I am going to tell a little bit about the problems I am having with gameloft and installing their games on my Sensation, maybe someone here is able to come up with a solution (gameloft support is quick, but seems to be not very capable).
To begin, I bought Assassin's Creed and Asphalt 6 in the wap store (they had a great deal, 3€ per game + buy 1 get 1 free)
I downloaded the apks, installed them, but I was never able to download the addional date needed.
I complained on the gameloft forums, and a day later, I recieved the following email:
Hello!
Thank you for contacting Gameloft Customer Care. My name is **** and I am happy to assist you with your problem.
In order for me to be able to resolve your issue, please provide me with the following essential information:
- Where did you get the game from? (Gameloft Shop, Android Market Place etc.)
- What is your complete mobile phone number with the country code?
- What is your country and service operator?
- When did you order the game(-s)?
- Firmware version: For your Firmware version please go Settings>About phone>Software information.
- Game version: You can look up for the version of the game in Settings>Applications>Manage Applications.
If you have a receipt, please send it to me.
Please get back to me with your answers.
Kind regards,

Of cause, I submitted all the necessary information - result was that I was resent all download links (via email and sms) and instructions on how to completely remove the games.
The next emails didn't contain any helpful information as well, so I started making suggestions to gameloft support on what might be the problem:
They use a specific port that is blocked on my campus network
They block certain IPs, I am always online using the same IP
vodafone.nl does *not* store the numer on the SIM
Unfortunately, the assistant didn't know anything about these, I was offered another free game (which didn't work as well) and was told that the problem will be forwarded to the developers.
My question is: Does anyone here know more about gamelofts DRM and/or etc than my support assistant wants to tell me?
EDIT: Read this post to see why gameloft's DRM is effed up...
I had a similar issue with a BOGO directly from their website. I had to email them all of that info, and they sent me a link to the APK. I tried loading the APK onto both of my phones. It installed on one, and failed on the other due to DRM. I don't how they lock down their games, I just know they do when you buy it from them. Gameloft games purchased from the android market on the other hand will install just fine on any phone linked to your gmail account, assuming the game supports your phone.
well the htc sensation has now very very limited compability atm with gameloft...but some of the 'pirated' versions seems to be fine...
Pirated versions seem to work, but if I like a game, I buy it. Additionally, purchased versions are always up to date...
I think that gameloft's DRM is, if you buy via their web shop, based on your phone number. vodafone nl seems to be not storing the number on the simcard (number does not show up in settings or other apps e.g. the "my number" widget), and that's why no API can "read" the number - gameloft thinks I am using a pirated version...
Just call gameloft and tell them u need the games sent to you again cuzz u factory resetted or any excuse u choose and they will sent u the game threw text I do it all the time even on games I don't buy it works I got alot of there games

They send me the games again several times, I actually did a factory reset, nothing did help.
This is nothing new for Gameloft. Plenty of Android bloggers have had the exact same problems on pretty much every handset.

