[Q] Nexus 5 "Ok Google" issue. - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought Nexus 5 before 2 days ago. When i started Cellphone first time and tried "Ok google" it was working fine.
Now after 1 day i did upgrade to 4.4.3 and 4.4.4. Now "Ok google" word detection seems not working for me. I tried to restart phone 2-3 times but didn't worked.
Some times it works after 4-5 speech attempts and for that i have to keep my cellphone near my mouth.
So i want to know how to debug the issue, like whether it is issue from hardware (i.e mic) or issue from OS ?

Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30 problems (calls and notifications)

Hi guys,
my girlfriend has a non-rooted lollipop standard firmware Galaxy S4 and 2 problems with the Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30, one quite-solved.
1) Bluetooth calls stopped working after you made 2 or 3. Reading on Internet I discovered it was probably a problem with "OK Google" feature. I stopped every "OK Google" and "Google Now" feature and now seems to work fine even if sometimes happens again and you need to reboot phone and band otherwise all calls received or made from band are directed on phone.
Before stopping "OK Google" she also had problems with voice commands from band that stuck immediately (tried different settings on phone and app without results). Now works quite-fine using the Samsung voice commands.
2) If you swith on the notifications in the phone app after one or two days (or caused by something, I'm not sure because it's not my phone) they auto-turn off. Still have this problem.
Thanks for reading and help!

Google Now problem

Hello everyone!
I noticed a problem when Google Now's "Ok Google" detection is turned on. The problem is that it uses the mic all the time (ok, it's normal as it is supposed to be listening all the time) which prevents the camera, Duo, or any other app using the mic to work properly. As soon as I disable this option, everything works fine again.
I'm on a Chinese 64Gb version with a C900B133 rom flashed on it. Did anyone else notice the problem and find a work around?
Have a good one guys!
Just clear the data and it will work fine

Assistant Not Working

My (Google purchased) Pixel, which is rooted on the May update and utilizing the V3 boot signor, is having troubles running Google Assistant. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? I can get to the screen where you 'train' Google Assistant to listen to your voice say "OK Google" but for some reason, it doesn't hear me at all....
Any thoughts on this one??
Thanks!
I had the same issue. GA just randomly stopped working and I couldn't get the voice training to work. I turned the phone off completely. A complete shutdown, no reboot. Gave it about 30 seconds and turned it back on. Went into the settings and then tried again and everything worked just fine. No issues since.
Have you checked if your microphone works in other apps or while in a call? This phone has known issues with the microphone failing.

Ok Google Not Working After v11.19.17.21 ?

I noticed recently that "Ok Google" voice activation of the Assistant was no longer working. It took me a long time to notice because I only use this feature when driving longer distances, something I haven't been doing much during the pandemic.
With the newer versions if I say "Ok Google" or "Hey Google" there is no response. If I manually launch the Assistant ie long press on Home button it comes up and I can press the microphone and it works. If I try to retrain the voice model it tells me it's having issues connecting, and I cannot get past this message. It's clearly not a connectivity issue because I can use other Google apps and surf the web just fine.
I was curious when this had stopped working so I did some testing:
10.97.8.21 original version that came with the OS update, working
11.19.12.21 working
11.19.17.21 working
11.21.9.21 not working
11.27.6.21 not working
11.30.12.21 not working
11.39.7.23 not working
11.43.8.23 not working
12.2.11.23 not working
12.6.8.23 not working
12.10.7.23 not working
Obviously I didn't test every single version available but it seems that it broke between 11.19.x.x and 11.21.x.x. I was not able to find a good 11.20.x.x to download and test, so I can't rule that version out.
For now I've reverted to 11.19.17.21 but I'm concerned about security running that old of a version.
Any idea what might have changed in between those two versions to make this stop working?
Anyone else have similar experiences?

Android Assistant through bluetooth audio- error sound

Can anyone tell me why my Google Assistant is almost always giving me a "ding" ( which is normal) but then immediately followed by a crackly "dong" which sounds like an error when activated by my car voice controls and when I answer it, say sending a text message or telling it to call someone. The phone is not plugged into the car and signal is good. It's bloody annoying as it cuts into whatever voice command I am giving it and it cannot hear the first part of my instruction. Everything has been updated and rebooted but it persists. The issue is only a couple of weeks old, and doesn't seem to happen in AA itself. New-ish Samsung S20 FE 5G; Mitsubishi factory head unit, 5 years old.
