I've installed viper for android in my s4 mini lte. It has a samsung jelly bean 4.2.2 rom. But it's not working in my default music player app. I've tried every thing changing but it's not working. doesn't give any improvement in bass or clarity. can someone tell me why is that? and also my device is rooted and I've changed music effects in settings to viper4android.

Same here. I was using the yakjuzs stock ICS 4.0.4 ROM, and Google play music has an EQ built in. After flashing to yakju ICS 4.0.4 and then upgrading to 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA, The EQ settings page is no longer there for the new version of play music. I'm not sure if the change is caused by the change to yakju, or caused by the jelly bean upgrade. Has anyone found the solution?
I'm running Viper ROM and when I try to use this app the sound doesn't change when I change the equalizers. I just wanted to know if its the ROM or if it doesn't work on One S?
I have never used the eq or dsp manager on any 4.2.2 builds. I'm running slim build 4, and I don't know how to get to an eq. I ended up installing the viper audio mod. Which installed fine, I just need to read the directions on getting it to work with apollo and or playerpro.
What DSP manager are you guys using? Back on CM7 I used to use either the built in DSP manager in settings, or Volume+.
What is MusicFX and what does it do. How do I get the eq working in apollo?

In my experience MusicFX works only with the Samsung player and can't be used with other players. For the DSP , I would not use it cause a lot of times you'd get echo in phone calls, again my experience. I also use Volume+ which I find works well on any build of android. DSP is a very good app unfortunately as I mentioned a lot of people had the echoing on the phone while in a call if you can live with it then use it. Am on TW rom now but I did try CM10 and AOKP unfortunately never had luck with DSP.

For viper will have to put it in safe mode to get it to work on Apollo.
Changes made through DSPManager are not modifying the audio output. DSPManager is selected under the music effects control panel. Second phone on Slim Bean 4.2.2 which has experienced this problem. Build 7 and now Build 8.
Have downloaded EQ, Volume +, same issue. No adjustment to sound whatsoever. Any ideas? It would be nice to adjust the levels. Thanks!

You should drop DSP Manager and install Viper4Android. If you're interested in checking it out, search the XDA forums for it. It's the best sound mod by a long shot, in my opinion.
Just use Titanium Backup to backup DSP Manager in case you want to revert back to it, for whatever reason.

Viper4android isn't always 100% compatible. On my stock rooted nexus 4, it doesn't work across all apps and only on some of them. For example, it doesn't work on my stock music app, but works great through play music, so try another app like play music or just remove it because it not always compatible , especially with stock ROMS.