And this is what I'm pretty angry about. If gameloft does not come up with a solution in the next few days, they probably lost one customer - and many future customers will be warned. This is the point where DRM fails badly - and starts supporting piracy. I mean, what do they expect me to do? Purchase the game and download a cracked version afterwards, because their version does not work?
Gameloft doesn't give a damn about their customers. They've told plenty of people who bought games and never got to use them to go to hell aka no refund. They're more concerned about people pirating their games than having a good reputation with consumers. It's messed up too since some of their games are decent if you can get their links to work or get the game to install or manage to reinstall it after resetting/replacing/modding your phone.
DRM - Dirty Rotten Muth.........
I just came back from my local vodafone store, the assistant there didn't know a thing, but sent me to a technician form "the phonehouse".
Together with this guy, I figured out the following. Gamelofts DRM seems to be based on the MSISDN, which vodafone does not store on the card. According to this wiki, the MSISDN does not necessarily need to be stored on the SIM, it's just for our convenience. Result of this is no API being able to read the MSISDN, and me not being able to play gameloft games.
Conclusion: I suggest not buy gameloft games if you can't see your own phone number in >Settings>About phone>Phone identity. (Unless, of cause, gameloft fixes their DRM)
I will give vodafone a call and will post any updates.
EDIT: Vodafone assistant didn't know a lot, but enough to confirm my theory of the gameloft DRM.
Good to know. How the f&*^ do you base your drm on arbitrary crap? I bet the units they develop on all use that so they figured it was good enough. No reason to warn owners of other hardware since if it doesn't work they've already been paid.
Hello,
I have sifted not only here but the whole web to see if there is a successful way of rooting my INQ Cloud Touch android mobile phone. All who have posted have gotton no solutions but their requests date from over a year ago so I will try my luck at renewing the request. I bought a bigger sd card hoping to solve "not enough memory" problems but so many apps cannot be moved to the card for whatever reason... so I'm now looking to rooting as a workaround...
The apps usually mentionned for rooting (z4root, superoneclick) and commercial apps advertised on the web (root android pro) do not seem to support INQ.
Can anyone update me on this? My alternative solution is to buy a new phone which would be a shame because it works fine otherwise... just too small inside!
Thanks
A few months ago I purchased a product that included an android device that is used to operate the main electronic. I was having several issues with the main electronic and the android device so I began posting my concerns on a different forum that several employees of the main electronic frequently visited. I was told to return the electronic and everything seemed okay with the new product. A few weeks after receiving and setting up everything and update was sent out for the android device and the main app on the device used to control the main electronic. However, after the updates I began noticing features that I posted about were not working. I found this to be extremely odd and contacted customer service who just gave me the run around and told me to try downloading the app on a different device so I did and had the same results. I ended up trying 4 different android and apple devices, 2 of which I downloaded the app at home and 2 were brand new so I downloaded the app away from my house on public wifi. The 2 new devices worked flawlessly until I updated the app later on at home. Now if I remove the app and re-download it on any of the devices it won't work. How is this possible? I'm simply at a loss and need the app to work. The main android device that came with the product has the app built in so I rooted it and deleted the app but I'm still having the same issue regardless of where I download the app. At first I thought I was dealing with a virus but after downloading the app from other places I'm not sure. I desperately need some help from you guys getting something figured out and I'm sorry for being so vague regarding the product but I don't want to ruffle any feathers and just in case this situation can be used in a law suit I don't want to give out more information than what's needed. Anyway, how can they target me specifically at my house and how can I delete all the app information from the main android device and basically start fresh. I did use titanium to delete the app after root but I don't think it worked because after downloading it again I'm left with the same situation. Also while using titanium I accidentally deleted the update apk and didn't make a backup beforehand so I'm out of luck with that I guess unless someone knows how to get it back. Thanks and I hope to hear some input from you guys.
No one can help?
Hello
I'm running a Pixel 2 XL on Android Oreo. One of my co-workers installed some kind of spy software and I already wiped my phone. Is there any way I can get some kind of proof of this back?! File recovery??
The software allowed them to see what websites were being accessed.
Any help would be appreciated. I am willing to offer money
Thanks
after a factory reset, the app should have been removed already. i had installed spy app ikeymonitor on my kids' phone before. just wipe the phone and it will be deleted.

No, you won't be able to get anything left except any remnants that may be in a cloud backup (web history?).
It's hard enough to recover any information from a non-encrypted phone after reset. Virtually impossible with a modern encrypted phone as far as the Userdata partition is concerned. .

Are you sure they installed an app? If they just saw your viewing history websites you have visited they may just have looked at company web logs or even just your browsing history on your device. Is there any indication they could read your messages etc? Does this person have any authority to do this? In most countries I think it's legal for companies to access your browsing history on company devices or if using company access points or even in some countries if it's during working hours on a personal device.
Probably not by data recovery etc... but if he is bragging about it,
how about trying to record your conversation... ??
You probably had your Google account open somewhere and they got in.
Go to your google settings and pause web history, search history and others.
I'm sure there is a way you can sign out of all devices remotely
I bought a Xperia 5 II at release. In all that time I was never able to use Netflix on this device.
Whenever I open the Netflix Icon it says "Sorry, we could not reach the Netflix service. Please try again later. (-1000)
I tried a lot of different approaches in the hopes of fixing it:
- Mobile / Wifi as well as different Wifi Access Points or Tethering makes no difference
- Uninstalled the app countless times, however because Netflix is pre-installed I'm not able to deinstall it from my phone completely. I can only delete all the data and then I'm forced to update the app via play store again
- Countless number of workarounds when people had similar problems, youtube videos, comments in forums... many questions about this problem you can find on google were actually asked by me
- Complete reinstall of the phone
I read about people who had this problem in the past but the majority had it fixed after an update from Sony.
Is there anyone who could kind and try to help me? This is driving me insane and I have this phone for almost a year now and am absolutely happy with it.
Regards and Thank You!
Maybe try contacting Netfilx as this is their app to start with. They must be having proper idea why you are getting above mentioned error. Then accordingly you can contact Sony support if issue is with device and not Netflix itself(I doubt it's device related as other apps are working fine!?)
Thank you for your answer and yes, everything else is working flawlessly.
I'm going to write an email to Netflix and then I'll see what happens. I'm afraid they will only give me prefabricated answers.
So what was the outcome???
Having same issue and also tried all above and on a samsung
