I had problem with all 4.0.4 ROMs that you cannot see caller ID (name) -takes some time to see it. This problem is ok in older ROMs but in 4.x.x ROMs are very good features. In 4.4.4 I have not this problem, only in somes case if system is under big load.

Is there a custom ROM without the sound distortion bug?

I want to run a custom ROM, but I keep running into bugs that are a no go for me. One in particular being the sound distortion bug that seems to be in every ROM I've tried. Anyone know if there are any without such problems?
I have the Verizon HTC One M8 currently running stock rooted with an unlocked bootloader.
Seems the sound distortion bug only effects cm based Roms. Try the stock Roms on here.
From what I understand nothing but a sense ROM will not have the bug based on HTC not releasing something and the CM teams having to reverse engineer. In thinking it's the kernel, but don't quote me on that.

USB speaker stereo output problem (one side not working)

it was working good few days ago. now one speaker (left/right) is not sounding when i flashed a custom rom for test purpose (may be CM based). now um on AOSP based rom (5.1.1). but from the flash my usb speaker sounds only one side. after that i switched and flashed several custom rom but no solution. plz help me. i think its not for roms fault, because roms works correctly before .
is it kernel related problem? or something??
can flash of factory rom may bring solution?
device : moto g (xt1033)
(sorry for my bad English)

ordered Samsung s7 Exynos version[SHALL I INSTALL CUSTOM ROM]

Hello,
I got a real good deal on the samsung s7 so i took it.
My question to you is, shall is stick to stock os or install a custom rom?
the reason i ask this is cause i was using a redmi note 4 and the custom firmware is kinda buggy, i need to reboot once a while. its running on 8.1.
it has LTE issues, Keyboard issues, apps crash randomly, slows down once a while.
Also, if i root it and install 8.1 on my samsung will the camera quality go down? i have heard this is true? can someone please correct me.
Honestly i want a stable experiance with a good camera, thats all.
Please advice.
Stable & Full camera quality, stick to stock
You need a TouchWiz ROM with stock camera app to get 100% camera quality
Custom ROMs are much more likely to be unstable than stock, but I haven't tried any

I've run a variety of Custom AOSP / AOKP Roms on my S7 - Nougat and Oreo 8.1 - After the latest Samsung Firmware update - I figured that I'd run Stock Rooted for a while - Stock is Definitely more stable than any of the AOSP /AOKP Custom Roms and the Camera is one thing that is constantly being complained about on AOSP / AOKP Roms.... That being said - If you like the idea of Running a Custom Rom & are prepared for some bugs - They can certainly be used as a Daily Driver ??
Sent from my SM-G955W ??
Hey thanks for the reply guys!
i thought maybe since the device is old someone might have ported a stock quality like camera.
its easy for me to say i guess! im sure its tough. well, i guess i'll install the pixel rootless launcher and keep using this beast! im not much of a heavy user its just whatsapp and instagram chats mostly.
though i'll miss android 8.1. but stability is worth it!
i was thinking how about i install a 8.1 rom+ google camera[ is it stable and better than stock now?]

Try backing up your data and then clean flashing. I'm on 3/25 too and don't have any issues with calls.
Already tried many times but doesn't work.... I'm starting thinking that i have the mic broken...if i enable the speaker the problem doesn't persist.... The strange thing is that with stock firmware works perfect
