified ROMs?
I don't want to use Pie controls yet, if I can still find a way to modify the on-screen navigation keys.
Do I have to edit something in the build.prop?
Edit: I'm using the AICP 12.1 (Nougat 7.1.2) ROM
welp, place your tablet on your arm and grab the tablet top side and you can safely.
Or you can change navigation into fling bar so you can use gestures on navigation.
@StalkerUnderTheBed
Good point! I've tried Custom Navigation Bar but it's incompatible with your rom.
You'll need to use custom roms that doesn't use Smartbar and is on Nougat+ like LineageOS 14.1.
Also as an extra, this thread.

Thanks! Yep, it didn't work on this ROM. So "build.prop" is the correct place to edit and move these?
I don't have the knowledge for that, but I'll try to manage somehow.

Why people disable NavBar?

Any reasons why people use mods/hacks to disable the navbar permanently? Samsung offers the option to do so, but why u have to disable it permanently?
Gestures navigation is not that smooth & u have to use an app.
Is there any benefits or something I'm missing?

I do it so I dont have to look at it
Its always white when i want it black and black when I want it white
Lol That's pretty funny tbh:laugh:
You have this big beautiful touch screen, why do I want to take up space on the screen (or have it appear/disappear) every time I want to navigate or go to the home screen? I use Gesture Control so that I just have to swipe left/right/up at the bottom and never have to see it...
Looks better and is really cool to have the whole screen.... navigation gestures works pretty well.
It's quite simple really, you get more screen real estate and you don't need to look at the ugly navbar.

I tried the xda navigation gestures & the fullscreen view is pretty awesome tbh.
How did u hide the navigation bar & what gesture app/mod do u use please? I want something a little smoother than the xda gesture app.
I'm on Alexis 5.3 rom.

I used to use plasmalite and it was awesome, unfortunately stopped working well under Oreo and it never got updated. Now I use XDA gestures, which is pretty OK, in some aspects better than plasmalite.

Xda gestures works great especially the split pill giving additional swipes. I have some very minor delays with it though, but I can live with it. OnePlus gestures is the best so far, but it's paid.
I tried out XDA's Navigation Gestures (paid version) but find Samsung's One Hand Operation+ more enjoyable.
From the edge screen I simply swipe left to go back, to open recents I swipe up diagonally from the same place and to go home I just press the home button.

Hiding navigation bar possible on Android 11?

Hello. I was wondering if there is a way to hide three button navigation bar on my 8t to use a third party gesture app.
I have root and i did try Magisk Hide Props config method by changing qemu.hw.mainkeys from 0 to 1, but nothing changed. Even after reboot the value stayed at 1, but still have the nav bar..
As far as I know, they changed something in android 11 which makes that impossible.
I tried the same with fluid n.g but it did not work
There a way to do it with adb. Haven't tested on 11 yet

yeah they removed that ability in Android 11

Yes even the qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 mod on the build.prop doesn't work on OnePlus 8T, I have no idea why. I used MagiskHide Props module.

Theoretically root (above method) should work, it works on Pixel phones, but currently still not working on OnePlus 8T.
Don't see the problem why they removed that feature. I would gladly use the gestures on Oneplus, but the problem is that it's blocking some features on different apps where I have to press something down in the corners. I think it's because of the google assistant feature.
Why not use the stock gestures?

This doesn't mean "removing" the navbar, what you shown is changing the navigation more from navbar to navigation gestures. What people are talking here is to remove the navbar while in navbar mode, so that they can use third party navigation gestures app.
If you ask why, they (and myself too) doesn't like OnePlus' navigation gestures for certain reasons. Personally, I much prefer the old OnePlus 6 style which is swipe up from bottom left/right for "back" action.

Aka android 9 version. Android 9 also had the two button gesture option. Android 10 introduced this version of it and has been further optimized in Android 11.
Of course this is all stock android versions. Some OEM's modified it like samsung for example. Oneplus isn't responsible for this style as its stock android gesture nav. Maybe in the future oneplus will make there own but there goal is to make OOS as close to aosp as possible while still adding some built-in customization.

Yeah I don't blame OnePlus for this, and it is Google that removed android's ADB overscan feature to hide navigation bar as well. I just hoped that the root method works in OnePlus (the build.prop edit) because it works well on Pixel phones.
I am using Oneplus's gestures + Fullscreen/Immersive Gestures Magisk module, this gives me almost truly fullscreen experience. I hated the arrow key on the bottom left of the keyboard. So this solves the problem for me. Just thought I'd pitch in.

Even though u remove the bottom bar, some apps still consider the empty space there. Check keyboard for example. There is some space and a useless hide arrow on bottom left. I believe OP is looking for a solution to remove that as well(which older versions used to support using overscan). I was looking for a solution to this as well.

You still don't understand, we don't only want to hide that bar, we also want to totally disable the stock gesture so that we can REPLACE with other third party gesture app. On Android 11 the method is to use the 3-button navigation bar AND disable it, so that we can use another third party gesture like Fluid Navigation without the stock one interfering.
If you still don't understand please do not insist you do.
The only person who doesn't understand is you.
